  1. If you don't mind going the decal route rather than masks (should be easier but likely won't look as good), another option is this from Taiwanese company DXM Decals, printed by Cartograf no less. https://dxmdecals.com/shopping/ols/products/172-ukraine-af-su-27-digital-camouflage-58 Not a company I'd heard of until a few days ago when I was researching modelling Ukrainian digital camo, I couldn't see any for sale from a UK seller so took a chance on ordering a set directly from them.
  2. Same here, they're the only currently produced enamels I use (I do have a large stock of Humbrol enamels from the 70s, 80s and 90s but they're obviously unaffected). @Jamie @ Sovereign Hobbies - will this change in the law affect you?
  3. Slight thread resurrection to share a new (for me) culinary discovery at the weekend. Cheese and Haggis on toast, absolutely gorgeous, neeps and tatties won't get a look in any more.
  4. Why are there adverts on some TV shows on Sky which are ONLY available for download? Surely everyone just fast forwards through the adverts renderring them utterly pointless.

    London museums

Thanks, I went to the Natural History museum a few years ago, think I was in there for 4 or 5 hours.

    London museums

At some point this year I'd like to visit a few of the London museums, can anyone who's visited in recent years give me an idea how long I should allow to visit each of the following: RAF museum Colindale National Maritime Museum Greenwich Science museum I know doing all 3 on the same day isn't realistic if I want to do them justice so I'm planning on 2 visits, seeing one museum on one day and two on the other day, just trying to figure out which is the best way of juggling them. Thanks
  7. Maybe related to that, I remember reading somewhere years ago that the chocolate issued by the US army in WWII ration packs was deliberately given an unpleasant taste to discourage them being eaten other than in emergencies. I've often wondered if it backfired resulting in a lot of GIs developing a taste for the stuff with that type of chocolate then being produced and sold commercially.
  8. That's a rather generous description of Hershey bars IMO, tried one once and the way I'd describe it is vomit flavoured chocolate. Isn't US branded Cadburys different to the UK Cadburys too?
  9. It was released in January and mentioned on the previous page of this thread: https://www.eduard.com/out/media/distributors/leaflet/leaflet2022-03en.pdf If you mean the April one I'd say probably next week, they always seem to be released on a date in the teens.
  10. None of those grab me either but I can at least understand why a bus driving simulator (for example) would appeal to a bus enthusiast as it's not something you can do IRL unless it's your job. The whole point of modelling is you're creating something with your own hands, replicating the process on a computer seem pointless. If on the other hand it was a simulation of building a REAL plane/tank/ship/death star etc I could see the appeal.
  11. No, just one. Why? 🤣
  12. Same here. Hopefully just accidental rather than a deliberate decision to change the skin.
  13. I think the writers are definitely hoping for a 7th season. Without giving too much away, one of the story lines in season 6 seemed largely separate and unrelated to the rest of the plot, to me it only made sense to include it if it's a preamble to the next season. The one major snag is there's a 28 year gap between the 6th and 7th books leaving 3 options: Re-cast all the main characters with older actors Age the existing actors with a combination of make up and CGI (which IMO generally looks very unconvincing) Greatly reduce the time period in the series compared to the books. Is there anyone here who's read the books - would the plot still work if you reduced to gap to 5-10 years?
  14. Easy choice for me, the Whitley - one of my favourite WW2 aircraft and the Coastal Command livery is one of my favourite schemes.
  15. Just a pity this isn't a Profipack or Weekend boxing, the Mustang is an aircraft I'm largely indifferent to but I really like the South Korean scheme, I'd definitely build that but would probably never get around to building the second kit in the box.
  16. Wonder which one of them blinked first?
  17. Mine are in an IKEA Billy book case with glass shelves and doors. The big positives are the sides are pre-drilled every 20mm with holes for the shelf brackets and IKEA sell spare glass shelves (including brackets) cheaply. Downsides are the shelves only around 250mm/10 inches deep limiting what you can display (the largest model I have in there is a 1/72 Dakota) and the glass doors have relatively thick wooden frames.
  18. Need to put that into perspective though, the brand new 3 bedroom semi my parents bought in 1967 cost £2,350.
  19. On the subject of subtitles 😁 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0m4rcx0of4&t=14s
  20. Not unlike the first Mad Max film. For the American release the original Aussie dialogue was (badly) dubbed with American accents. Annoyingly the godawful American version was the one included in the UK VHS release of the film I bought in the 90s, even though the original version was used when it was shown on TV here.
  21. That's awful, I feel your pain ☹️ Whenever I move I transport anything fragile or of sentimental value myself, though obviously not a feasible option if you're moving between countries.
