Well this will be my first ever "Scratch Build" ;D I took a trip to RAF Cosford earlier in the year and saw the Focke-Achgelis Fa330 Batchstelze and thought it look so cool. And so for a challange I thought I would have ago at building one from scratch...... Heres where im at so far...... Real one...

Been doing the tracks today, disaster to sart with! the glue melted the rubber track and so I difficulty in joining what was left. but all is sorted now, just have a little hard section from using super glue Anyways been using my weathering powders to create soil and mud, never done it on this kinda scale but im happy so far....

cheers guys. Well after painting the camo it looked a little too bright, so out came the weathering powders and its looking better....

Well today I managed to apply some paint. I tried out them Vallejo Acrylic Paints. The only thing I had a problem with was that I must of had a very faint trace of wax from the candle from when I last touched the model, as there is one little spot that hasnt taken..... This I can sort as it is not a big issue....
-
Well all the zimmeritt is now done (took a total of 4 hours and an 8" candle) also all the dents and scrapes have been added..... Once the primer has dryed I shall attach the arials ect, and a cable for the head lamp. Then the yellow/sand colour can be applied......
-
you will have to excusse me for asking, but what is the purpose of this zimmerette thingy stuff????
-
After 1 hour of heating a blade over a candle thats the turret done...... phew! ive kinda got like "welders flash" but instead I can just see a yellow blob of the candle.....lol
-
Now for the teadious bit..... Adding all those little marks and dinks to the armour and that groved pattern to the sides..... Heat and melt, heat and melt, heat and melt.... Im sooooo borded and ive only done a 10 minutes worth LoL Never mind, keep on going....

Bit of a strange begining to this build as originally I was only building a resin bust of a German tank Commander. I bought a bust not knowing who he was. A German tank comander who turned out to be one "Michael Wittman", one of the most successful tank commanders in German history. He is famous for his June 13, 1944, ambush of elements of the British 7th Armoured Division at the Battle of Villers-Bocage in a Tiger tank. Wittman's crews (chiefly gunner Balthasar "Bobby" Woll, also a Knight's Cross holder) are known to have destroyed at least 138 tanks and 141 artillery pieces, along with an unknown number of other armoured vehicles. The circumstances leading to Wittman's death have also presented a mystery to historians, who have been unable to form a clear consensus on the matter. So after discovering who he was I thought I would be differnet to paint this bust and mount it to a base with his Tiger Tank 007. After looking around at many different makes of models I came across this 1/35 AFV Club kit of the Tiger Tank that had all the relevent decals etc for the 007 Numbered Tank. This build Ive been looking forward to for some time as Im not normaly one for tracked vehicles. Heres my progress so far..... I do plan to add some more detail to the tank after collecting a couple of books show this perticular Tank.... watch this space....

looks good... did it ever get finished?
-
Well it looks like im gonna have some masking to do..... The engine can only be fitted as ther two halfs of the fuselarge are put together.... The fuselarge will need plenty of filling too, so the upmost care is going to be needed..... Thats i t for tonight, let the glue dry for a few days before anything else is done.

Looking at the de-struction's there are: 2 types of nose intakes 4 types of nose cones 2 types of canopies bomb or tank option depending on model 2 types of wing mounted canon 6 types of group markings Ok then here are the options below of what models i can build: E1 E3 E4 E5 E6 E7 E8 Which one is the one in my picture?
-
Thats it for tonight. Engine mounted to sub-frame and cock-pit frame with machine guns, more detail to add to these bits.
-
A little more detail to the engine:
-
Here's an update.... Scratch built some bits for the engine too, and slapped on some paint..

So this is what the Wingy thingy section looks like..... Some of you may already know me for figures, cars and anything Wallace and Gromit. But back in April I bought this: Its a 1/32 Hasegawa Messerschmitt Me 109E, now Ive never done planes before as Ive never found them too be interesting to me. Now what drew me to this was when I was a child I had two Matchbox die cast planes, one was a Spitfire and the other was a Me109, now the Me109 was in these colours: and for some reason I always liked the look of the Me 109 with the yellow nose over the Spit. :-/ So the plan is the paint this Hasegawa Messerschmitt in the colours of the above. Now after buying this book at a recent show (and Nick you were right it is the wrong book "F-K variants") I can see now that there are so many colour scemes for different squadrens bla bla bla etc etc etc..... Now Im not one for complete accuracy and Im sure there are many people out there will point out that the colours are wrong or the intakes are incorect, this is wrong and so is that for the model but all I intend to do is paint this up how I remeber it as a child. What I would like though is if anyone has any good colour detail shots of the engine, as I would like to make it realistic even though its incorrect if you know what I mean Hope you enjoy this build as much as Im looking forward to building it. Paul.
