Fairey Albacore - All Black Profile Question (Answered)

This doesn't add to the blackness but the last page lists the aircraft in 415 and 119 Squadrons by serial number and codes https://www.docdroid.net/c83ojgK/albacore-in-action-air-enthusiast-2006-09-10-125-pdf#page=5 -

Very nice Kriss. I built the Italeri re-boxed kit and the original Hasegawa kit at the same time and had more trouble with the Hasegawa fit. I cheated and used Italeri’s smoke ring decals

Progressing nicely despite the issues. If you want to model it as the aircraft I flew in, have the right brake shoes dangling away from the wheels

Really nice job on this considering the fit issues. You mentioned the you couldn't find the fit problem around the cockpit area. When I have a fit problem around bulkheads, instrument panels, etc., I run a layer of black paint around the edge of the part and gently close the parts together. Paint will transfer to problem area -
Great job and under surface colour. I've built three and one more in the stash. One cannot have too many Georges. George

Just measured the runway on Google Earth; roughly 629m/688yds long. Not bad when you're landing from the ocean side but the one time we came down river, the pilot flew at tree top height and once we cleared the trees, he briefly pointed the nose at the runway and then pulled up with all he had until we touched down.

Some great fixes there. I took this picture back in '83 with a small point & shoot camera so not the best

Just went though five Gladiator books and no pictures or profiles of ⦾RTP/N2266 though Lt. Cdr. Cockburn and the event are mentioned

This looks OK for starters but a bit out of your price range...https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AIRBRUSH-KIT-MINI-PISTON-COMPRESSOR-TWO-DUAL-ACTION-AIRBRUSHES-UK-SUPPLIER/264407104747

Sorry Troy. My above comment was made while looking on my iPhone but now that I have my laptop open, I see to different colours on the Airfix guide.

Airfix has the fuselage of band the same colour as the underside, beige green but the band doesn't seem to wrap around the fuselage and looks to be lighter

Good stuff gents. A word of warning though, some of these sites contain spyware; my Kaspersky went off a few times though I can't remember which sites
