  1. Many years ago when Airfix released the 1/72 scale Concorde the local model group set about a what if concorde group. The plan was to to come up with something regarding the Concorde and what if a company or organisation purchased one of the several Concordes for personal use. This is my dads take on the concorde done in Eddie Stobart markings. The model represented the red, white and green paint design and their famous Stobart logo branded on the tail. This colour scheme was famous on the roads of Britain, and could of been in the skies also. Thanks for looking.
  2. Hi all well this week has had me up and down with feeling ill and the concorde hasnt moved. Im hoping to get back on with her once i feel fit. Im hoping this week i can i can find time to get the interior fitted together and get the front cockpit and nose sections fitted together and filled. Hopefully ill have more pictures to show soon as well. Still a long list of work to be done including the wheelbay details and flaps to be fitted as well as getting the whole thing painted. More soon chaps.
  3. I have built 2 of these and are great looking when finished. You have done an excellent job and i feel i need to build another one maybe the 1/16 scale one converted onto a camperπŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
  4. So only a quick hour tobight as i couldnt seem to focus on what was to be done. So mainly i have been working on the areas which needed filling and sanding. There are some areas which still need a little attention but i think im nearly done. Just the nose to fit and fill and sand.😣😣 will it ever end haha. Now thanks to HP42 for the references i have been able to add more detail to the interior entrance beginning with the door and entrance. I started off by adding a strip of card to the inside and then cut the doorway out leaving a small trim around the doorway. Next will be to add detail to the side panels. I have also began working on the door by cutting the top away and adding a shim to the top. Next will be to fill the back of the door and the support bars. Unfortunately i forgot to take more pictures but there isnt too much to show. Hopefully by the end of the week i should be nearly finished with the door and nearly finished with the interior, especially now i have great references to go by. More soon folks.
  5. I agree with panzer vor. Nothing has shown on google in terms of recent news. Maybe the cockpit was passing through on its way to another show like cockpit fest or something alike. When you look there are alot of cockpits preserved for public viewing.
  6. I think a big of digging on google may be required see what can be found.
  7. Certainly agree in sure it wouldnt of been massive amounts of work to do and could still do mine providing the CA gives in. Many modellers did say they moved it forward around 12mm. But with all the work i got on at the minute i think that messing with the front wheel bay may just tip me off the edge. Thanks for the pictures they are a great help and i know exactly how to go about it . Hopefully have another update tonight if i can find a couple of hours once the kids are in bed.
  8. Sou ds like a lancaster to me but if any lancaster was being cut up for restoration or anything else alike, surely someone would of posted on here about it πŸ€”. Certainly a strange one at that.
  9. You sir are a wonder of the concorde πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ only i have realised now that i may have to go back and repaint the interior and engines and, well all of it really. Thankyou so much. I think i should have plenty to go by now. Once again thankyou so much. Now unfortunately i havent been at the workbench much as since starting work i have been having a few health issues and has caused me to struggle getting anything done. So tonight i have managed to get a few small bits done which needed adressing. Starting with the cockpit windows.these have had their white panelling applied and will require a few minor touch ups but pleased so far. As you can see the dashboard is miles away from the window so i think a small modification is in order. Not sure where the mark came from but will be hidden behind the visor so not too worried. Also i have filled and filled some more, mainly on the wing roots as i had a gap running all the way so here is how she is sitting now looking like she has had some serious surgery. Doing this it has ensured me that once all the sanding has been done there will be no sink marks or gaps anywhere there. As for the interior i have alot more work to do and thankyou to receiving more references i can already see alot more detail i can add. Hopefully by tommorow i will be back on ball with getting this thing going and hopefully have here ready for painting by the end of the month. Thanks for being patient.
  10. Excellant work i have next in my line of builds. Hopefully it will look as wonderful as yours. Any problems with the build at all ??
  11. Sign me up too. Keep having the urge to build a thud so now its a good excuse to do one πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  12. Cheers Ced im quite pleased with the engines but still thinking of weathering them slightly to reduce the tone a small bit. As for other parts i think some minor detailing on access panels as well but nothing major as these were all kept clean during their time in the skies. Hopefully have some more progress soon.
