  1. Loved the first film but the sequels new designs are not doing much for me
  2. The Mothership thing was just personal conjecture- I am hardware orientated and my head is always trying to figure out how things work practically, even off screen. I do know they showed the interior control cabin in a couple of shows and the details was not always consistant- ther is an old thread on Hobbytalk http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/99-science-fiction-modeling/222817-invaders-saucer.html in which the saucer interior, leg articulation and hull shapes are discussed at great length with some great insider information. Below are some images I have found which may help. Detail of above prop:
  3. I make it a point to open and check the contents of a kit when I get it- a couple of times I have found a defective or missing part. Even with online purchases it is easy to get things fixed the day after delivery. Most mass produced kits are from China, which often has lousy quality control. Both Round2 and Moebius have had a lot of problems with decals as well, probably due to rushed production and a factory that just focuses on volume shipped.
  4. There is just a pile of money waiting to be sent to you once you get the word out. I really do not have much interest in the box scale ISD myself, but with a base like this I would get one just for the display appeal.
  5. What an astounding display idea! You should post this around om RPF, HT & SSM- I think a lot of people would be interested in this
  6. Why not just have some fun adding details and greebly to the interior- it always looked too blank and functionless to me. When you think about it, the craft we have seen look more like local transport craft instead of something capable of travelling interstellar distances. Wonder what a mothership would look like...
  7. I just got the 1:1000 classic D-7 prepaint kit. I have a number of kits of this already, but I went for the prepaint just because it has two weird colors- a soft lavender and off-mint green, which match the original filming model. These are two colors that would be a real bear to match and apply without an airbrush. The other kits I will build and modify into some alternate versions, but I wanted at least one which was in the classic colors. Last week I got a Bandai 1:72 A-Wing. People were upset that the kit may not be to scale when compared to some model shots from RotJ (story is that ILM just dropped in a generic pilot of a different scale to save time), but it does match scale with a full size prop built for Star Wars 8- The Last Jedi. It is great kit and I love the smaller gun tower they included with it, which I think is 1:144 scale- opinions?
  8. That old kit was an abomination, but it's repop did sell well enough for Round2 to decide to take the chance on the 1:48 kit.
  9. Link to an image of the product page from Hobbytalk this morning (electric indigo) http://www.taghobby.com/?p=160735 Looks like we will be able to pose it in a crash scene, does not appear to include scaled Snowspeeders or gun emplacements...
  10. I am only going to have space and funds for one large 1:48 Eagle- I do hope after Round 2 has fully milked the special edition route they will consider offering individual pods or 1:72 versions...
  11. Zero bids, now relisted (for the same price) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-Gerry-Anderson-Joe-90-Mac-039-s-Car-vintage-Japanese-plastic-model-MIB-RARE-/262762379531?
  12. You might want to check over on the web site EagleTransporter.com That is a great hub for all things involving Gerry Anderson's universe- people there are w well wired into what's available and how to enhance older kits...
  13. It may not be critical for the plot but I do hope they have a couple of Tachikoms make an appearance. Aside from being a cool concept in equipment I would like to see them in the 'real world' with state of the art CGI. I do think the film seems to capture the feel of the animated series fairly well
  14. I like this subject! I guess since the original kit had lights they felt this one needed them too. The color is a bit odd but with some washes and panel work I think it will look good.
  15. Depends on the exchange rate by the time April rolls around...
  16. The Bandai 1:144 kits are incredible- I am going to get a couple for displaying next to my Falcon when I get it finished.
  17. Unfortunately the way Bandai does their color by secions of palstic shapes they would have to make an all new tool fo change the markings that much.
  18. When I was looking around on eBay last week I saw several people offering Blue Squadron Decal markings
  19. It has been mentioned that Revell will be selling these kits reboxed in other markets a few months from now.
  20. There have been some excellent buildups of the old MPC kit- I would suggest checking out the forums on EagleTransporter.com This thread is about modifying the MPC/Round 2 Deluxe Eagle kit- it takes a bit to get started but some great info there: http://www.eagletransporter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=161808 That is the first one I could think of at the moment, but that forum has a number of threads about modifying the kit is question.
  21. Maybe have that X-shaped hi resolution tracking unit on top of the bridge rotate 90 degrees from passive to pursuit mode? We only see it up and active when the Devastator is chasing down Leia's ship, the rest of the time we see it down in passive mode.
  22. It is not just a model, it is a functioning machine with mobility and a bunch of cool features that work.
  23. Pegasus Models has a excellent kits of the Terminator Ground, Aerial HK and Endoskeletons in 1/32 scale, both in regular plastic and soon releasing in chrome plated versions as well.
  24. Fantastic Plastic had a 1:144 Scale resin kit featuring both the Drop Ship and APC. Out of production right now but you can always try eBay...
  25. Patrick Stewart would have been six years old then- amazing!
