  1. Hi all, This will be my last RFI for this year. I have finally finished another Flanker build out of other dozen. This build was based on Italeri kit and although the kit has a lot of known dimension problems, in overall the finished model looks pretty well. Here are some pictures of my Su-27SKM model. You can find the build progress report here: Thanks for watching and happy new year!.. Serkan
  2. The dull coat was applied and all pylons and payload have been placed. The aircraft is now ready for inspection... Serkan
  3. Thanks for your advices. You are absolutely right. In my next build I will also apply washes to payload. Serkan
  4. It was a big pleasure for me. I have already started to take some pictures to compare Revell parts with printed ones. I will post them soon in a new topic. 1:48 Testors A-12B project is progressing also very well. I need to print two huge fuselage parts (mid and fwd fuselages) which will take a bit time 🙂 Serkan
  5. A masterpiece build with a great work in progress report. Congratulations Alan, well done!... Serkan
  6. Hi all, Here are some pictures of recently finished project "Su-30MK (No:603) in 1/72 scale based on Heller Su-27UB kit. I did a lot of modifications in this build and used resin casted and 3D printed bombs as loading. Also the decals are custom printed with ALPS MD-5500. This is my first Flanker in RFI out of dozen in progress. The others will follow soon (hopefully!). The entire progress report can be found here: Thanks for looking. Serkan
  7. Oops you are right!.. Thanks John... Let's see if I can change the forum... Happy new year Serkan
  8. A last clear coat was applied before armament. Also wing tip launchers were replaced with Revell Su-27SM one: Next is to apply dull coat and place pylons and payload. Serkan
  9. Hi all, I haven't noticed that I sent my post to maritime area and I was wondering why nobody reacting to my RFI. Now my RFI was moved to correct place: My apologies for that and I wish you all happy new year!.. Serkan
  10. Thanks Neil, more in direction of Raptor, namely "Raptorsky"... The background model is Italeri F-22... 😁
  11. Hi all, Finally I had a bit time to take some pictures of recently finished "what if" project MiG-37MFI "Super Ferret". I had a lot of fun during this build and like much with the result. I hope you will like too... The entire progress report can be found here: Serkan
  12. Applying a bit force on glued spike very carefully I managed to remove it from its stand. Here are the comparison of printed and original spikes: To place new intake assembly the spike stand needs to be removed. Also the intake lip needs to be shortened by 5mm: The intake assembly fits perfectly although I haven't done any dimensions check with the kit before!.. Most probably pure luck... Next step is to print forward fuselage of Titanium Goose... Serkan
  13. Thanks lot Jeff. When the spike is placed almost none of the details are visible It was also difficult for me to figure out what these strange parts are for. My first impression was that Revell was planning to make Star Wars Naboo Imperial Starship kit, but later they have decided to convert it to Blackbird... Serkan
  14. Here are the parts to be used as the inlet replacements: The port side parts were detached from print base plates and ready for test. The compressor first stage is significantly deformed because of very thin wall thickness but still usable for fit test: The spike has two parts and moved freely forward and backward through spike support: Here is the dry fit of the intake assembly (except inlet duct): The inlet duct fits well to rear part: Here are both inlet and exhaust assemblies side by side: Next step is to perform fit test of inlet assembly: Serkan
  15. By the way I made some comparisons of Revell, Italeri/Testors and 3D printed parts and it seems that there are many issues to be fixed both in exhaust and engine assemblies (I haven't compared the intake assembly yet). Especially the engine is undersized (real engine lenght is 5440mm -> 113.35mm in 1:48 scale, whereas the kit engine has a length of 104mm) I will list all my findings soon. Maybe I should start a new topic not to hijack yours anymore... 🙂 Serkan
  16. As far as I see from the available pictures and the J-58 engine cutouts the afterburner can has two constant diameter sections (also based on old university propulsion lecture days). Am I right?
  17. Today finally I had time to open the seals of my Revell Blackbird and have a look the kit. My first impression is that especially the exhaust assembly is a bit undersized. Also the afterburner can is tapered to give a depth and afterburner rings are also undersized. The engine inlet and compressor stage has similar issues as well. I will add some pictures soon. It would be great if anyone has the dimensions (diameter) of engine inlet guide vane and afterburner can... Serkan
  18. Thanks Colin and sorry for my very late reply. I have recently started another topic in 1:48 scale here: If the the 3D printed fuselage parts from my ongoing CAD project fit well to Italeri/Testors kit and later on recently released Revell kit then I can think about modelling the D-21 drone as well. Serkan
  19. Each build of this amazing collection is a masterpiece. Congratulations... Serkan
