  1. Hes starting to have a personality! So cool, keep at it your doing great!
  2. Thanks guys happy you like it too! I was thinking about using Bandai TIE wing panels for my wing ends, but that would cost more and look a lil bit more delicate. The grooved wing tips on the pic remind me a lil bit of the strips on TIE wings anyway & i can use Evergreen grooved sheet or strips from my stash. I did then think of making the smooth panels from TIE wings, but i quite like that part of the wing smooth it contrasts well with the wingtips and the roundness of the intakes. So it will prob look just like the MkIII pic. Ive been looking at Jets for this for ages, highly detailed resin jets are either too big/small. Then i was using some lipbalm and thought omg i could maybe use the top from one of these and turns out they are the right size, super light and they might as well be free! They have no detail yet so id have to put something inside them like a fan blade mounted over the 5mm LED and adding detail to the outsides should be easy enough, the tops are even dished in to aid drilling, definatley worth a try. Thanks for looking, may the Force be with you!
  3. Re-coated the wing ends with new panels, going for the same look as the characters leg/thigh armour. Happy Modeling!
  4. Thank you rockpopandchips! Im happy with the way he looks, badass/dark/mysterious with a more Samurai/Knight of Ren style. With short knee length robe/armour, a small cape and shoes not boots, hes still light on his feet for Saber combat. Thanks for your thoughts on the X-wing concept, im always open to feedback and ideas. I agree, when i originally did that picture i based it over the top of a T-70 picture to get the essence of the X-wing, to help guide me on what made it look like it did. But yeah i hadnt got round to doing something with the wing ends on the picture, so they are T-70 shape and do look at odds with the lambo in the pic, (it will all be battered when painted though) and they did look a lil simple & heavy on the back end of the rear wings. I always planned on cleaning the guns up a bit, making them slighlty slimmer and more aerodynamic, the guns are still to be finalized yet, the main body of the guns will probably end up square/diamond in cross section, not round, to give a more "Stealth" look and give a kicked up/down 45 degree look to the wing tips. I did have an earlier idea of giving it swept forward wings, then just sweeping forward the lower wing ends to line up with the intake but it took away from what made the X-wing such a cool looking ship. It was the cross like look to it, the straight line through the center of the wings and how they come together to form one wing when closed. Originally i had thought of this X-wing as a prototype (similar to Darths X1 TIE) but stolen from the Empire/Rebels/First Order. So i wanted it to retain some T-70 DNA or even borrow some bits, but over the last few weeks i had thought about leaving the wing ends smooth with very few or no panel lines at all. Front on i want to keep the "sandwich with mechanical filling" look thats in so many star wars ships. Ive updated the concept so you can see where im at now, with the outline shape changes on traling edge of back wings. It looks so much better and more agile when compared to the earlier look. It also reminds me of a calf muscle on a leg, the gun being the foot haha! I also put the roof on as the seat was a 1/24 Lambo leather one, not the 1/35 seat unit i will scratch/kitbash for it. MkII pic Thanks for looking! Happy modeling!
  5. SO COOL, one of the best Y-wings ive ever seen, conrgrats, i look forward to seeing it finished
  6. Bob Solo Concept Wip. Hes Ronin because he killed his Master Thanks for looking, Happy Modeling *Updated with shoulder guard
  7. Now you mention it his mouth does look too low, i look forward to seeing more! Have fun!
  8. Revells SF TIE doesnt even come with a lower gun pod, thats like having an X-Wing with its lower guns missing! Not that it could ever fly.. it doesnt even have a pilot. Bandai clearly take great pride in their Models and it is much appreciated.
  9. Cool idea, watching with interest Get stuck into the eyes, have fun and enjoy it. You can always redoo them until your happy with the way they look, learning as you go thats part of the fun!
