  1. I'd go for number 2. The yellowish color (to my taste) does not go well with the seat color. I really like the idea Roy brought to the table. Would certainly suit a classic RR.
  2. Beautiful. And ... nice stands you have for the bike. Sorry to hear about the mishaps with the glue and clear parts. Don't know how serious the problem is, but there is a description somewhere to get clear parts usable again.
  3. Lovely, Codger. Ready to roll.....
  4. Ordered them today. Good to hear that you like them.
  5. Well, almost.... almost I'm going to revise my view on matte painted cars. It looks really good as it is nor really matte but satin. Works really well.
  6. Yes, I have seen that. Be interested to see the results you get on the blue base.
  7. Keith, did you use the C1 metalizer powder on the black and are you planning to use it again on the blue? I have the powder too, but haven't been able to achieve anything but a black chrome look.
  8. It's not about what we like. It's about what you want to achieve with your model. Pity that you ran into these troubles with the paintwork. Sorry to hear that. I'm slowly getting used to doing everything at least twice. Double the fun? ehhh, let's say: not always
  9. Looking good Keith. Better not keep the blue, LOL. Like the way your sparkplug leads look now.
  10. That rear deck is looking really good, Wayne. I'm not a big fan of matte colors on 1:1 nor on models, but that is my personal opinion and taste. Regarding wheels, I do agree that the stock wheels are not the most beautiful wheels you can think of, but still they were the stock wheels. I decided to go with the stock ones, however I will see what I need to do to make them look more realistic as to when delivered by Pocher. The 1:1 pictures of the Agnelli car show that this car still has the stock wheels. Got to go with the 1:1 example...
  11. Fantastic interior, Codger. Looking realistic, too. The metal strips on the seatbacks, is that solder?
  12. We'll be lurking right at this spot to see the results of your renewed motivation.
  13. Codger, I'd say, based on the last pic of you seats, no further treatment is required. You did a great job with these and it will look fantastic when it all comes together in the car. Oh and I understand why you have new carpet. After so many years in this car the originals were beyond repair, weren't they?
  14. I said it before and must repeat it now. Fantastic car, you've built here. thanks for sharing and explaining, Roy.
  15. This is getting really nice, Wayne. the color looks beautiful on the car. @ Codger, thanks for your explanation on the auto fabric paint
  16. Well, Codger, this might be your first fully upholstered interior, you certainly should be proud of the results. I really like the small pivots, the way you worked the edges of the carpets at the lower ends. Indeed the pleats are a bit different but as soon as you will have the same sort of sheen on the frontseats, I think that it will not be too obvious.
  17. Fantastic, Roy. I really like the windscreen and its surrounds. Must have been quite difficult to get the back of the roof fitted to the rear deck.
  18. Wayne, since it seems to be very difficult to get leather with matching color, would it be an option to buy a bottle of leather paint? I once did paint the seats of my 1:1 Volvo 262C when I got seats from another car that didn't look quite as the rest of seats. Worked very well and was also very durable (not that the latter would matter much for your Merc).
  19. Looking great, Wayne. multi colour interior will be a treat. @Codger, what exactly do you mean with auto fabric spray and to what use would you put it in this rebuild?
  20. David, most important is that you enjoy your build. Have fun in doing this they way you want and feel comfortable with. If, later on you feel more comfy with filling up seems and painting and all that stuff, you can always take it apart and update your build.
  21. Roy, I love the way you created the door panels and especially the footwell, where you can see heel and toe marks on the carpets. Amazingly realistic.
  22. Codger this is wonderful. I already said it, very realistic.
