  1. Wow, you are one fast modeller . I find that idea really cool since it could be spun further into some inspiring dioramas. Like combining a paper panzer and figures with the VW Bully. Maybe I should build something like this, too.
  2. Great idea. I like that a lot. Basically a Ground '46. But I think you should really add a set of WH license plates to it. That would spice it up.
  3. Well done. I saw this kit online the other day and found it interesting. Glad you give us the chance to see the model up close.
  4. From my experience I can only say that they appear durable. They don't wear off easily neither get lifted off by masking tape. I did only use them on primer (Vallejo PU primer black) though. So I can't say if they stick well without any. They dry dead flat. Unfortunately no satin fnishes at least for the relevant shades. I'd just try it out. Since they are normally easy access at stores and not too expensive.
  5. That looks pretty promising! I do have that Ju 88 in my stash too and was planning to build it in 2016, alas it didn't happen. Regarding your search for colours I think you could have a look in the Revell Aqua Color range. I do have some Luftwaffe builds going on at the moment and now tried spraying Aqua color diluted with regular tab water and it's surprisingly smooth and controllable. The shades are also not shabby. The Light Blue 49 (RLM 65 equivalent) has a pretty convincing pale tone, much better than the Vallejo model air.
  6. That's a pretty cool idea outstandingly well executed. Which is the poor city btw. that you chose to be the base?
  7. I have to admit I never tried to spray Gunze or Tamiya, but I am set to use Mr. Color on my current Ju 87 A built. Revell Aqua Color does spray pretty fine though.
  8. It's simply Olive Drab 043 by Vallejo model Air (which they also advertise as RLM81 on the bottle). It is sprayed on a coat of black Vallejo PU primer.
  9. Here I found a website that has a lot of the callsigns and factory numbers of the planes http://luftwaffe-zur-see.de/Seeluft/Werknummerlisten/Dornier Wal.htm Perhaps that's somehting fpr your project. There may be more.
  10. You're right that needs touch up. The framing on the canopy is so light and badly sculpted it's almost invisible.
  11. True, I remember the night fighter. I built this once for my younger brother (still finished with brushed enamels). As far as I recall, the canopy was of much better quality.
  12. Thanks. That's surprising. Revell is normally really good a sending replacements. And the 262 is still in their program AFAIK. But I guess a replacement wouldn't have been better since this canopy just seems to be badly engineered. But I don't know if there is any aftermarket solutions.
  13. The known Revell kit of the 262 has it's oddities. E. g. the fact it has a detailed cockpit tub and blanked of wheel wells. I tried to open these up a bit to show off these parts of the plane. I stuck with the rather shabby canopy though which is a known drawback of this kit and doesn't do the rest justice. Here you go.
  14. You can be proud that you finished it. I built that kit, too (posted it as well). It really has some pretty tricky bits and pieces about it and requires a lot of dryfitting. But I find the overall detail quite impressive.
  15. Hi corsaircorp, tanks for having a look at my built. I am not a Mossie expert at all. But user Troy Smith, who also commented in this thread, seems to be well versed on the different Mossie kits. I suggest you write him directly as this is a quite old thread and it is unlikely that he will read your post. Cheers
  16. Hello folks, here is my second built of HobbyBoss' Easy Assembly line. After I had a good impression of the He 162 I tried my hand at their Bf 110. As expected it came together well and the result was a fine replica of the Bf 110. I am sure the experts will find a lot of things wrong with it (like the curve and shape of the engine cowlings etc. pp.). But I don't care as much as long as it looks like a 110 :-) The decals were abundant in this one and I had the impression they were a bit easier to work with than the last set I used. I like easy camo schemes and this couldn't get any easier: Revell Teerschwarz overall. Done.
  17. Thanks, I saw your built, which was very inspiring! I'm sure that won't be the last on we'll see. Although I think the Matchbox He 111 is one of the more rare kits as it was not reboxed by Revell. We would now need someone to build the third suggested paint scheme from that kit, which was some kind of winter camo.
  18. Hello fellow modellers. Been busy lately so I can come up with only one completed built. The He 111 by Matchbox a kit I was after for the longest time since the 111 has always been my favourite airplane and Matchbox my favourite brand! So I got an original 1975 Made in England three colour kit. Light brown, dark brown and light blue it looked so good I was almost tempted to build it unpainted. But then again I liked the decals provided as well so I went on to paint it as described on the box. I am happy with the result. Hope you enjoy. More is to come soon in 1/72 (Heller/Revell Ar 196, Revell Me 262, HobbyBoss Me 110).
  19. That looks really cool. You should work for Suchojs markenting department. They could sent you to Israel right away with your pattern suitcase
  20. You are absolutely right. My approach is always: can I make the old kit look as great as the pictures of it in the catalogue or on the sides of the box? If my skills aren't up to that and I don't get that result, what right do I have to complain about the shortcomings of an old kit!
  21. Pretty cool stuff. Ah, now I also made the clever connection between the Hahn and the nose art. I am being pretty slow tonight .
  22. Very nice built of this classic kit. Is that a recent reboxing of this model? I'd love to have this kit, but the prices online are quite high at the moment. Did you use aftermarket decals?
  23. Good job on what is a not so easy camo pattern. Don't feel bad about the propeller. I built this kit last year and made exactly the same mistake. Regarding the brush painting you should really check out the Quick Kits channel on youtube that guy brush paints his planes and he gets very impressive results. Keep on the good work!
  24. Like here's Blenheim in colour. It looks a bit more yellowish around the exhaust ring.
  25. That's of course true. The exhaust ring is also not made of copper in real life . Or is it? With a British machine you never know. Anyways. I already thought about a good and efficient technique to paint those rings. But I didn't succeed. So copper metallic seems like a quick and easy fix but does not quite look like the real thing. What do you use?
