  1. This is looking awesome! I think the blue does look odd but then an alien toadstool would look odd to us right? i think they look fantastic! Id be interested to see the model on a white or forest background. If repainting them, an orange or yellow with orange dabs like this might work better. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/8f/5f/90/8f5f90e70d08ee5bb47e4067bd66e816.jpg The snake for some reason doesnt look real and i cant put my finger on why? Maybe itd look better under his boot lol or coming out from the bark. Maybe it looks poisonous but not bright enough for a nasty snake? Or maybe its too chubby or not long enough. Anyways keep at it these are great ideas!
  2. Thanks for the feedback Rob, thats a great idea and i do have some resins and clay and even vacuum chamber to do it too. I think the detail on the TIE solar panels is so good/fine that the resin or esp the mould or is it mold? might not cure. And if it did then releasing the parts from the moulds might crack bits off new parts or mould. Id also want to mould the whole modified wing so i could make just one mould and use the mould for future use, this and having to make moulds for the struts/centers and edging pieces too means the costs of moulds start adding up. If i bought the kits.... *runs upstairs* ive just checked and i have another 3 in my stash allready, but theyd need to be replaced in the future, i could use pretty much all the left over parts on other unofficial Star Wars related models i have imagined plans for so nothing would really goto waste. Casting is a good idea though, maybe i should of thought of that before i bought 12 F.O. Stormtroopers lol, although in reality i wouldnt replicate a whole kit, i do want Bandai to be successful after putting all the hard work into bringing us these awesome kits. Ill keep on looking at different ideas with the wings to see if i can use 2 instead of 4 kits. Cheers Bob
  3. Those Ultra Sabers are cool, i believe Makoto Sabers make some too: http://blog.yam.com/marikoswork/article/30510184 Its still an AT-AT, quotes from http://starwars.wikia.com "AT-ATs were first designed and assembled by Kuat Drive Yards during the Clone Wars. They were evolved from the AT-TE walkers first employed in the Battle of Geonosis, as well as the AT-PT. The first-generation AT-AT walkers saw their debut during the Battle of Jabiim, later on in the Clone Wars." And they dont mind geting their feet wet "Several AT-ATs also broke out of the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Motivator after it was shot down from orbit during the Battle of Kothlis, although Rogue Squadron managed to down them in the ocean" The AT-AT's vehicle bay at the walker's rear held five Speeder Bikes, how cool would that be to have them in the back of a model.
  4. Great ideas, i esp love the bone and ferns, the sculpted shrooms are cool too!
  5. Thanks guys! Ive been toying with the TIE wing idea, it might just work! the wings are a bit floppy though, so id double/glue two up like a sandwich, downside is it uses just over half a wing, so both TIE wings for one X wing! id need to use 4 TIE kits... gulp! If i filed the plastic solar relief grooves back and added two extra wing struts (top and bottom along where the wings join to form one) that might stiffen just one wing so it wouldnt bend/twist under the weight of the gun.. if that doesnt work though it'd be an expensive mistake and i think the wings would look better as thicker sandwiched wings. I plan on putting the edge pieces all round the solar panes which will also hopefully stiffen them up. On the plus side i reckon ill have enough bits left over for a 12" matching speederbike for my 1/12 character and 4 other (secret for now) builds, plus the Bandai 1/48 Xwing (with better lighting kit added) so that helps me sleep better haha! I guess im only building this once so 5.. or now 6 times over budget whats the difference. This is another solution, i moved the tie wing up under the paper cut out, so i can use both top / bottom halves of it , unfortunately then the diagonal strut doesnt line up with the "winglet" on the back and is further out. So i made the winglet longer and deeper to keep the angles the same, but now it looks too wide & long on the back edge. Compared to the first idea its not as good i think, this looks more heavy and less agile. Another shot of it for scale, to the back left of the engine that lil tab gets compromised too: I will keep mucking about with ideas, any feedback always welcome, cheers.