  13. Going to be following along big time on this one if you dont mind. Been begging the wife for one but so far nothing has arrived πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  14. Well its been a few days and only a small amount of time has been put into doing the concorde as i have returned back to work now. So to begin with yhe cockpit has now been finished, i was thinking of adding seatbelts to the seats but not aure if its worth it. So i will decide when its time to button the cockpit halves together. I have also given the engine casings and exhausts 2 coats of humbrol 53 as i could not decide on the true colour. I know that the true colour has been debated many times before. But i feel after a wash and a small amount of weathering they shouldnt look too far from the real ones. Also i have masked off the cockpit windows ready for the coat of white which must be done before fitting the visor. However its not all perfect as i have hit a small issue. I have already trimmed down the instrument panel to allow the cockpit windows to fit but i still have gaps shown ringed in the picture below. My plan is to fill the gap with glue and sand back any excess causing minimum damage possible to the cockpit windows. Finally for the front the interior cabin has had its first coat of interior grey and just requires detailing and will then need all the small details added before fitting it into the fuselage. Finally i have completely finished the undercarriage legs after a small amount of weathering and last minuite details. So firstly the front undercarriage leg And now one of the main legs (was too awkward to photo both because of the light). still loads to get done. My next job will be fitting all the front section together then onto the fuselage and hopefully get all the gaps and problems sorted. More soon thanks for looking in.
  15. Reconciler, i do beleive therr is one available in resin. A guy on here started it and it stood taller than his son from nose to tail. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately i had a break from it last night and did a little bit of painting on my Airfix Mini which i was given to as a present. Its not to say i have given up on her, but i just needed a night concorde free after all the cutting glueing filling and sanding. Will have some more progress tonight hopefully. Planning on getting the cockpit finished and fitted and also have the interior painted ready for detailing.
  16. Cheers HP42, nice advice on the elavons, im thinking i might place a small trim across the top to eliminate the gap between the wing and the elavons. As for the door im still wondering if to trim a section off at the top and then scribe a little detail to make it look like the upper part of the door is in the right position. did question the position of the door i think now John Candy coild fit through mine. As with most things on this kit im chopping up parts and then worrying about the pther parts when i get to them. But thankyou for the warning on the decals ill have a look and let you know.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Finally as for the stairs ive been digging around on the net and have been trying to find some of the stairs which has the old british airways logo on. Its going to be a scratchbuilt job anywayhut im having difficulty trying to find some decent referances.😐😐
  17. Okay everyone a small update with what felt like alot of work i have worke on e parts this evening. Beginning with the nose. I have made a rough go of the dashboard under the visor which is still awaiting detail once i can find a suitable image.ignore all the tape its only there while im roughly fitting hi gs in place that i have scratchbuilt. Next was the cabin door which i removed. I wanted to make the hinge as close as possible with the limited spares and parts i had. Here are the main hinge and a support bar found on the real aircraft.here is where i am with mine and still need to add details such as the handle and a few smaller details. as you can see it still looks basic and needs more details which will be added at a later date. And you can also see the interior which i have made and again requires detail and painting. Doesn't look alot but has took a while getting all the scratchbuilt parts looking right. Finally here is a shot of it overall and looking much more like a concorde. Thanks for looking in and as usual more to come tommorow.
  18. Awesome work sheepie. Just got to hope and prey mine loks as stunning as yours.how did you do the elavins as i seem to have a gap at the moment which i think i might try and sort before i spray the white on. Do you have any more pictures of your finished concorde??
