  1. Oh great- now my mind is wandering around Battle Droids dressed as Maids and Catholic School Girls... I think a special Ops variant is a great idea- a wonderful starting point for creative alterations to turn that prissy skeleton into mean aggressive Ninja
  2. http://culttvman.com/main/moebius-models-announces-their-first-star-trek-kit/ Plus a number of new kit listings on the CultManTV site
  3. From a couple of things I have read Dragon may be having issues involving more than just with the proposed Star Wars kits. IIRC they have skipped a few exhibition shows which they have regularly attended for many years- from reserving space and not showing up to not reserving a space at all. I hope it's not true- the more players the better the motivation for all companies to up their game.

  5. I love the Keaton Era vehicles- they have a nice retro vibe and are less fussy designs than the later ones. I am envious- I had all of them at one time but they didn't make the move to my new local
  6. That's where I have to put mine. While long it is very thin so finding a ceiling space is not going to be a problem.
  7. "The much anticipated Battlestar Galactica Raptor. This is currently delayed when Moebius works out the license renewal." https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwic856Jz5LTAhUC2yYKHeBtDfcQFggjMAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fculttvman.com%2Fmain%2Fwonderfest-news-moebius-round-2%2F&usg=AFQjCNFcyKiDyBvPablnIhukhLbgdlmURg&sig2=hp_LRnRZ0hT8xLB6btpmYw&bvm=bv.152180690,d.eWE
  8. IIRC the Raptor kit has been ready for a while but the license agreements had to be renewed and the powers that be were dragging their feet. Looks like that has finally been resolved and production is finally getting queued up.
  9. Had this old blueprint- I think it violates scale but it does seem to have all the stuff in the right places-
  10. Never did much with the game- not very good with FPS, but I do like the 'credible' scifi designs. Too many scifi vehicles are either over stylized or look like they were sprayed with glue and rolled around a junkyard.
  11. IIRC the 1:144 Jedi Fighter also includes the Hyperspace Ring. I have the Finemolds 1:72 kit of the same subject- that fighter is super tiny even at that scale...
  12. Star Wars films have defined the Double Dip- except they go way beyond that with special editions and repackaging with new features. I have actually lost count on how many editions they have of those movies
  13. Saw today on a different forum that the two BluRay discs will have the same content, the DVDs will be different. Not sure if this referred to the multi-disc sets that include DVDs also or the DVD only released sets. I am not going to buy this film the first wek, I want it in peoples hands and hear from them what you actually get before I plunk my dollars down...
  14. Different companies are selling the film with different content- Target/Walmart/Amazon/Best Buy each have their own versions of the fil with unique extras. I really hate this- it is something that the NuTrek films started and now it has spread. Not only do I need to find a good deal, but I need to know in advance which extras might be included so I can choose the right edition. I love the making of extras involving SFX and models, don't really care for actor interviews and costume work...
  15. Congratulations! IIRC from the discussions about the upcoming Moebius kit 30" should work out to 1:144 scale- lots of fun diaplay opportunities! Did it come with pods? If not Stargazer has a 1:144 Orion cargo version that comes with a couple of pods, you might want to contact him about seeing if you could get a couple of them without the kit... BTW- what size is the Command Sphere?
  16. I have a paid subscription of the eMagazine through PocketMags and trying to get it sorted out right now. It appears that issue 45 may not be available through them, looks like I am just going to get 6 back issues... I have a fairly large collection of the print magazines but where I live now I really do not have room for physical copies anymore...
  17. Starship Modeler has it in the store now for $95.95 (plus shipping). I will get this kit eventually, it is a grail kit for me but I simply do not have the funds for a big model purchase right now. When I do so I will be getting an aftermarket crew to go inside- Drew of Crowsnest is going to release a great set. He made a magnificent 1:48 Proteus and does stellar figure work. He has closed up shop and moved his focus to the real world for now, but he said he will restart things just to produce the figures for the Moebius kit. The Armed Raptor was seen in a couple of episodes briefly but was featured in their very last show- it was the craft that fired off the Nukes and destroyed the massive Cylon Headquarters thing that the Galactica rammed and boarded.
  18. I believe that Proteus Crew is not by Moebius but an aftermarket company, two have said already they are producing figures for this kit. It is not so much Moebius is 'milking it' but trying to keep the costs lower so more people can afford the kit. If they were to produce an accurate crew they would have to pay for the use of the actors likenesses Similar thing with the Raptor- the basic kit is going to be expensive and by offering the weapons pack as a separate item they fill a need without every buying having to pay for something they do not wish for. Moebius is a small company and wants as many people to buy kits as possible so they get a good return on investment. Big kits sell in low volumes, IIRC the Jupiter 2 did not sell as well as anticipated which surprised them. Adding a Crew or weapons pack adds to an already expensive kit and could be enough to push it out of the reach of a lot of people. I have a very limited hobby budget myself and have had to often choose between one big kit or a number of smaller ones dspite how much I want the big one.
  19. Love that effect- it gives the surface some real depth!
  20. I love the concept but from what reviews I have seen the execution of each planet does not have much variety. I am on the wait and see where this goes side- it has incredible intentional but wha tis the point of having all thos eplanets when they seem to be mostly the same (with a couple of tweaks)?
  21. You can always have some fun and bash both of them into an 'Ugly'. For those who might not have heard about Uglies, they are a weird tech mash up where private citizens/pirates find wrecked Imperial and Rebel craft and splice parts together to make a hybrid fighter. This is where you get an X-Wing with TIE engines, etc... 22. Got a 'glow in the dark' edition of the old AMT kit of the Leif Ericson this week. I don't really care about the glow in the dark feature and do not plan on using it- if I find somebody willing to swap it for a regular styrene version I would be glad to. The reason I go this kit was that many years ago I had an original release (the one with the small plastic record with an audio story). That model is no longer around and I wanted to get another chance on doing this kit justice now that my skill level is better. I plan on totally reworking the hangar bay and aft panel for starters.
