  1. Nice indeed, it certainly brightens up the shelf. I really like it, not your standard everyday look. Glad it got your mojo back, its amazing how a nice simple build can do that, and then throw ourselves back into the thing that brought our mojo down. Great looking model, well done. Coops
  2. Great start so far. I recall one of these being done recently here : WIP & RFI I look forward to seeing what you can achieve with this kit. Coops
  3. That engine bay is looking spectacular, it just so happens I was doing a little work outside this morning and a robin also fluttered around the garden, I had the camera with me as I was trying some different settings in order to try and improve my photography skills. Fortunately he wasn't nesting in the office. Could you extend the hose elsewhere for now? Maybe get another cheap one and run it to an alternative outlet so not disturb the little fellas? Picture of the little guy Looking forward to more progress soon.
  4. very nicely finished, I love a skyline and that colour is great, the wheels look set in a bit far for my liking but a great build none the less. Well done on a great subject Coops
  5. Nice build, I like the removable front and rear, is this how the kit comes or did you modify it that way? I think one of these would look good on my shelf next to the M1 pro car. Its a different subject in comparison to your ship builds too, right? I too agree with the clean lines comments of others - macro shots really highlight every imperfection - I should know, there are plenty on my builds. I strive to do better with each build. Keep up the good work and I'll be sure to look out for your next build. Kindest Regards, Coops
  6. firstly - not sure if you've seen this article, but it is pretty useful - https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234956647-matts-tips-for-painting-cars/ Maybe you could micro mesh it back flat/smooth and go over with another coat of 2k if required, don't be overly aggressive, just enough to remove the orange peel effect. (Try in an inconspicuous area first if in doubt) maybe @cmatthewbacon could advise more on the matter considering his excellent tutorial or there are also many other competent people out there who may also be along with advise. Maybe a picture to show the level of orange peel would be useful too.... sorry not to be of more help
  7. Thats a lovely detailed and finished model, especially considering it 1/43. Congratulations, you should be very pleased. Coops
  8. A nicely finished model, I especially like the positive rake angle and engine detailing. Coops
  9. Have you tried making your own? I believe it’s very fine sawdust mixed with paint that railway modellers use. also, whilst I cannot speak for seats, I used the fluffy side of some Velcro strip to carpet a model, worked fairly well. embossing powder is another viable alternative which will be widely available from more sources than specific model shops also maybe some thin felt HTH Coops
  10. I know this is an old post but the iPhone headphones when plugged in to your device can operate the shutter by pressing the volume button on the headphone cable. may be of use to someone
  11. This thread a few years back showed some promise https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235013793-ford-transit-mk1/ and I believe this may have been the product https://picclick.co.uk/Ford-Transit-mk1-bodyshell-1-24-fits-Italeri-mk2-142501918946.html but nothing available that I can see currently
  12. Thanks 🤣 Part of me wishes I had gone Matt Black with Green tinted windows and green tinted chromes. im sure it will all come together in the end. the body has now got 2 coats of lacquer and is drying. i will add decals and panel lines before giving it a final lacquer. then it will have a while hardening before a final polish and build. Here's a quick look at the shell with first couple of light lacquer coats applied:
  13. Nice work. It’s these extra little details that elevate the model I think. good to see this underway again
  14. I like those door panels a lot. Can’t help thinking a dremel would have saved you a lot of effort. i look forward to this progressing
  15. As ever you have achieved an excellent level of finish. I for one would be exceptionally happy for that model to adorn my shelf. I doff my hat to you. i wouldn’t worry about the ride height, it looks great as it is. Coops
  16. Update time Clear Parts Clear parts have been removed from sprues, marked up and cut down to fit in the now lower body shell Rolling Chassis There is now a rolling chassis ready and awaiting the final assembly stage Interior The interior has been completed in black, with tan seat covers and Aluminium seat bases. The dash has received a little spruce up with Aluminium, gold and decals Body Shell And the body shell has received a few coats of gold, before also receiving some clear red treatment The clear coat is still drying so hasn't achieved its final look yet. Work still to do, detail paint the window seals and the lower side sills which are currently masked off, the intent is for these to be Alumnium to match the interior details. All the chrome work to be applied and then thin final assembly and finishing touches. I will likely update this WIP again when the final details are being sorted and then it will appear in the RFI section after being submitted to the Competition host. Cheers for looking Coops
  17. Couldn’t agree more with this comment. that’s a great end result you’ve achieved as well so congratulations.
  18. What a great finish, excellent photographing skills too. I think this is something i need to work on. As i said at the end of your WIP, this inspires me to purchase and have a go at a bike build. Congratulations. Coops
  19. Nice, i look forward to seeing this progress. I might add what a great friend you have to gift you this kit. Best of luck with this build, i'll be sure to follow along to see the progress. Coops
  20. Very nice build indeed, for box stock + wiring that’s a pretty damn good engine by the looks of it.
  21. Nice, I too have seen these on eBay whilst searching for kits, I have wondered about the process and what you actually need to do so I’ll be following this to see the process involved.
  22. Great build, I like this a lot. Inspires me to think about doing a bike build. Lots of parts for the après box too I see. congratulations and I’ll look for it in the RFI
  23. I have never before seen wire wheels done like that, I like it a lot. fantastic build and upgrades so far, keep up the great work.
  24. Excellent build, I must compliment you on that interior detailing. The exterior is also lovely. 👏🏻 coops
  25. @richellis I believe would be the one to give you some advice here. I'm sure he does a fair amount of trucks. I have a Super Hino Dolphin car transporter in the stash, which I intend to build to display 6 cars on and free up half space, but this is an older style truck. Italeri have a wide 1/24 truck range of Artics (Tractor & Trailer) here: https://www.italeri.com/en/category/7/34
