  1. Here's one more: Glad you like that. I'd never done a 'what-if' before. I'm always a little uncomfortable about making things that never existed.
  2. From me this year, I have probably more models built than normal due to having to complete projects for publication. So from me, we have: Zoukei-mura Ta 152H-1, for the forthcoming 'Concept Note' book: Zoukei-mura Kyushu Shinden, built for Japan trip, and now to be seen at Hobby Square Kyoto Trumpeter Me 262A-2a/U2, for forthcoming book on digital photography MDC Typhoon, for forthcoming book on digital photography, and used on the Filla-Glu advertising campaign Tamiya Spitfire Mk.IX for forthcoming book on digital photography Hasegawa Bf 109K for forthcoming book on digital photography AVIS Fokker D.VIII for forthcoming book on digital photography I also completed a Revell He 162 for the same digital photography book, but I have no photos. I think there were a couple more, but my memory fails me.
  3. Bloody hell! What a number, and they look great! I think the Ar 234 and Dauntless are my favourites.
  4. It is a great kit. You'll need to replace those bulged tyres though as the daft buggers went and bulged their rims out too!
  5. Garth, that is bloody gorgeous! Now if I send you my other one, then you can build it for me and post it back What do you think you can do with the Matchbox/Revell DH Sea Venom?
  6. I thought the title amusing. Best Manufacturer; Time to look outside Airfix. Airfix don't even fall in the top 100 of best manufacturers IMHO.
  7. Great looking airbrush. I've always wanted to try one of these.

If it's Aqueous, you can thin with tap water, but I thin both these and the regular Mr Color paint with Mr Thinners. I thin 50:50 and spray at 15 to 20 PSI. It goes on like liquid silk. Mr Levelling Thinner isn't too easy to buy in the UK. I had to sneak a bottle in my case back from Japan.
  9. Don't forget that the duty you pay is based on the whole package, including your shipping costs. If the kit cost £75 and the postage is £20, then you pay duty on £95
  10. Hi folks, I've had to build this to an uber-deadline, but here is the new Zoukei-mura Ta 152H-1 in 1/32. An absolute pleasure to build, loads of detail and one hell of a wingspan for a fighter! This build took about 1 week to complete.
  11. These aren't being sold at Telford. I have the one spare kit to pop on display.
  12. Ay'up, With the new 1/32 Zoukei-mura Ta 152H-1 being released this weekend, I thought I'd post a couple of pics up here for you. The first is a photo I took of a completed kit at ZM HQ, and the second is a kit I am working on for publication. The kit fits wonderfully, and no filler needed except for a fleas-nads worth on the front of the engine casing. I'm afraid your putty and card are going to have to take a back seat here. For those interested, there will be a brand new Ta 152 kit on show, with some ZM literature at the Bolton IPMS stand at SMW Telford.
  13. That stuff is Mr Metal Color. You can use a paintbrush as well as an airbrush. I hand-painted some chrome earlier, and then buffed it to an amazing shine....10 mins after applying it. The colour range is superb too.
  14. I have one of these, and very nice they are too.
  15. I don't know if the Zoukei-mura Ta 152H-1 will have hit the UK shores at that point, but I'll be bringing one down, and it will be living on the Bolton IPMS stand for those that want to see it.
  16. Bloody gorgeous! Camo masked or freehand? EDIT....whoops, saw it's freehand
  17. I understand what you mean. Perhaps my phraseology is wrong.
  18. Nothing that is reviewed on my site is EVER sold on. I consider selling something which is freely given to be immoral, but that's my own stance. Whatever is supplied to us is either used by the reviewer, or they are passed onto model clubs such as Bolton IPMS or Medway IPMS. Some items are raffled for causes such as the British Heart Foundation, and now to the Royal Air Force Association. Noboby on my team will EVER sell items generously donated.
  19. Ay'up all, I am in desperate need of a quality wooden plinth for a 1/32 Zoukei-mura Shinden. The model is complete and ready for me to take to Japan in just over 3 weeks, so I need a reliable supplier who can despatch quickly. Can anybody help?
  20. I apply XDFF over both acrylic paint and Klear with no ill effects at all. I love it
  21. It's great stuff Garth. It drys absolutely matt and leaves the paint with no tint to it. Just thin 50:50 with enamel thinners or a good white spirit. I spray at about 15PSI.
  22. You hit the nail on the head. Late yesterday I decided to do a 'what if' and finish it in RAF colours for evaluation at RAE Farnborough in 1950. It should look very interesting.
  23. Ay'up, I am currently working on the Zoukei-mura Shinden, and my 'brief' is not to produce something 'obvious' with relation to the finished colour scheme. As I want to depict a 1946 machine, then I really am at liberty to do as I wish, as long as it looks Japanese, and not outside the realms of possibility. I was considering a machine with yellow/orange lightning strikes, or rays from the Rising Sun depicted in its scheme. This model is to hopefully be published in a magazine, with the finished model itself presented by myself to the President of Zoukei-mura, Mr Hideyuki Shigeta, in Kyoto. As you can see, this really needs to look good, and I want the scheme to be totally eye-catching and unique! Can the good folks of Britmodeller provide any inspiration on the more bizarre Japanese schemes of WW2? Jim
