  1. Oh man I've always wanted to build this bird! Now I'm not so sure I can after seeing your marvelous rendition! Fantastic job
  2. Check and see if Sprue Brothers or the48ers if they still have an update set for this by Steel-Beach. It's not a lot but it truly is enough to bring this kit up to an accurate and acceptable standard.
  3. Not trying to downplay Floyd's amazing company or future endeavors, but we shouldn't have to rely on an AM source to provide the correct parts. Especially with something as critical as proper tail or main rotors **cough cough Kitty hawk cough cough**.
  4. Now that's a stunner. What's your brush method?
  5. We're not worthy, we're not worthy, we're not worthy! Beautiful. Simply beautiful. That's all that needs to be said.
  6. Shhhhh. We don't speak of the F-38.......
  7. Wowza! Is the darker blue really that rich looking or is it just the pictures?
  8. Nice progress. I love the two-seater SLUF.
  9. Told the guy don't play with my emotions like that.
  10. What's a truckie-thing? And not sure what the difference is between Aeroplanes and Aircraft is but I'm sure it's just semantics.
  11. There's at least SOMETHING in a larger scale for the AH-1G. RM's 1/32 version, which with some care and Werner's Wings updates (mainly the canopy) you can get a beautiful Cobra. And I've never understood why the rage about 1/35 for helicopters. Aircraft are modelled in 1/32 scale, so why complain if it's not in 1/35? There needs to be a 1/48 option for this helicopter. There really is a demand for it. I for one would probably buy 2 dozen of them if they are accurate and have no issues.
  12. Yes! It's entirely possible, but it's not incorrect. I highly doubt that decals made by Furball would've been wrong as Geoff highly researches his subjects. I did some double checking and the markings are correct. VF-31 DID have LANTIRN capability in '97. I found a photo of said aircraft with the label of being at Fallon in October of that year and if you look closely you can see the pod hanging off the pylon.
  13. I've got 3 of these in the stash I need to get around to but yours looks great.
  14. You caught the comment elsewhere about the GPS dome on the spine correct? It should not be there for this aircraft in VF-31 as they did not have LANTIRN capability until 2000's.
  15. I'm confused. So the the variant with dorsal fin fillet, which was released in August, is ONLY available vie a limited edition kit and that's it? If one missed on it then you're SOL?
  16. Too big to and way off the mark for an OH-58- style airframe. Think more of a medium category. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/30136/no-bells-invictus-armed-scout-helicopter-isnt-stealth-but-it-aims-to-be-fast-and-cheap There's a lot I've read about this concept so far out of what's available for the moment and I'm still trying to get down all of my thoughts for it. For now however the thing I would consider the most is a) survivability, i.e. small-medium arms damage, b) maneuverability, and c) noise. And that's just the aircraft itself, not considering the budget availability as of yet. The problem with the US Army (primarily however all the services are guilty of it, looking at you USAF.) is that they try to reinvent the wheel everytime there's a new requirement produced. Since budget is going to be a concern for future procurements why not use what's available oof the shelf like an updated MH/AH-6.
  17. My dad worked on the Comanche project at the Pentagon in the mid-90's. Will be very interesting to see how far this actually goes and what they've done to make it more contemporary indeed.
