Thank you, appreciate you popping in. The mud was a light pigment powder applied using pigment fixer.

Hi guys. I got a couple of Airfix kits at Crimbo from my nieces, the 1/72 Tiger 1 and their classic range the 1/76 tank transporter. Now, I normally stay away from this scale due to my disabilities, I have also had a diagnosis of essential tremors, muscle cramps and hand grip issues so, as you can probably deduce, braille scale is pretty much a no-no. However, I wanted to have a go and this past week I made the Tiger and wanted to make it good for my nieces. After assembly it was primed, then I airbrushed the top coat and then a slightly darker camo added. It has then been weathered using a light dusting on my finger in graphite, just to highlight areas. Aluminium paint for the tracks, I had no steel colour, (I used the 'easy' two part jobbies instead of doing the separate wheels etc, I thought this would be easier...not when trying to paint). I then did a graphite rub over them and then added some rust. I then did a dried mud dust pigment on the track wheels and sides. Finally, I made a aerial by heating some sprue and stretching it, painted it black, finally, decals added. Came out, far better than I would have hoped. Thanks for looking. Si.

Was that at the IPMS show John? Glad you like them, the M19 was developed for use as antiaircraft defence back end of WW2, the allies had that covered so the M19 was put to use in a direct fire role, 40mm bofors going at a bunker or emplacement...ouch. The M41 was developed back end of WW2 but did not see action, both did see action in the Korean conflict, reason I thought the M19 needed a friend. The Stuart, the Classy Hobby version? -

Superb mate, they sound great. I also have a M19 that is scratched made, hence the M41 to be a playmate in the Korean battlefield. -

Braille scale is way to small for me nowadays, hence the bigger versions . There would be no way I could scratch build one in 1/72 scale-kudos to you for that. Really pleased you like my efforts. -
I got this 3D printed model but, it needed some work, it didn't help that I drop it and smashed in one side . The chassis should be a M24 Chaffee but, there isn't one so, a Walker Bulldog was used, I had a donor chassis and the fourth return roller was added. After I repaired it I detailed it, scratch made parts, traverse, elevation wheels, catches, bolts, clips, rear lights and guards, mounts, handrails, intercom radio, spotting scope. The MG, spotting scope and searchlight are mounted on magnets, saves losing them. Once done it was primed and then Tamiya olive drab used, I then weathering in using light olive drab as a wash and sponged, black oil paint and some rust. Once dry it had a clear coat. The electrics are part done, needed a new MFU so this was bought and working on re-pinning the connectors. So, the vehicle is finished apart from the internals. 'SMOKY' JOE'S' M41 'GORILLA', 155MM, TWO PART BAGGED AMMUNITION, HOWITZER. Thanks for looking guys.

VARIOUS SCENERY PIECES 1/16 STABLE ACCESSORIES.
eddiesolo replied to eddiesolo's topic in Ready For Inspection - Dioramas
LOL, cheers Bertie, hopefully, these and other pieces spread around will fill out the RC village. -
Superb builds and a cracking job on the hangers. They really do tie in all the pieces and makes a cracking scene.

Outstanding piece Paul, lovely set out diorama. Dioramas are not always a easy thing to master, too little it becomes boring, too much and it is overdone, also, the locations of objects placed are crucial to getting a great balanced look. You have achieved that, the water disguises a lot of pieces so it keeps the viewer engage as they seek out other bits, or something suddenly pops out. Nicely done and a fave for me, one to be very proud of.

Another scenery piece for the 'village'. I made a flagpole out of a wooden conductors baton, the bollards are plastic stops from a bed and I drilled and glued some brass eyelets into them and shaped with my jewelers hammer, added some chain and then sanded the base. Some brass parts and other parts used. The union flag is upside down, I used a site that lets you have your countries flag as a watermark and then your image on top, the tank is our military vehicles symbol, didn't realise until after I had stuck it . Measures around 10 inch high. Si.

VARIOUS SCENERY PIECES 1/16

Thanks Vince, really pleased you have checked in and like the offerings. In some ways, Covid and the lockdowns have been a help, it has given me time to actually get stuff done, had nothing else to do LOL. With a bit of luck, next year will see the 'village' and all these bits in place at our clubs events and, fingers crossed, at some away events. -
1/16 CONTINENTAL COASTAL/CANAL BARGE.

Long time in posting Vince, hope you are doing okay? Has been a difficult time regarding health but, have been working away slowly. Now have somethings to show. Glad you like the barge, hull and structure plasticard, she will not sail or float for that matter. The crane/winch is two caps from a plastic set of shelves, with various detail parts added. The mast is a chopstick, the decking is lollipop sticks. Basically, anything in the spares/bits box was rummaged for -
Here is a collection of items that I have made as a mini diorama in the big 'village' diorama for our RC vehicle village. I made the broken crate out of coffee stirrers and lollipop sticks with various flock, foliage and paint effects. The wood store is some old model boat wood framing and then coffee stirrers and lollipop sticks and is double slatted, the roof is actually lead and both pitches of the roof are at differing angles, this coupled with the double slats allows better air flow to help in drying the wood. The brazier is all metal construction with a flickering tealight used for the flame, some charcoal bits and pigments used to create the burnt parts. There is also a bench I made, but forgot to take some piccies.

This is my continental barge to go with the canal pieces I made for our clubs 1/16-1/18 radio control military vehicle sections 'village'. She is based on the unpowered type, no engine and is taken by horses up and down the canal from a staging area,, tugs then take a few of these back around the coast to a port for loading etc. She has a petrol generator on board to power the winch crane and lights. While it was all out I touched up the canal itself by adding a lacquer coat to the inside to create a more reflective look. I also made a overspill well and various parts for the barge, figures bought and adapted/repainted, horses have been repainted and saddles/rugs made. The barge is made for plasticard with crane winch is scratch made, the gangway is a 1/72 airfix bridge with 1/16 PIV wheels added. The well is model railway bridge sections with various scratch made parts and epoxy for water. Pallets made from coffee stirrers and lollipop sticks. Ladder is scratch made. I made a hay pile for the stables and horses and made some more items that go with this in another post. Si.

FREE SCALE SPACE CAPSULE
eddiesolo replied to eddiesolo's topic in Ready for Inspection - SF & RealSpace
You're not wrong mate, a few folk have mentioned that. -
Hi guys, I have been working on this for weeks, it is my take on a space capsule with service module etc. It isn't supposed to be any that flew or is in service. I made it out of junk and scrap, the housing is a old torch, the rest is made up of inhaler bits, model boat and tank bits, plumbing part for the nose cone with a brass and aluminium base and steel rod. It is 90% metal so the weight of the base helps to keep it upright. The decals are whatever I had in the box from all types of models. Si.

1/16 1/18 GARAGE FOR RC TANK VILLAGE.
eddiesolo replied to eddiesolo's topic in Work In Progress - Dioramas
UPDATE. Roof on-I used real fine sand attached with PVA, weathered it all. The crane is parts left over from when I did the gantry crane, these were cit down and modified by using plasticard and tubing with other parts from spares bin., found a kaput motor so it looks like the winch works via electric and the electrical connections housed in a plasticard box. The air pump fitted and this and the pipework have all been weathered. I made a oldie fire extinguisher from a toy fire extinguisher and turned it upside down, drilled it out and added a wheel, the housing for it is a large picture frame hanger, opened up and filed out. The sign is made from plasticard off cuts with lights made from 1/16 Tiger 1 suspension arms, inhaler parts and model boat nav lights, I found a wheel hub and made the fuel pump and spanner from plasticard. Not much more to do...unless I find stuff to add...which I normally do.
