  1. I still have the Aeromaster sheet in 1/48 for these guys, always wanted to do that first aircraft.
  2. I was under the impression that the original poster was referring to 1/48 in his question.
  3. Doesn't include VF-74, but Furball still offers a whole sheet of F-4S' in TPS. https://www.furballaero-design.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=48-063
  4. I'll take a few! @CT7567 hit the nail on the head in regards to the nose fairing as the Spanish RF-4C's used both types so you have to make sure which one you're using.
  5. Like this? http://www.millcreekconsultants.com/WP72-A112.html
  6. Try the Minnesota Air Guard with there large blue tails.
  7. That would be why I said it has had several markings throughout her career and are produced by several manufacturers.
  8. Can't really beat the Tamiya line of F-16 kits. However, like any other aircraft modelling subject, everything depends on what unit, timeframe, country, etc. that you are looking to depict to really find the right one. Still probably going to be a Tamiya though.
  9. According to Peter E. Davies in USAF F-4 Phantom MiG Killer 1965-68 the aircraft in question is 64-0660, a triple MiG killer. The same aircraft in the previous link I posted and this one as well. 64-0660 is an odd one however as I have one source that states "F-4C 64-0660(15th TFW, 47th TFS)hit by SA-2 over the Ninh Binh bridge, North Vietnam. Capt Chambless M.Chesnutt KIA. 1th Lt Michael D.Chwan KIA. Sept 30, 1965." A few F-4's out there made it a long time in their lives with various units, liveries, and schemes. Fortunately there are a few decal manufacturers that have covered some of those aircraft in their different colors as well, this one of them. I've had plans to do this one, and others, throughout their careers.
  10. https://www.arcair.com/Gal3/2301-2400/Gal2386-F-4C-Roberts/00.shtm
  11. Since these decals are scaled for the Testors kit, do we know if they will fit the Hypersonic kit based on measurements?
  12. That's the F-4X, otherwise known as the F-4ES. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/ultrafast-f-4x-f-4es-odyssey-israels-recce-phantoms/ What was the scale? Pretty cool to see that as a model for once.
  13. Gaaaahhhh my eyes!! Good Lord that is bright Martin! Im glad to see that the build turned out as well as it has, especially after all of the research you put into it. Great job!
  14. Love it! I still have not picked this up but when I do I hope to do as nice of a job as yours.
  15. Wow. I dunno how you guys do it with these smaller scales but that is simply beautiful. Great job.
  16. I wonder if the refueling probe could withstand the back force generated by the GAU when fired and not snap off.
  17. Defending the fleet has more precedence than doing MiG sweeps, hence the higher kill ratio. Plus, the F-4 still holds that title as far as I am aware.
  18. Ah ok. In that case, going back to the original question of the Aires cockpit, I have not read of one being used on the Monogram kit. At least not the resin. Photo etch pieces for other F-4s yes but not the Aires resin. I suppose it is entirely possible though as I have read build articles that used resin cockpits on the ESCI kits that were designed for the Hasegawa. Two other notes real quick. 1) Black Box made a resin cockpit for the R/M F-4C/D so if you can find one of those it'll do the trick and 2) if you try the Aires resin tub let us know how it turns out!
  19. It's this kit correct? If so then it is a Hasegawa rebox, according to scalemates at least. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-04583-f-4-c-d-phantom-ii--105968
  20. I've got one, along with a few of the various Italeri releases and Paragon bits to correct them. I just don't know if I really can bring myself to put either one together considering all of the work needed to do so. I've seen some amazing builds of both manufacturer's kits but like you basically said, not sure if it's worth it.
  21. Hopefully they are going to continue the Huey producing factory and give us a new B/C in 1/48. Even better would be all the single engine Cobras! Great review Mike, thanks.
  22. It's a rebox of the Hasegawa kit so yes, an Aires cockpit will work.
