  1. so thought F it il risk painting with the old airbrush, its still not right, afew bubbles in color cup and spluttering, but no spitting, so went for it. i got some of the black parts done(gaia gloss lacquer black) first then did the body(mr color red 3) il give it a day to dry, then il panel line, then il put a quick coat of clear to give it abit more gloss for decals
  2. sorry been a while, got side tracked by doing a little bearguy... anyway, did a few details hand painting on the engine... and this morning layed down the primer on the body and some parts that will just end up matt black. the bloody airbrush is buggered, cleaned out and started 5 times and after half a color cup things would get blocked which never ever happens with alclad primer, im getting bubbles sometimes and primer build up in the needle guard which will at any time spit large chunks of half dry primer onto the surface.. so payday is in a few days so i think im buy another neo and also get another needle/nozzle set to try and repair this one, hopefully il have 1 airbrush for metallics and another for paint and clear. hears the pics, not much to see.
  3. all i could find was tamyia make up sets things, wanted something a like more pro.
  4. hay, does anyone know of any good tutorials for this? need ones for cars and 2stroke exhausts
  5. i bought the protar 916 foggy kit last year, honestly the kit is rubbish, the wheels are bouncy rubber that you cant sand seams out of, the swingarm, chain, sprockets and chain guards are all molded into 1 part, the forks are literally the worst molded things ive ever seen, the forks arent even circular. the kit is really isnt worth doing even if you were given it. found afew photos of the said resin kit, only some 5 spoke wheels, decals and parts for forks.... found on this google search.... https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=1/12+ducati+996+resin&client=firefox-b&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwik34Dl9qXTAhWEAsAKHRZZA_YQsAQIMA&biw=1920&bih=1009#tbm=isch&q=1/12+tamiya+ducati+carl+foggerty&imgdii=ARcp0Mj88SMQGM:&imgrc=IMvYezOgtg58HM:
  6. anyone know if i could get hold of either of these transkits for tamiya bikes? or do any of you have either of them and are willing to talk?
  7. ok so i did a full mock up, of the wheels, arches and the body and it fits fine... i did afew bit of the engine....
  8. i get mine from taobao with bhiner 3rd party, its cheaper than hiro for hobby design and top studio stuff even after 20%vat/customs and postage. after customs and postage to UK i still paying 20% less than UK prices.
  9. ahh thanks fella. il do some test fitting again after resin is clean. had an hour free and i glued and filled the side skirts with homebrew plastic cement that is now a filler, il give it 48hrs before sanding off. and i also cut the top of the arches.. il glue afew more parts today
  10. so got started today, spent most of the sanding mold seams and rescribing panels, i glued the front end on and also mocked up the wheel arches for clearance, the kit comes with brake disks that are offset so you can either have it totally slammed or put them on the other way and extends the ride hieght to fit larger wheels, ive gone for the slammed/lowered way, which will probably create tons of problems. the resin wheels with tyres are about 2mm larger than these stock ones and the stock ones are already rubbing, so im thinking il cut away the middle of the arch and add a paper thin piece of pla plate. ive got all the resin parts soaking in soap to remove mold release but im thinking im going to have to do a proper mock up with the actual wheels and tyres and also fit the body including the resin arches as i think they may also be a clearace issue. oh well heres some pics.
  11. so this will be my first 1/24 car kit, done a few 1/12 bikes and of course lots of gundam and scifi stuff. the theme will be gundam, neo zeon, sazabi with the decals. so opened the kit today and really surprised how small it is, i think its due to not openning up a 1/24 car kit since i was a child. oh well it is what it is, ive also got the hobby design liberty walk upgrade kit and extra wheels and extra tyres. the decals are hologram and il just use a few of them. ive seen some photos of the finished kit and isnt as slammed as id like so may try and mock up and see if i can get it really low. heres the pics.
  12. anyone know if there is upgrade set for the williams, just like there is for the mclaren? ive just bought the 1/12 mclaren and a ton of upgrades (200 quids worth) but seems there is nothing at all for the williams, is that right or am i just not looking in the right places?
  13. i would skip the 144, the scale is too small which means detail is usually lost. you can even watch the series to get you into it.
  14. you mean hydrographics? no i just used normal carbon decal that was cut to shape.
  15. i see what you guys are saying, i was not a fan of the suit for long time, but its grown on me. some angles the design looks goofy, but at some angles it looks tuff.
  16. Heres my latest build, made a few color changes, but still mostly standard colors. ive been getting into painting my inner frames gray and putting more effort into them by putting warnings on the inner frame and also using PE and painting it light gray to give extra detail on the joints. drilled out forearms and added black metal exhausts, the knees were drilled and screws added, the side skirts were glued, filled and pla plate added to parts where i could not fill seams, the blue part on side skirt is a seporate part, so removed some plastic and added the gold mesh to the vent. the shoulders were drilled and JAO parts screws were added. HIQ decals were used for all warnings, and logos are all custom made by wessex transfers, used carbon decal on backpack which i guess isnt really "in-scale" but i like it. bandai dont make the proper claw hands for the 1/100 kit, but found that you can use use the 1/144 lupus rex oversized hands which are perfect fit for the 1/100 lupus. color changes... shoulders went from red outer and white inner, to white outer and red inner. and changed center of V-fin to white and also made foot claws white to match white claws on hands. primer alclad white. gaia brilliant white mr color yellow gaia ultra blue mr color red inner frame grays mr color 331, 73 metallics... gaia blade silver gaia starbright gold alclad chrome gaia clear red(shoulder inner part)
  17. thanks fella, this is exactly the info i was looking for.
  18. anyone built the old 917 kits from union company? i always wanted one that was in my local model shop, but left hobby for 20years, but quality seemed great even 20years ago, from memory they seemed better than todays fujimi kits. anyone know the quality of union kits?
  19. hay, i just bought this hobbydesign kit, one question, ive not got it yep so dont know. do you have to buy new tires or does it come with tires to fit resin wheels? or do i have to buy some 20" tires? thanks.
  20. im done with this forum, not going to say anything else but feel ive been treated badly. anyway, heres my pastel sinanju.
  21. finished all the inner frame, finally. thought id save abit of time when i finally put everything together and put the backpach together, looks quite nice got the cuffs and collars painted white, i also found out that i can get a enamel version of XF23 tamiya light blue IE humbrol 065, bought that yeasterday so should be here soon.. so hopefully i can make up a lighter version of the light blue i used on the feet and back skirts. so its coming soon. cant wait to use my new photo set up with this.
  22. yesterday i finished most of the inner frame parts and the inner shield, ive only shown a small selection of the parts that have had some hand painting and some metal dodads put on this morning. used the circle template to put some blade silver on the elbow joints. got a few more inner frame parts to do metalic today, they are tiny and should only take 20 mins. if ive got time il prime the weapons. i really think i need to sort out a better extraction, as my lungs are fine as i always wear a mask but eyes are getting really itchy and bloodshot every time i paint. anyway i bought another sinanju, should be coming in the post today.
  23. yeah, im having a little break and having a play with the kimaris, modding bits of it before i start on it properly. i just want to get the sinanju finished. another thing that i forgot about is the blue gray that i was using was meant to tie the cuffs and collars with the feet and part on the rear skirt. its a custom acrylic color, so guess that wont match the shield and cuffs.
