Hi there, I've setup my workbench and found my kit, so if glue and paints are not dry, I should survive my umpteenth comeback to modelling, this time after four years. For this Sherman GB, here's my choice. Dragon M4A3E8 "Thunderbolt VII", which will... not be build as "Thunderbolt VII", but I won't tell you more, at least for the moment. I used to review each kit I build, but not this time, as Terry Ashley does it very well. I've got a few books to help me during thid build. Well, it's about time.

I've setup a temporary workbench, just in time for the upcoming Sherman STGB.

Brits abroad - British subjects in foreign markings Chat
Antoine replied to Giorgio N's topic in Brits Abroad GB
Wez, mate, I do not agree (and I answer here, as I'm unable to move your post anywhere). I my opinion, there's no need to get half the planet to follow you in a GB, as in my mind, a GB is meant to FOCUS on a subject. Because it create maximum share between the participating members. Share of informations, techniques, decals, parts, documentations, etc... Widening the subject cause a dilution of the sharing possibilities. And beside, if I'm interested in Indo Pak war, I'm maybe not in Soccer war, after all. There was a good exemple lately, with the Spanish Civil War. That's a big subject, THE war before THE WAR. It just didn't make it to the vote....Fsd And now, if I want it cleared for the vote, I should mix it under another banner. Come on, we're talking about SCW. -

Indeed! But each time there's a GB idea related to one of those war, it doesn't even make it to the vote, as people here seems to want "mainstream" GB only (BoB, Eastern front, you name it). Therer's simply no place for Third World Small Wars GB on BM. Sadly... -

I'm not surprised... I've lost hope. -
Well, I've made my choice, and it'll be an M4A3E8. I still have to find which box suits my plans better between those two (three in fact, I've another "Thunderbolt VII" without DS tracks).

I know YOU want!

We got to setup an IndoPak wars GB, then. May I suggest those two books, if you want to dig into the operational use of the aircraft? -

Why not? Just make it a PBJ-1C, the conversion should be easy as you can source a nose ASW radar from Obscureco. -
Eleventh Hour GB chat
Antoine replied to Robert Stuart's topic in Eleventh Hour: Commemorating the End of the Great War
In memory of my Grandfathers, I'll do my best to be part of it, we'll see in time. My choice is nearly set, one of those two FT-17, most probably the one without interior. Also, I'd like to build one of those, if the timing's ok. -
Coincidence, Wez, my Grandpa (Father side) went there as well. But I don't know much about him, as if he was lucky enough to survive the War, he died less than ten years after. My Father was then only a little kid, the consequence being that we doesn't know much about him. The other Grandpa came back, too, but crippled in Flanders 1917, having survived La Marne, Champagne, Verdun and the Somme.

Hi Robert, I fully know about KG 40 role, I'm just wondering about this specific Condor, shot down on a shuttle flight to Germany. -
In China, 4 is just the opposite of a lucky number, so they just skip it. There's just no fourth floor on most buildings. You should do the same, I'm sure nobody will notice it.

Hi, thanks a lot, I've also seen it on H website. Don't know if it means that F8+KR/GC+SL was in fact a transport machine. If this is true, then its not eligible for the GB... -

I'm also interested in a FW 200C-4 Condor, more precisely F8+KR from 7./KG 40, that crashed 20km from my home at Saint Nicolas des Biefs on 20 july 1944, during a shuttle flight from La Rochelle to Germany. Was also coded GC+SL before. It was possibly shot down by USAAF fighters. I've already done my own search, but does someone know where to source some decals? It seems that I'll need to mix some Printscale and Xtradecal sheets. -

I've been surprised by the number of eligible kits present in my stash. I've already "eliminated" single engine aircraft, as I want to try for something big. Pure CC, I've two different marks of Flying Fortresses, a Hudson, and I'll certainly get Eduard's Limited Edition Liberator GR. But I'm interested in Matchbox Stranraer, but wondering if there's anything available on the aftermarket, mainly in term of decals? -
Many thanks for sharing those, Ronnie.