  19. Wasnt without issues Ced. Im pleased with what i have managed in the couple of hours i get per evening when everyone goes to bed. My only issue i have one wing has closed up all the way to the fuselage and the other has a 1mm gap all the way so still got a 101 jobs to do before i get anywherr near painting and decaling πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  20. Greetings everyone and sorry for the recent silence on the build. Now ill start with the negative stuff first and then onto some good news and some pictures. Well firstly the nose is a no go i have spent almost 2 and a half hours fiddling and messing, and still no joy. As mentioned by Reconciler its a pain. So she is going to have a fixed nose and will remain that way as most people agree, it is the true stance of concorde with the nose in the raised position. Now onto some good news now my last updated picture of concorde showed a limited picture of the elavons in the lowered position, well......this is what im aiming for in terms of positioning and looks. And after an evening of cutting sanding and more cutting......the elavons have only been temperary fitted with tape to ensure fitment and angles are correct.centre of the tail shows they all fit level and evenly. And one more just because im so pleased with them...also as you may of seen i have permenantly fitted the tail and also the wings so now all remains is the nose which will be fitted once i have scratchbuilt the interior. here you can see how i have applied filler all the way and extra at the top to fix the ill fitting tail where the parts fit to the main aircraft. For anyone also building one, watch out for it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. So as i said i wanted some more productivity to show you all and i think tonight has been mission accomplished. Im hoping to have the engines half way tommorow evening and maybe before the end of the month whe may even have a coat of white on her. Thanks for tuning in all the best. Graham
  21. Excellant work so far mate. I have built a few trucks in my modelling time and im looking forward to release of the Italeri Mercedes-benz Actros. Ive pulled up a chair for this one and will be following your build all the way. Best of luck mate
  22. So after much thinking and thought i have decided to put the nose to one side as all of the nose section is only dry fitted. I have notixed that the inside of the nose is too visable so i will be needing to make a dashboard to hide all the internals. I think tonight i will have one more hour to get it to work and if it doesnt work ill fix the nose cone in the up position and leave it there. Lets dace it once its on display no one will touch it so i think its going to be better to fix it in one position. Now with the tail and the main fuselage together i need to sort out the gap between the sections and also get the main wings built up. Only then ill be left with the front sections for the airframe and to detail the undercarriage bays and finish the engines and she wont be too far off ( also got to scratchbuild the interior as well 😣) i will update later this evening when i have some more progress to show. Cheers to everyone who has commented and followed along so far.
  23. Sorry for the delay in updates everyone as i have been busy with the family and finding only an hour here and there to sneak to the desk to do some fettling and fiddling before being dragged away again. Good news. The tail is now superglued to the main body and the elavons are half way through surgery. With one side lowered and the other side to go, hopefully as well as the first set. Also the main cockpit windows have been masked ready for their coat of white which will be done with the rest of the aircraft before the nose is finally fittted (long way to go yet!). Also the engines have been getting some bench time. And with one half complete i had chance yo snap a quick picture before the phone died.as you can see the front half which is to be in white will be fitted after paint to save masking etc. So all good news so far. However... This evening i have been playing with the nose and the lowering mechanism. After an hour of gingerly removing parts and fettling them together i hit a snag. It seems the nose and the visor will lower with ease (which was a sigh of releive and a large smile). But when i go to raise the nose back up the whole mechanism seems to jam and wont return to raise position. I have found that the linkages go too far forward past the pivoting point causing the linkages to lock up. No matter how much fiddling i do it still locks up u can see that the nose is going to defeat me and will be fixed in the raised position. Hopefully in my next update ill have more pictures to show you of my progress and also some more information on more parts i have modified and fitted. Hopefully i can conquer the nose issue and make the nose work. Take care everyone.
  24. Cheers mate the ones look okay so far but i feel this is going to cause me some problems later on hoping to make some progress today. Oh the joys of having a week off work. I ewill keep updating to show how it all goes
  25. Okay everyone i have had a small set back this evening as i decided to build up the main engine sections so they would be ready for paint, however as soon as i looked at a part i was greeted with a lovely view of this.... cracking... well not really. It would appear that the moulding was so thin it just couldnt handle packaging and shipping then the delivery. So more work needed on those dreaded engines. In other news the legs have had their final details added and are awaiting a lick of the hairy stick(behaveπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) and will then be ready. Now what do these pictures all have in common.... If your answer was elavons. Treat yourself to a sweetie from tin, yes i have been looking at these and i have come to yhe conclusion i am going to have a test and see what i can mask up.. Well that was quick, i took a knife and a few parts and after a few deep breaths and a few more sweets i had gone past the point of no return and ended up with somethibg like this. Stupid boy i know but i wanted to do something differant and this was it here is a shot of the angle which after looking at the pictures i feel is right please say if you disagree. So 2 down 4 to go, im not sure if i may of bitten off more than i xan chew now as the list of jobs to do which are as long as my arm is now getting longer by the day. Im hoping i can pull this off now. So this is all for tonight so i will leave it in the same way it resides on my desk for the evening. Good night everyone. P.S it all dry fitted no glue used πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
