  1. Some shots from August 25th morning display: http://www.malcolmpark.com/albums/AxhM8/wings-and-wheels-2018
  2. Lovely model of the Scimitar. I spent summer holidays as a child with family friends at a farm on the edge of Milltown RN aerodrome and watched Scimitars constantly landing and taking off from Milltown. I believe they were doing carrier practice approaches, having taken off from Lossiemouth RN air station just along the coast. A favourite spot on the beach at Lossiemouth was a wartime concrete bunker at the edge of (and directly under) the airfield approach. The Scimitars (and later Buccaneers) were just above head height (no wonder I now have tinnitus!).
  3. A variety of images from RIAT and FIAS 2016: http://www.malcolmpark.com/albums/WpqLrb/riat-2016-1 regards
  4. Great shots, very convincing, good stuff.
  5. Great build of a...what if. Tremendous paint finish.
  6. Beautiful model, I remember seeing them at Lossiemouth as a kid on holiday, standing on an old wartime bunker on the beach just at the end of the runway with them (and Scimitars, Sea Vixens and latterly Buckaneers) coming in just ove the top of my head!
  7. Thanks all. Joachim - too much eagerness and not sufficient thought on my part regarding flaps and ailerons, thanks for pointing out. Will work this into my next two builds (ME109s)!
  8. Thanks very much Houston. Here is a closeup of the engine compartment with prop spinning. I’m no expert on this engine having started aero modelling recently. I did some research on the internet on the Griffon engine and dug out a few shots for reference. In place of the moulded pipework around the engine block I added brass wire and dirtied the whole thing up, just to give, hopefully, it a more authentic feel.
  9. Some shots of Spitfire Mk IIa and Spitfire Mk 24 as complete as I can get them, I’m afraid. Mk IIa used Xtradecal set for P7856/VZ.E, 412 Squadron, RAF Digby, Lincolnshire, Oct. 1941. Mk 24 is Xtradecal set for VN317/W2.P, 80 Squadron, RAF Lubeck, Germany, 1948. Hope they pass muster, thanks for looking.
  10. Today, got the Mk II sitting on its front undercarriage.
