Yes! i did think of that originally when i was going to have a 1/24 scale modified motorbike rider pilot ( the Lambo's 1/24 ), like having him ride forward laying down, legs out back like on a Batman bike, but his legs would have gone into the back too far and i need that space for electronics/wings. Also I wanted to make the X-wing bigger so the pilot had to be smaller so i went 1/35 (also more figures to mod into pilot at 1/35) so bike style seat would have worked then too but his head would have been a bit close to windscreen. But then i had an idea of him sitting upright like normal X-wing pilot, but with multiple head up displays in front of him and that just seemed to look more right in the Lambo cockpit. Its still a cool idea though. Staying on bikers .. I had an idea for making a copy of this Knight of Ren bike, see far right picture http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=252496&p=3851850&viewfull=1#post3851850from a Tamiya motorbike, a Bandai Speederbike (front steering poles/vanes out the back) and a modded Vader. I got the kits for it, but by the time i get round to building it ( i have a mountain of Bandai kits to build allready, plus i want to repaint the remote/voice activated R2 unit and Kylos helmet and mod his saber at some point ) the real Knight of Ren and Bike concept or something better might have come out in a film giving better reference to build a more accurate replica. So ill shelve that idea and prob get it done when im 90 hahaa! Or i might build a snow speederbike instead they look cool in white. Re X-Wing build, I wanted to build the X-wings, wings from a 1/4" square Aluminium rod running the length of the wing with a 1/4" frame built off that in Evergreen hollow square tube, but one of those two isnt quite 1/4" maybe the plastic Shrinks after being extruded? and whatever i try to make up the difference doesnt work. I cant have uneven thickness on the wings or they wont look right closed. So im thinking about making the wings from sheet Aluminium (for strength) clad top and bottom in styrene sheet. This would look better on the wingtips too as they wouldnt be so thick. This builds been 99% thinking 1% building so far haha! I dont know what im doing half the time but its fun!

Re Snowspeeder: If its done in a 3D Program, it should be easy for Dragon to still make changes. If they can slide the mount for the front of the gunbarrel up to meet the side of the cockpit (ref: http://caps.pictures/198/0-starwars5/full/star-wars5-movie-screencaps.com-2915.jpg) that should (along with straighter gun barrels) also toe-in the gun barrels. I also noticed that the front barrel ends on the life size prop did have some slight recessed details on them (ref: http://caps.pictures/198/0-starwars5/full/star-wars5-movie-screencaps.com-2911.jpg ) http://caps.pictures/198/0-starwars5/full/star-wars5-movie-screencaps.com-2986.jpg How cool is that view out the window, what a cool design! Hopefully at this early stage of the design ( these arnt in Phase one ) Dragon can make changes and shorten the front end too, id love to have two of them, but only if they are more accurate.

Cheers Rob, i do like to dream! I had more thoughts on a costume: Helmet: Boba Fetts chopped similar side profile to Kylo Rens Helmet, with added Samurai Skirt round sides and back. Front middle vertical slash in helmet filled with single line of flush vertical cubes, leaving original horizontal eye opening clear. Torso: Boba Fett with shoulder cloak and slashcut cloth over shoulders. Strap of thermal detonators accross chest. Bobas Pistol and belt minus big front pouches. Custom Jet pack, with missile if it doesnt hit his helmet. Arms: Kylo Ren with Boba's added shoulder armour and forearm gizmos. Legs: Kylo Ren with Boba's knee armour and feet. Plus Kylos inner tunic but only below the belt and tatty, split at sides, back piece tapers in the lower it gets. Sabre: Kylo's with new light blue unstable blades At 1/12 that should look awesome! At 1/35 i might have to miss a few details off, esp the backpack if hes flying lol, maybe the back pack can fit on back of X-wing seat and act as an ejector seat!

Oh thats not too big then, id seen the "130 meters in length" and "bigger than two jumbo jets" pre production ideas, AT-AT vs Smaug would look good but i fear the AT-AT would look like a Salmon being taken by an Eagle!

Cheers Matt, bonkers it is! happy to have you along for the journey! I had an idea for how id look in STAR WARS, i was thinking of a modified Boba Fett helmet with added Samurai Style "Skirt" round the sides/back, then a mix of cloth and body armour for the body, looking more like a Knight of Ren, all scratched up from battles, with a light blue crossblade Lightsaber, a pistol and a few thermal detonators.. and a jet pack! Im thinking of doing a 1/35 seated pilot and also once this models finished a seperate 1/12 figure based on a Bandai Boba figure too! See ya later!

