Okay. WHIFF operational markings/configurations are acceptable correct? I’ve always intended to show it as it would be if it had finally made it to line units. Cool fact about the Comanche is that my dad worked on the project in the mid-90s while stationed at the Pentagon so there’s a bit of a personal connection to it.

Wonder if this would be the best opportunity for finally building my 1/48 RAH-66 Commanche I’ve had staring at me from the stash shelf.

@RidgeRunner I’m interested in that shark mouth Thud in the background of 071s photo. Happen to snap it as well?

Republic F-84 Jet fighter series STGB Chat
whiskey replied to RidgeRunner's topic in Republic F-84 Jet fighter series STGB
Awesome! Thanks for the add. I’ve never looked at the F-84 as a subject that I would like to model before. Not really sure why as I am a huge admirer of both its predecessors and successors (talking about you Mr. Thud), so this will be a new one for me. There’s something about that swept-wing on the F model however, and after seeing the Dutch ones in camo, I feel like it’s something I can accomplish with this GB. Having said all of that, I went ahead and ordered the Kinetic 1/48 F-84F with the intention of building with the KLu. -

50+ year old jets designs still in service
whiskey replied to Nigel Bunker's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Not a jet, but the AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter first took flight on September 7, 1965 and will be 60 years old next year. Many of the original airframes are still in operation with the Philippines Air Force. -
Leaning towards doing something different from the norm of a fighter jet, so I’m thinking either an 1/48 Special Hobby AH-1S or a Monogram AH-1F. Marking options are limited when it comes to Germany based Cobras but aiming for something from 2ACR for this project.

Floyd, I have a couple questions since you're here and working on this kit. 1) Do I need your Main Rotor Deflector? 2) M-159 pods with 10 or 17lb warheads? 3) Any chance that you will be doing some decal sheets for it? I want to build a 2ACR and a 4-7 CAV snake that my dad flew in Korea (81-82) in addition to the markings available provided in the kit. 4) I'd absolutely love to see how you put your HSS together if possible. I think that is all I have to ask (for now).

Tamiya 1/48 F-4B VF-92 USS Enterprise

Images are all broken links. -
Oh wow. Corrected I am indeed. Nice.

I've been waiting for this for about 30 years. To say that it has been at the top of my modelling wants list is an understatement. Thanks for the review, well appreciated.

Your rocket pods are on backwards.

1/48 - North American P-51B/C Mustang by Eduard - P-51B released

I guess I'll be holding off on purchasing anymore Tamiya kits in that case. -
I feel as though I will be in a position next year to participate in this. A lot of options to choose from.
-
I’ll give it a try.

What are the dates for this one again? I may be able to toss my name in. Mustangs are not exactly difficult to put together…

If you're still trying to keep it under a certain budget I'd go with the Monogram versus any of the other options. Just look at Darren Roberts contributions in Hyperscale, FineScale Modeler, etc.
