  5. Well thats the 1/24 f3 harrier finished, enjoyed the build even though at times(like something small would keep falling off)it drove me bananas.Paint went on by hand as i still cant spray for love nor money, but im pleased with the results.decals were a pain some are to small to handle and were litteraly falling to bits as you slid them off the backing.Big OH the pilot has went awol.????? Took all the bits that needed laquered into the shed including the little man and when i went to fit him in the cockpit this morning ,hes done a disappearing act on me,turned over the shed, kitchen, cupboard, bins and still no sign of him???????(wot?)Oh well onwards and upwards, next project the handley page victor.( has anyone a camo paint scheme for this) 1 tues 6th (3) by skellitor59, on Flickr 2 wed 7th (2) by skellitor59, on Flickr 2 wed 7th (5) by skellitor59, on Flickr 2 wed 7th (6) by skellitor59, on Flickr 2 wed 7th (7) by skellitor59, on Flickr 4 fri 10th (1) by skellitor59, on Flickr #4 fri 10th (6) by skellitor59, on Flickr 4 fri 10th (7) by skellitor59, on Flickr 3 thur (1) by skellitor59, on Flickr 3 thur (2) by skellitor59, on Flickr 3 thur (4) by skellitor59, on Flickr 5 sat sun (2) by skellitor59, on Flickr 5 sat sun (3) by skellitor59, on Flickr 5 sat sun (6) by skellitor59, on Flickr 5 sat sun (7) by skellitor59, on Flickr 5 sat sun (8) by skellitor59, on Flickr 5 sat sun (9) by skellitor59, on Flickr 7 mon 13th (1) by skellitor59, on Flickr 7 mon 13th (10) by skellitor59, on Flickr 7 mon 13th (12) by skellitor59, on Flickr 7 mon 13th (13) by skellitor59, on Flickr 7 mon 13th (14) by skellitor59, on Flickr Anyone see a theme yet.???
  6. HI,Im just about finished my harrier gr3 and looking into my next modling adventure. The Hadley Paige Victor seems to fit the bill but the only ones iv seen available are the sand colored ones,Would any kind sir on the site have a camouflage paint scheme for a victor as this is the route im going to go as it will match in with the theme im doing at the moment. Thanks
  7. Managed to get some more of the harrier glued together.Straight outa the box was not going to work so iv found away of getting the engine in and lined up, and hopefully get it glued into place tommorow along with sanding the seam as theres a few gaps..The part of the Engine that was on top has had to come off and some taken off the bottom so it will fit in the engine bay and not hit the engine cover . monday 22 (2) by skellitor59, on Flickr monday 22 (4) by skellitor59, on Flickr monday 22 (5) by skellitor59, on Flickr monday 22 (8) by skellitor59, on Flickr monday 22 (10) by skellitor59, on Flickr More to follow
  8. No progress at all today ,Im having problems fitting the engine into the engine bay. After four attempts trying to line it up with the nozzles i gave up ,as i was near to throwing it in the bin. While one part of the nozzles the front fits no problem the rear ones aint anywhere near where they should be. Has anyone made this one 1/24 harrier or anyone else would be kind enough into giving me any insite in how to overcome this problem.
  9. .Righty ho bit of help needed gents bit of a, oh i dont know.Im building this striaght outa the box and came to items 20-21, i take it there the wheel doors .following the instructions i noticed the hinges(part 63-65)to be of different lenths and when you look down on them one side seems short and the other long.I will call this A. IMG_0954 by skellitor59, on Flickr Question is ,is this the correct way or have i somehow not followed the instructions correctly. This 2nd photo is if they are changed around and that looks more correct.I will call this B. IMG_0955 by skellitor59, on Flickr So gents the question stands .Is the answer A, or B.

  11. Right after a quick gander i thought id get the pilot and cockpit painted and put together.Trust me to have a senior moment two minutes after starting to glue the pilot,OOOPs forgot to paint him,Now how im gona paint all the detail between his arms. IMG_0951 by skellitor59, on Flickr He still needs a bit of touching up but thats for the morning. Cockpit not doing so well as even i cant stop the drugs which causes the shakes (legal stuff)so its a bit hit n miss with all the fine detail, but then if your looking that closely when its done GET OUT OF MY BEDROOM, IMG_0946 by skellitor59, on Flickr IMG_0949 by skellitor59, on Flickr Yes hes only got one arm,see above. IMG_0950 by skellitor59, on Flickr Going to have to leave it for a day or two as im out n about tommorow.but until next time (thats from batman i think) more to follow.
  12. With not being to well(again) this is only the 2nd build for me this year and although a tad expensive it looks worth while.Iv chosen the harrier over the tornado on the simple basis it was there in the museums shop and i would rather put money into a good cause (the museums) than to fill someones pockets A cracking morning at NELSAM at Sunderlands tram and transport day with the grandson who could only say wow to all the museums collections.(gobsmacked was a apt discription when he saw the full vertion Avro Vulcan) i have asked about the color of the pilots flight gear and have already had some imput.but no doubt i will be needing more info in due cause. For now all iv done is opened the box and sorted a few parts for the pilot and cockpit, but will be having a go at painting in the morning..OH and could someone remind me how to put a photo up ,iv only went and forgot how to do it again. 13. Thanks very much gentlemen for the pilot information,Onto the bodywork,Its hard to tell by the images as the aircraft are so old(i havent used this section before )but it has given me enough insight into what these are.No doubt i will be asking for more information as build progresses. Thanks again
  14. okey doky my next assignment is going to be the harrier 1/48 gr3. iv only looked in the box so far but i pulled theinstructions out and had a quick gander and striaght away i notice i couldnt find the color chart for the likes of the pilot, wheel wells, engine and other (hidden )gear that needs painting.Would anyone be able to put me in the picture as to what colors i will need for this build.Im assuming green ffor the pilot white for the wheel wells, and silver for the engineAnything else i should be considering??????? Thanks skiny.
  15. Nicely done ,Thats my next project. Is the a camo pattern with that model or just certain types of lightnings.???

    Stands

Hi .iv just about finished my 1/72 vulcan.i made it wheels up and planned to have it flying from my ceiling.Well plans of mice n men and all that but it is now going on my desk.what i need is some ideas of how to make and mount it.the stand will need to be at least 12 inches high.i want it to be just above my screen and hopefully in the coming months along with three or four other british aircraft. thanks in advance.skiny

  21. thanks for the kind remark, as said i need to buy some decent brushes(and cleaner) hopefully my next one will look better.
  22. Dear me,What a carry on iv had with this build, wrong color, paint camo disaster, spray paint upset, who said modeling was a form of relaxation.,Im at my wits end.Never mind, fianly got the colors im happy with and over spray delt with i have finaly got the color on,I know, I know it should have been weeks ago but iv spent some odd days in hospital. In the end i gave up on spray cans and hand painted all the camo.Need to get the right brushes but enquireys went unanswered.lots of brush marks but its on pretty thick so hoping i can sand them out .I should have went for wheels down as im made it wheels up to hang from the ceiling but the wife wont have it (to child like she says,But i am)Put some markings on the missile with a cocktail stick just to make it look a bit better.decals to do (im not looking forward to that) then some bits n bobs to put on then a couple of coats of clear coat. then bobs ya uncle.Still cant figure out how to post images on here so its down to flickr numbers again. https://flic.kr/p/Hhc42a https://flic.kr/p/GmRm6X https://flic.kr/p/Hhc3Mx https://flic.kr/p/GmRmyR https://flic.kr/p/H8SQtq https://flic.kr/p/GRZvSs https://flic.kr/p/H8SPzb