Smaug would be huge in 1/35 lol, id still like to se a Avatar dragon? the green/blue ones, the blue (names escape me) people fly around on

Look how awesome the "real" Snowspeeder looks thou, with its shorter nose it just looks right, its a really good design, proportionally correct to itself. To build anything in 1/35 Star Wars and not get it looking right is SUCH a MASSIVE wasted opportunity. Who wants to be known as the company that did some 1/35 kits years ago, but now theres better ones.. so no-one cares.. or.. be known as a LEGEND, a company that nailed it and gained HUGE respect, by building models that might one day be equalled, but NEVER be surpassed, models that will sell forever! In the future, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and build a more accurate kit, tell your competitiors that they may make good kits, but they'll never take your market share as you are STAR WARS LEGENDS!!!

Hes definatley seen some action! Great work on the recycling of parts to make the backpack!

Yes your right it was! I didnt realise when i saw the film (4times! haha! ) i just assumed it was the Rebels landing craft, but in that picture it does look like its got B-wing DNA in it for sure.
-
Haha! that would look cool, the back cooling blades on the Snowspeeder would make a good BBQ too, stick its guns into the grass!
-
In 1/35 scale too!!! Im glad i got 2 AT-ST's & 2 Snowspeeders from Bandai, now i just need them to make a 1/48 AT-AT. These are "Prototypes" from Dragon, but will they go back and do it ProtoRight? i REALLY hope so! Id love 1/35 Star Wars but id only be buying 1/35 once so it would have to look right. Im hoping this is all a bad dream and ill wake up and at least the nose will be shorter and the guns point in.

episode 7 special forces tie fighter
BobSolo replied to Mike Esposito's topic in Science Fiction Discussion
I think i prefer the original TIE to the N.O. TIE, the classic one has taller/bigger wings and the wing struts looks elegant and get thinner to the outer edges. The N.O. TIE has smaller wings and looks more beefed up with its inner wing strut braces. The SF takes it to the next level and does look totally badass! It looks like it could pull serious fast G's without falling apart. I love all the TIE Fighters though and the noise they make is so cool. I really hope Bandai make a 1/48 or 1/35 SF TIE that would be awesome! -
Oh crap! I was hoping these would be good.. Heres the Bandai for comparisson too:

Thank you! May the Force be with you too!

Hi Richard, i meant Episode 8 or 9. We have a new X-wing/Ties/Star destroyer/stormtroopers/AT-AT, it makes sense to me that they will give the old Y-Wing a refresh/update too, we might even see a new B-wing!

Kev, I have a feeling there will be an all new one in future films, like we went from T-65 to T-70 maybe new B-wing too! -
"A little 1/35 AT-ST teaser before the weekend. Official photos coming soon!" Painted AT-ST Twitter https://twitter.com/dragonmodels?lang=de Looking at pictures it would seem the AT-ST's on hoth had their windows closed, would make sense as its cold outside, but can they even see where theyre going like that? As this AT-ST is the Hoth one maybe Dragon intend on doing a second altered version with opening windows for Endor? Even without an interior or pilots i think the windows and top hatch should open.

Thanks! I was surprised how good it looked tbh haha! You never really know till you start chopping things in half, the front pointy bits kinda remind me of dragons claws on thier wings, makes it look more evil and streamlined, it will be interesting to see how they look with wings open/closed from different angles. Hahaaa! yup i read bounty's like this: "5 million credits - Dead or Alive " Vaders nuts.. he said he was my father i shot at his Star Destroyer for fun and he went crazy! but i have an extra engine, so he cant catch me hahaaaaaa!

episode 7 special forces tie fighter
BobSolo replied to Mike Esposito's topic in Science Fiction Discussion
I think the new FA regular Tie looks a lil plain on the outside of the cockpit/ball compared to the original Tie, the new SF Tie is much better imo theres more going on with the cogs, lower gunpod, twin engines, colour stripe. You can get them on Ebay too. Have fun whichever you get they are all cool. -
Thats great masking there! Looking forward to see how this model progresses!
