That's just great. This makes me think about a further weaponry question, but concerning the F1. You know that when we sold the aircraft to Irak, there was a lot of weapons and pods developped and integrated to the F1. COR-2, Syrel, BAZAr, you name it. Would it be possible to see all of this stuff available as aftermarket items?

So, where are we now? It's over for 2019, and we're aiming for 2020, right? So, for a good start and to make it crystal clear, what about a new thread with every details and volunteer's listing in the first post, as usual? And maybe a link in this one to the new? 2020 is quite far away, but well, count me in.

Hi Petr, That's just great to see a new Mirage family coming to us. I've a few questions regarding the weapons. The picture at the bottom shows a huge range, and that is most welcome, but there's a few important things missing. Included is an AS37 MARTEL, so we'll certainly get markings for 3ème Escadre, who was in charge of SEAD. But then, what about ECM protection? Barax & Barracuda 1 & 2, with Phimat should fit the bill, and I believe they are already with most of the Mirage F1 boxes. And if there's still room in the armament sprue, it would be nice to have an AN52, together with 4ème Escadre markings

Hi Guys, My stash is not exactly full of Heller kit, and I was wondering if by the way this one would fit the bill (I believe it's ex-Heller, right?)? It happen I'm just above the required age to tackle it. If it's ok, I would just have to find SCW decals. If no, no problem, I'll find somethingg else (DC-6, Canadair, Mirage 5, Fennec, Ouragan, Viggen, at least).

2019 Groupbuild programme - now with dates!
Antoine replied to Enzo the Magnificent's topic in Group Build Chat 2020
You mean.... Me? -
Update? Since I thrown it into the bin back in 2012, I can only hope that it's been recycled since in some better plastic kit....

Italian Hanriot HD-1
Antoine replied to Wez's topic in Eleventh Hour: Commemorating the End of the Great War
Even on a family level, I just don't know to which unit my Grandfather belong, only that he was part of a transmission outfit, so obviously not straight on the frontline. He survived the war, only to die a few years later from disease or by accident (even this is unclear). My father was to young to remember much more anyway. What was your great Grandfather's unit? -

My Grandfather was there as well. The Hanriot is a very nice looking aircraft, very colourfull whatever the owner. -
Meng German Medium Tank Sd.Kfz171 Panther Ausf.A Late Production Zimmerit 1:35
Antoine replied to Mike's topic in Aftermarket
Decals, really? Makes me remember Tamiya's zimmerit set for it's 1/35 Elefant. IIRC, it was more a thin sheet of plastic than a decal. Can we expect some kind of test-fit, just to see the look of it? It would be really nice of you. -
Very good selection of colour options. From the so-called Experten schwarm. That is, until Stahlschmidt saw them emptying their ammo drums into the sand dunes, just before coming back to their airfield to report a dozen abschuss between themselves!

It's ok now, they've linked the true july leaflet.
-
Not for me. The address shows indeed 2018/07 but the title is still june, and the leaflet the same.
-
There must be something wrong, it's still the june one...

But... But... Tony, it's a French kite!!! Did you take your pills? Or did you misread FFAF for FAA? (Bad) jokes appart, it seems you're on your way to another splendid build. There's so much to do with a Blenheim. Got both the I & IV from Airfix, together with some excellent Xtra decal sheet, and I just don't know which one I'll build. Certainly not RAF or FFAF, but it doesn't help much for the choice... Well, looking forward to your next WIP post.

Hi John, This one maybe?
-
I was in fact thinking precisely about those pods. Thanks Joffrey!
-
Thanks, Julien. Certainly one of the best looking jets, ever. By the way, ED stands for Libya, Qatar owned EDA. Despite obvious efforts by SH, I'm still a bit disapointed by the range of weapons/pods/tanks offered, considering the F1 capacity. Lets hope we'll soon find more on the aftermarket. Also, EQ is a bit vague. Looks like its an EQ4?
-
Splendid, really! One (or two) small things, if you don't mind. There should be only one antenna, as there's only one PR4G radio in the vehicle. also, the antenna should really be vertical, as they're really rigid. Only the base could bend a little while the vehicle moves. Again, well done!

Thanks Julien. I've just seen Zéphyr N°28 land at LFLO, but he didn't stay long enough for me to walkaround. I'm sure I'll be able to at the airshow in september.
-
Indeed. SCALP range put it way outside the guidance capacity of the pod. And anyway, it's a fire & forget weapon.
-
On the same line, there's also the FW 190D option, related to the Sachsenberg family, with Gotthard's son Heinz flying it toward the end of ww2 as leader of the famous Papagei Staffel, or Sachsenberg schwarm.

About some references, the only book I know appart Wez's bible, belong to Amos Dor IAF Aircraft serie. But... no drawings there, only colour profiles. You can also get more colour profiles from SAM Colour & Markings about IAF. But... those profiles doesn't show the same lenght for the extended nozzle! Whatever, you should easily sort it out by yourself, working with pics available you'll get quickly the correct lengh and shape.