  10. Nobody can stop me getting Bandai kits, i dont live in a license agreement, i live on my planet. In fact if Bandai made a big AT-ST, AT-AT, Snowspeeder, Falcon, Star Destroyers, Medical frigate, i would fly to Japan, have a very nice holiday in a beautiful country, pick all the models up and come home. After reading fans describing this model as a " turd ", " Abortion " & " Did you use the Lego model as reference? " Disneys lawyers should be looking at who gives the green light to these models! With all the reference available and 3D modeling there are no excuses for producing new sloppy Star Wars models. Do Disney care about the iconic Falcon and the Star Wars brand being dilluted? At the very least Disney should sell Bandai kits through Official Disney stores. That way Bandai can profit from making Quality Models and hopefully re-invest some of that into more quality models in the future. Its madness. Im going to go look at my Bandai stash to cheer me up.
  11. Cool, thanks for taking the time to explain the differences! Imo the 5 ft and TFA new sq dish are so cool, theyre so pure and make me tingle with excitement just looking at them, awesome design! I hope Bandai make a huge TFA one, i can imagine it pulling serious G's at 45 degrees ( i should have that in my sig lol ) fully lit tearing through a Star Wars collection screaming AWESOME!
  12. Oh dear, i got quite excited at the thought of a massive Dragon Falcon, but if this lil one is the way of the future im loosing interest fast. Help me oBandai wan kenobi you're my only hope.
  13. I think Lukes boots were shiny, at least to start with. Imo if Jaina is a Jedi she'd be getting in and out in places other than hangars so would probably have some dirt/damage on them.
  14. Cool congrats! i never get tired of seeing this ship! Do those ikea cabinets still have holes in the sides? I had one about 20yrs ago and it let dust in the sides, i thought about sellotaping them shut but it would have looked awfull haha!
  15. Thank you! Me too, it looks better in real life, almost like a lil spaceship haha! Im toying with the idea of putting a few fibre optics in it, but i dont know how accurate that would be too the real Death Star, then again this could be Starkiller Base! Bandai did such an awesome job on these bases, the fine detail is nuts! Hiya, i dont think so, if it was the Death Star id leave that for Luke, but then if this is Starkiller Base.. maybe id drop a cheeky one down there for fun lol. You wouldnt see it thou as it would have long gone down the hole before i passed over it. I will be firing my Torpedo's out of what was the headlights.. now they will fire like the Ventral Cannons on the Finalizer Star Destroyer and home in on targets, both the Torpedos and wing tip guns are powered by Kyber Crystals. Torpedos will light up Blue (charging getting brighter) then fire white and should be slow multi-fire too. Happy Modeling!
  16. Cool and boots/gloves look like leather! Pink on the flares would be a really nice touch. I always wondered was that a body warmer or a bullet proof vest they wore?
  17. Heres what ive been up to, next ill drill a hole in the port/exhaust hole for the metal rod to carry the electrics and greeblie up the gaps between tiles. Im super happy with the way it looks so far, hope you like it too, im off to greeblie land
  18. Im going to finish chopping it tonight if it kills me, my arms nearly falling off! then ill glue it overnight.. hopefully bambooo likes regular wood glue?.. i could always take it to a garage and get it welded hahaaa!
  19. Yeah thats really nice work! the panels arnt overly painted and still retain that flat real metal look, the details are still crisp!
  20. Nice job on the pre-shading it does remind me of hans coat too haha! In the pics with the orange paint coat the right side of the pics look pink on my monitor, is that the look your going for? or are the energy bulbs making it look that way? Enjoying this build!
  21. Im chopping up a Bamboo box from ikea for the base, its like trying to saw through concrete! but im too far down the rabbit hole to stop now hahaa! Why didnt i use regular wood oh thats right.. the box was cheap! although im sure my big wood saw is blunt now Cheers Guys! Theres so much more to come, its going to take a while yet
  22. From the front the Venator class star destroyer reminds me of Jar Jar's face.
  23. http://caps.pictures/198/0-starwars5/full/star-wars5-movie-screencaps.com-3502.jpg http://caps.pictures/198/0-starwars5/full/star-wars5-movie-screencaps.com-3499.jpg Your right the sunroof is quite big on the life size prop above and on the model used below. http://caps.pictures/198/0-starwars5/full/star-wars5-movie-screencaps.com-3166.jpg When measured in pic above, the sloping front of the cockpit canopy is only slightly shorter than the front ends length. That should be easy to fix in a 3D program AND it will save plastic making them cheaper to manufacture! Its a WIN - WIN for everyone!