  6. Cool idea, the parts look like they belong together and thats a nice size too!
  7. The AT-AT's have different head/guns/bodies, maybe Bandai were waiting so they could release a kit with head & body mods for both versions? I think they will bring us the original AT-AT in 1/48 for sure though. An AT-AT was displayed (albeit a walking one) at their exhibition along with the Star Destroyer. Those new Death Troopers? have new guns too! Yes i hope Bandai do some for sure. I agree ive been hoping they would do a Tropical beach in Star Wars for ages, I even want my Bob Solo character to have a lagoon hideout on a distant Tropical Moon. And i was going to sneak some Banana plants and Palms into a future AT-ST Dio. I wonder if there is a new AT-ST for this Rogue Film?
  8. After seeing the Rouge One trailer: Im super pumped for what Bandai can make in the future! Those new troopers look awesome! The Clone Troopers are cool, i like the phase 2 best so swapable helmets are welcome, i also like the Clone Scout Troopers! Queen Amidala's Royal Starship was cool, reminded me of the Blackbird plane.
  9. Oh great work on the batton it looks so cool now! I think you should try the cattle prod capacitors too and see how it looks, you can always leave them off if it looks better like this.
  10. Kick bottom! Thats a really cool idea/ build/ paint, looking forward to seeing more! loool it changed a donkey to bottom...
  11. The round shield reminds me of Captain America. She looks so badass with just the batton, like she doesnt even need a shield and just wants to give a crim a full on knuckle/batton bashing haha!
  12. Hes comming along nicely, the red really does add some extra Awesome!
  13. X-wing arrived, motor looks like it will just fit in, the wing bases see saw, so i tested the motors torque with a big thick roll of Tamiya tape on just one top wing base and it still opened/closed smoothly so all good, i cant see why it wouldnt open/close my bigger wings, which should be almost the same weight side/side anyways! Phew! And on the plus side i wont be using this beautiful kits wings or any other parts, the exhausts are way to small, so that will make a nice model too! Anyways pics! An idea of where im going with this: I revisited the character and omg the helmet concept was rubbish lol so i re-did it. And finally i am going too look again at the idea of making the wing ends from TIE Fighter solar panels, i think that they can look better too, Bandai's Ties come with the struts seperate from the pannels, so easily modded or left off and the early OT TIE's wings might just be big enough to work something cool looking. Thanks for looking, all feedback welcome, happy modeling
  14. I dont think so, i check their Fb & Twitter from time to time. https://www.facebook.com/dragonmodels/?fref=photo https://twitter.com/dragonmodels?lang=de Also this thread and the one on The RPF (ReplicaPropForum) http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=251476&page=10&s=b44a389469e75dd5fcfe55a45e8afeac
  15. Search for pictures of the actual prop model taken at the Star Wars identities Exhibition, they are good reference material as are the films, good luck. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Star+Wars+identities+Exhibition&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=T0P8VvzYK8HrPtygr4gM
  16. So cool, beautiful paint, even though it went wrong it still has a liquid like gloss effect in the sun and looks used. I Also quite like the slant on it, like the mechanic has had to deactive something to work on it and when hes done it will self level again. Great job on the bottle too! I really want to jump in this and have a go flying it haha! Congrats on a great Build/Diorama
  17. Superb! Its awesome to watch you build/paint this!
  18. Love this! Has a real nasty looking, mean, but somehow natural/alive look to it. Awesome paintjob too congrats! Imo most things in space would be weatherd. Apart from Solar & cosmic dust damage, space would be full of junk if we were in it. look at the mess weve made of our seas/planet, even our satelites have poluted near space with masses of junk. Add to that the lawless vastness of space, most ships will be fighting and when you blow up a ship it explodes and dumps fluids and bits all over your ship or in space for someone else to run into.
  19. Great imagination and building, i can totally see this in a not too distant future, i love hover boats!
  20. Awesome! Another one of your cool threads to add to my bookmarks for future reference! Along with your other builds you really help us all make better models, so thankyou for taking the time to show this build and with great photography too! Good luck with the rest of him! .. come to think of it, i did hear a regular Stormtrooper with a female voice on Star Killer base. I look forward to seeing more
  21. Yeah these are awesome designs, really really cool, show us more please!
  22. Really cool build and cape/head mod congrats!
  23. Cool ideas and scratch building! I think the Fighting Pig is my fav! I can imagine that underwater exploring distant moons or hovering blowing up aliens or a spaceship, it could be anything anywhere!
