  1. Superb! You have captured that "well used" look fantastically with your weathering. Bravo sir.
  2. WV908, do you have the book "Bristol Brabazon" by Graham M. Simons? The book has some early drawings of it with pusher propellers and a schematic diagram showing the differences between the MK1 and MK2. The idea of the Brabazon MK3 with jet engines is appealing especially as the wing design would have accommodated them. A jet powered Brabazon I feel would have had a very different outcome to what sadly happened.
  3. Just be brave and use the panel lines as a guide and you will be fine. It's not like your crazy (like me) and trying a two kit stretch, which sounds a bit like a prison sentence
  4. The choice of words in your text certainly sound like you do, Sonoran. Anyway I'm enjoying revell's old and new 747s (the 747-400 journey and the 747-8i destination) so it is a case of go with what will make you happy Harry.
  5. Wow! A real stunner. beautifully built and presented
  6. looks like a top notch model to me.
  7. The digital camo just says "Lego" to me but a great model none the less!
  8. Well done on the perseverance with the decals! Truly unique.
  9. Have a look at this for a VC10 (ok a super VC10) http://www.26decals.com/epages/62035508.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62035508/Products/TSM4414BO A good model with good decals and at a good price
  10. The revell A380 with interior has a full double deck interior and is still available for around £30.
  11. great job there! Love the exhaust heat marks, very realistic. For a brush painted model it looks really good. Thanks for sharing and well done!
  12. You say "hope you like it. " I say "love it!"
  13. Alittle bit of a backstory (something I never had for the Gulf Air 746). At the Farnborough Airshow in 1996 Boeing displayed the scale models of the 747-500 and 747-600 in the hope for some orders. Although there was plenty of interest, none of the big airlines would place an order until the sales team found a MoU from 1973 from BOAC when a similar size stretch was offered. The memo stated that when suitable engines were available an order would be placed. BA said that they were not in a position to honour the agreement from 1973 but after several weeks of talks between Boeing's and BA's legal teams a deal was struck. This gave all the momentum needed for Boeing to fill the order books with just enough orders to get the project going. As the construction progressed, the price tag grew and potential buyers pulled out including BA. At this point Boeing approached the UK government and pushed for BA to be forced to honour the deal. What happened next nobody is quite sure how or why it happened, but it did. The UK government decided to take on the project and pay for Boeing to finish the world's only 747-600 in the colours of the company that originally ordered it, BOAC. It was finished in August 1998, was certified in February 1999 and flew under BA's control til 2010 when it took up residence at Duxford.
  14. In a moment of fickleness have decided to change to this https://community.infiniteflight.com/t/ba-reveals-boac-747-400-retrojet-for-centenary-celebrations/289026 wadda ya think? Have had to update the link with the good news from BA. Not such a whif now.
