  1. Nice to see this build even if it won’t make it to the final gallery. What scale is this? Can never have too many spitfires, especially mkIX’s. Eduard do make a nice spit. Has it got its colours on yet?
  2. Nice reinforcements for the land assault. I’ve heard good things about this kit and really want to get my grubby mitts on one in the future. Good start to the figures, pulling up a front row seat for this build.
  3. Fitted another couple of hours in at the bench tonight and got the suspension and wheels cleaned up and assembled. Some of the casting blocks are a PITA! Snapped one of the return roller arms off whilst trying to clean it up as well as various other little bits. All repaired now, just need to add some filler to some air bubbles and smooth off the wheels a little once that’s done. things are coming along though.
  4. Thanks Robert. No gluing yet, plenty of clean up and test fitting first before committing glue to resin. Although next step will be the suspension which I should be able to get glued up relatively quickly.
  5. Interesting choice of subject for the build. Good start so far, will be following this one.
  6. Good start to this Ben, nice to see some more armour in this GB. I remember building one of these matchbox 3 colour kits when I was a kid, can’t remember for the life of me what tank it was though!
  7. Clean up has begun whilst watching some d-day documentaries. The join between the transmission cover and lower hull is going to take a bit of fettling to sit smoothly. Instructions leave a bit to be desired as well, trying to work out that is tank and what is flash takes a bit of pondering in some places!
  8. Thanks for the interest. I’ve seen your build and you’ve done a great job of converting the kit. I managed to bag this kit off eBay for little more than the cost of a tasca kit. I also managed to pick up a DD with the screens attached but that will be for another time!
  9. My entry for this GB is going to be a Sherman V DD shortly after d day with the screens removed. It’s an older resicast kit and I’m going to replace the tracks with some aftermarket ones. Just need to source some decals for the turret numbers. And box contents. shoukd be a fun little build.
  10. Great idea for a diorama, looking forward to seeing this come along. Comfy chair pulled up for this.
  11. Very nice work, can’t go wrong with those Tamiya kits. Looking forward to seeing you apply some pigments to this and how the Caunter scheme comes out.
  12. Lovely stuff Andy, masterful work as always.
  13. Classic kit to get you back into modelling. This was the first kit I built when I got back to armour modelling. It goes together very well and gives a nice finished model. welcome to BM!
  14. Insides are looking great. Nice PE and detailing work. Looking forward to seeing you slapping some pigments on the outsides!
  15. Looking good, diorama is coming along nicely. Good to see youngsters getting involved in the hobby.
  16. Nice start, I’ve just built one of these as an OOB (pretty much) quick build. It’s a decent little kit. Will look good in that 3 tone scheme I think.
  17. I’ll join in with this if I may, I have a resicast Sherman DD to build.
  18. The finished product is fantastic badder. Your layers of weathering add a lot of depth to the finish.
  19. Wonderful build, great work. Your little alterations have really brought it to life.
  20. Interesting concept always good to see WHIF concepts. How would you plan on attaching the paddles? Will they be on the outer face of the wheels if you’re going to have tracks on it well? I think, from the way you’ve built it it would sit quite low in the water, with the waterline likely at or above the top of the wheels. If that was the case then paddles on the outer face wouldn’t work as they wouldn’t clear the water line. I can’t see another way of adding paddles with tracks on it. alternstive would be to use tracks similar to those used on LVT’s that themselves act as paddles. Wouldn’t make the vehicle that quick in the water though...
  21. Very nice finish Nigel, lovely looking model. I quite often find the tri tonal German camo is hard to pull off well and comes out looking either too garish or dark and subdued on a lot of models I see but I think you’ve done it very well on this. Top job!!
  22. Great finish on the Tilly, really looks the part. Looking forward to seeing this done and dusted with the base and driver.
  23. If that’s not good enough, I have the skybow kit in my stash. I can scan you the instructions if you still need. Can’t post as I still need them!!
  24. Outstanding model making, your detailing is bringing to life a, by all accounts, second rate kit. My dad was an RAF Wessex pilot back in the day and a keen modeller (although of the train variety) so I will have to show him this build, sure he’ll be interested to see it. looking forward to seeing you get the second side finished up.
