  1. Can I ask, is the chap producing/selling the kits an existing kit manufacturer, or is it a new venture, or doesn't he want anything made public yet?
  2. Great work. Can you remember how much ballast you added to the nose?
  3. Amazing project - you're a braver man than I!!! Looking forward to seeing this one progress. The photo of the real bus shows some great weathering. Following and an extra large bucket of popcorn ordered!
  4. Your work on the engine is brilliant, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you make of the rest of the kit. I'm currently working (occasionally!) on the Huracan, and looking forward to picking up some tips. So, yes, please do carry on and post your work. It's an inspiration.
  5. Thanks guys. She is 1/35 scale.
  6. Thanks for all the generous comments folks. You really are too kind..... I'm inspired to do another armour kit soon.
  7. Just come across this thread. Truly inspiring work. Particularly the trick with the foil. I have the kit in my stash, and am really enjoying your dairy.
  8. I had another look, and did add a touch of dust over the decal. Looks much better now - thanks 😊
  9. Thank guys. The tracks were painted with AK chipping colour, then roughly mottled with AK dark rust and old rust. Then track wash and dark iron pigment (all AK). Finally I added MIG standard rust pigment sparingly, and worked it in well with MIG pigment fixer (the solvent stuff, not the resin stuff), and finally added some MIG European dust and worked that in with fixer. I found I had to be really sparing with the rust pigment as it's a strong colour. I can't claim to be an expert by any means, it's only the second set of tracks I've weathered properly. Put half of it down to luck!
  10. Thanks for the kind words chaps. The Firefly decal is quite clean, but photo has made it look a lot brighter than it really is. It looks much more in keeping with the rest of the model in the flesh.
  11. Hi folks, Here is my completed Meng Whippet Tank. Please let me know what you think of the weathering. I think I may have gone overboard a bit, but somebody else thought it was understated. Constructive criticisms are very welcomed. 12. Superb work KP. Stunning finish on the paint work.
  13. You're not the only one with a cupboard full of unfinished kits......
  14. Wow !! The finished chain and wheel look amazing. The weathering on the chain is perfect - it looks so real.
  15. You're rigth, depression is a bummer - hope you pull out of it soon. Looking forward to seeing your next proper update - it's an awesome kit and you're doing a great job !
  16. I see that Paul Koo has just released his Pocher Huracan DVD on Ebay. Item No 322799619469
  17. Those tyres do look good. I'm tempted, but not sure I can justify the price tbh.
  18. No, I haven't started my kit yet. It's actually in storage in the UK at the moment as I'm working abroad for a while.
  19. I'll be watching your build with interest. I too have the Tommasso transit. The etched fret is excellent, but to be frank, I wasn't too impressed with the rest of it. The instructions leave a little to the imagination too. Still, I'm sure that your build will point me in the right direction when I eventually start the model.
  20. Looking forward to see how you get on with the kit and the detail set. I've got Tommasu's set, and it looks very challenging.
  21. I agree about the seats - painting is a far better option than faux leather. Hard to believe your looking at a model and not the real thing !!
  22. Even the trestles (I assume a temporary construction aid) look immaculate !!
  23. Thanks Andrew, but I weakened and ordered it anyway. It arrived a couple of days ago, and looks quite impressive. Mind, the instructions look like they leave something to the imagination !
  24. You're too kind Andi. Exhausts on now. Just the saddle to go now. As said, I'm trying to replicate this in leather, so it may be a month or so before I finish that as I'll get the leather in the UK during my summer holiday. Still, I can always put the kit part in place for now. It'll probably take me that long to touch up all the chips !!!
