In my opinion what they do right is that they are able to bring out old kits with great decals and more than once they upgrade the molds with extra parts! For instance the ex AMT (K)C-135, Esci Mirage F1, or the venerable Dornier 24 to name a few. But their new kits are very nice as well. Thats what I like from them 😀 But even they make mistakes in my opinion with overpricing certain kits which are already over the break even point for centuries. And even in my stash the Italeri kits are just a handful (less than a handful originals to be honest) and most are repops by them from other companies! cheers, Jan

Regarding the Commando I have both kits…Valom is better in many details but still. By the way no full interior only an upgraded cockpit! Many parts still interchangeable as I have noticed. Is the Basler different , yes it is a Basler but few items cobbled together from different kits anyway..even some Italeri parts ! The KP Let has been altered in many details as well and it is what it is …is it chique to cobble kits together in this manner ! I think not but this is a personal opinion! KP/AZ is not the only one copycatting… Take a look at the Valom Curtiss Commando which in fact is a an upgraded Williams Brothers kit.. The A&A BT67 is also in the basis an Airfix kit ! And there are plenty of other story’s of “stolen” kits. cheers, Jan

Regarding an Airfix Hampden Airfix once stated they have no intention in doing one until the one in Cosford is completely restored.. ICM doing one is warmly welcomed by me 😃

Well I have three Basler sets from alleycat and they match perfectly well and I had one TP-47 set (the Dodson/Ami type) and that was a mismatch! These are for the Airfix kit. If you happen to have the Constanza conversion that will only fit the Italeri C-47/DC3 cheers, Jan

Funny thing is that the wheels which are not flattened are from the Italeri DC-3/C-47 they copycatted as much as they could. Still a nice kit if you don’t like resin.. cheers, Jan

Just building the KP kit now (2 of them) …not a perfect kit as the fit of the engines is cumbersome but it will look fine in the end. In my case it was a choice €17,95 against €39,95 still had to ad decals as the KP ones weren’t the ones I needed I think the SBS resin kit is the best available DH88 now…. cheers, Jan

I agree as there are certain (a lot)parts exactly the same as in the Airfix Dak ! Take the horizontal stabilizers (exactly the same shape) , glassparts , gear parts……. Is this a bad thing? No not at all and I hope it has the spoked wheel, at least I have one on preorder at the aviation megastore… Lets hope it has the outer leading edge in a concave shape as well then it will be a cracker ! I only can’t find a clear part for the cockpit escape hatch which is seen on these aircraft as well! cheers, Jan
