  1. She looks superb, great work. Takes me back to when I made mine: I made mine RC but ended up selling my boats due to illness. Nice to see yours.
  2. I like this, looks a nice quality kit. Problem with me and vinyl is I am always scared of trimming too much. Great work, superb stance too.
  3. Ta Ken, much appreciate it. Thank you, alas no...found the little blighter online and just figured he would look so cute in the tractor...just had to have him lol.
  4. Thank you guys, nice to know that it looks the part and appreciate the comments. Steady on Ken... very nice of you to say so, I have a lot to learn about modelling from some of the superb builds on this site, still trawling through. I have posted the Alien one, as for the tractor...okay seen as you asked for it. Si:)
  5. Nice one Ken, really looking the part.
  6. Looking good Ken, don;t forget to Verdigris it slightly and darken with some browns.
  7. This is a 1/144 scale landing craft being buzzed by a Zero. Si:)
  8. Thank you, the figures come pre-painted, I faffed around with highlighting etc. They are around 7 inch high.
  9. Hi Noel, glad you like it and that it looks like something you may have made for yours. Si:)
  10. Thank you, she is saving ammo just using the pistols that never run out lol. Sports bra included...glad you like fine lass. Great news, glad the effect worked. Pleased you like it. I would have preferred her in high heels but what you gunna do? What do you mean 3-D art? Sounds interesting, glad you like the dio though.
  11. My lad got some Neca figures and asked me to do some scenery for them...of course the answer was yes! I started off by redoing Hicks-his armour was weathered and I added a sweat sheen and moistened the eyes and mouth. Then I used an old file box and some old plastic wall pieces plus scraps to create a hallway. I also added some Led's, so that it looked spooky. Si:)
  12. The effect is a really simple one. I build the model, in this case leaving items off and replacing the engine grilles with mesh. Once dry I coat in PVA and add some very, very fine sand. Once dry it had a coating of red primer. Again when dry I then used a black oil wash to soak in and leave some darkness. Once dry I then used my trusty mix of three pigments: Rail, old and new rust to get the rustyness. Just to add I then sponged on some matt cream paint from a matchpot in places. Si:)
  13. Another test bed on rusting and effects, this time a 1/35 Sherman that was stranded and left to the sea, eventually it has become beached. Si:)
  14. Firstly, many thanks glad you like it. Right the effects. The model was painted in the normal colours. Then it was distressed by hacking apart, lines were added and glued. Once the paint had dried it was sealed using a matt varnish. I then made a mix using three rust pigments: Rail rust, old rust and new rust. Once I got the look I applied using pigment fixer and a fine soft brush. To create the streaks I used a Q-tip with some more pigment fixer to remove and drag-this shows the paintwork underneath but more rusty. The base and water is just a piece of ply with a spray coating of metallic blue, once dry the model was positioned and stuck down using silicon sealant. The rest is just clear sealant applied using a tea spoon to create the swirls and peaks, around the model to create the more rough looking water you use a brush dipped in cold water and then agitate the sealant, it produces the more 'frothy' look. The other water effects are just some water effect gel, warmed up and brushed on to give a more wet uniform look against the model sides etc. Hope this helps. Si:)
  15. That was the initial idea, I did a small Fletcher class destroyer using the same technique-no piccies I'm afraid and then I sold it.
  16. Most kind of you to all say. I must admit I enjoy doing sunken subs, have a 1/144 scale ready and waiting to be rusted.
  17. Thank you guys, appreciate it very much.
  18. Looking good so far Mark, great detailing the spokes look really good, sometimes the ones you get just seem so wrong. Si:)
  19. This is another test piece in regarding brassing/bronze. It is a 1/25 scale figure on a real mini-brick base. I used an enamel brass, black oil wash and then a green acrylic to get a verdigri look. Si:)
  20. This started life as a hill-climb car that eventually was left. I have redone the seat cover in leather and added bristles to simulate the horse-hair stuffing coming through, well weathered, rust and mucky Si:)
  21. Superb build, lovely faded paintwork and weathering. Quality build, like this.
  22. I got this part built model of a liner to redo but it was too far gone to get it back to its former glory. I ended up using it as a rusting techniques test piece. Si:)
