Texan76 replied to Aviano's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
So Oliver, I guess that there isn't an easy way to add the gear later? -

General, how does one get to contribute an article to a modeling magazine? It seems there are many guest articles in various model magazines. -

I don't know why Bjorn. It looks great to me. Then again, I've had models that I thought were my best not even place, yet some that I thought were not very good win first. You never can tell. -

Again, wonderful job Oliver. I can't wait to see the Phantom when it's done! -
Found it! Thanks, I guess I should have looked in the kit instead of assuming my boxing didn't have it.

Ok, got another f-5 question. I'm about to start this project. I ordered decals for the USN VFC-111 desert aggressor scheme. I have looked at numerous pics online. The only pics I see with ordinance is of the right side of the aircraft with the dummy sidewinder. Does the other side carry the ACMI? Or would another dummy sidewinder be accurate? If it is the ACMI, the kit does not have one, and I can't find one aftermarket. So I'm stuck doing 2 sidewinders, or none at all. Any insights on this?

Great work Oliver. I am curiously awaiting when you get to the main gear. I haven't built this kit yet, but from what I've read, the main gear must be installed prior to joining the wings to get it properly aligned. If there's a way to avoid that and attach it late in the build after painting, please share. -

Wow, I cannot describe what a work of art that is. Simply amazing. Incredible. -
How does this Harrier version differ from the AV-8B? Can one build a USMC AV-8B from this kit?

Hopefully an F2H-3 Banshee since Kittyhawk can't seem to get their act together and release one. -
Thanks Bob!

Incredible job! From what I've read, this is a bear of a kit to build, which makes your result that much more impressive. -

Great work General. I just ordered the Eduard boxing of this kit today. It has the same markings as yours. -

Oliver, superb craftsmanship. I really enjoyed watching your build as well. Based on your recommendation, I ordered the Brassin Big Sin weapon set today. Not sure when I'll get around to building it, but I'll have all the pieces ready when I do. One question, did the intake covers come in the kit? -

Gorgeous work Pierre. I'm assuming the right wing with the different paint would represent a replacement wing? -

I love your choice of kits Oliver. I'm a huge fan of the Eduard limited edition kits. Judging from your F-14, this one will be a stunner. -
Watching with interest. After watching Oliver's excellent build of this kit, and now yours, I should be ready to rock when I decide to pull this kit out of the stash.

AMK 1:48 Super Etendard - on hold. Do you still want it?
Texan76 replied to Mike's topic in The Rumourmonger
Not an aircraft that would interest me much. I would rather see AMK devote their time to the Mig-25. We need a good Mig-25 in 1/48. -

Russian markings! I'm not too much into building trainer aircraft, but with Russian markings, I'll definitely buy this one. Plus, with the joy I am having building my Mig-31 right now, it's hard to pass up an AMK kit from now on. -

New Tool Eduard 1/48 BF-109 G6 Late
Texan76 replied to Texan76's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Finally finished. Final reveal here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235003587-bf-109-g-6-eduard-148/ -
Whew, finally done. This is the Eduard BF-109 G-6 Late Profipack (new tool). This is a fantastic kit. The fit is perfect, and the detail in impressive. It took a while to build, mainly due to the complex camo, the weathering, and the fact that I painted the crosses instead of using the decals. I built it completely from the box. I highly recommend this kit. After a few day break, I'm going to get started on the AMK Mig-31. I probably won't do a work in progress thread on it, mainly since there are already numerous build threads on that kit. Thanks for all the help and comments to those of you that followed this on the work in progress thread. Enjoy!

AMK Mig-31B/BS Foxhound 1:48 - WHAT? AGAIN?
Texan76 replied to Mike's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Ok, great Mike. I guess I missed that in your previous post. I'm enjoying your builds of these kits. I'll be starting mine real soon, I should have my Bf109 finished in a couple of days. I just got the Akan paints in, so I'm ready to rock!
