  1. I remember the bomber variant from BAe Salmesbury. In the early 80's, they had several of these which were intended for sale to the Argentinian Air Force, but due to, er 'political issues' they ended up stuck at Salmsebury until they were flogged off for '£1' each!!!!! Buyer had to pay for collection and delivery. I was lucky enough to get passage into one Canberra during a family open day in the mid-80's. These beasts were panted in sky blue and I remember (apart from almost damaging my wedding tackle on the yolk) that most of the instruments were held on with rubber bands and tape. These pics bring back loads of memories of the 'cable management' of the Canberra. What a stunning design. To me, they go hand in hand with the E.E. Lightning. Beautiful machine. Pity we can't have designs like this today Jim
  2. Nice build. Wish I'd gone to the Bolton show! Jim
  3. Lovely work! Makes me want to build a Ruskie model!
  4. Great work! I come from 'Lightning Country', near enough to Warton and Preston where these were built. My dad saw the red painted prototype fly as he fished in the river Ribble. There's a nice example on the entry gate to BAe Salmesbury (along with a Canberra). I like the silver finished one especially! Jim
  5. NICE!!! I built one of these as a kid. Wish I'd had the foresight to save it. Lovely work. Thanks for sharing! Jim
  6. I second. thats where I used to buy it for polyprop piping. It stinks to high heaven! Jim
  7. Beautiful work. It's great seeing Luftwaffe aircraft in Allied colours
  8. Thanks for the welcomes guys. I was thinking that it would have to be the vac form route for such models. Oh well! We can live in hope. Work on my Me262 has stalled (no pun intended) while I await spare parts for the Jumo's. Afraid they ended up getting a liberal drenching in Liquid Poly with a loose lid. :shithappens: As for Boltonians....actually, I'm in Horwich which is close to it, but no bugger seems to know that place!
  9. Great pics, miduppergunner. This is the stuff I find inspirational!
  10. Hi all, This is my first post here , and I found your link from Large Scale Planes (whre I didn't seem to be able to make any posts!) At the moment, I'm building a Trumpeter 1/32 Me262A-2A complete with Eduard Big-ED set. I hope to be able to get some pics of this uploaded when she is complete. In the meanwhile, I have a penchant for LARGE scale airplanes, and wish to build something like a Ju88/188/288 variant, or a Dornier Do17/215/217. Are there any kits available in either 1/32 or 1/24 for these subjects, or similar German subjects? Detail is the theme, and as much as possible. Again, great to be here at Britmodeler, as a fellow Brit!! Salut! Jim
