  1. Hello Si and Brian, Thank you for your messages. To answer to Si, no, I have not studied the possibility of marketing these kits. These are "garages-kits" with many defects that I corrected as the assembly. Moreover, I would have to do a mounting instruction and I am afraid that it remains incomprehensible to everyone!? For photo etching, I use a vector drawing software, I concise and draw each piece, then comes the "put-in-board". My file is saved in PDF and sent to "Hauler", http://www.etchworks.eu/ The Czech manufacturer who engrave my sets and send me the boards. The rest is the pleasant part, that is, the assembly! Today, I offer some more photos of my work. I wanted to add some planes in the diorama but there was nothing in the trade that corresponded with my dio. So I decided to make two PE planes, always at 1/350. First a "Fieseler Storch". The other one is Junker Ju52, To be continued, of course, I wish you all a happy Christmas and a happy new year! Jean
  2. Good evening, Thanks John and Kev, To feed the personal number needed for the monster assembly, I needed some "goulash-kanone", I also completed the "flak-vierling" of Vétéran-Models The "flak-vierling" on truck Opel is a mistake, there have never been quadruple outfits, too heavy, mounted on these vehicles, against the Sdkfz 7 is indicated. This semi-tracker comes from the brand "Arsenal" and I have modified it a bit to make a transport flak. To be continued of course, Jean
  3. Hello, Thanks LSPaddict for your comment. Some more pictures of the setting up of the diorama. Nothing is stuck. The locos are BR50, plus a set of transport wagons for the gun and the surrounding equipment. To be continued, Jeans
  4. Hello, After a long absence I come back on the subject of "Dora" with the continuation of my diorama. Assembling the Dora without representing the entire site would not make sense. This canon served only once in the Crimea during the siege of Sebastopol. So I present my version, reconstituted, according to the rare photos of time. I have drawn some photo-cut pieces to complete the site I have used somes kits from "Veteran models". And the rest of the PE is my own PE As documentation I used this famous book For the railway equipment I have drawn this locomotive V188 plus some other materials to be continued Jean
  5. Hello, A small update with a first color set, finished the beautiful golden brass, gray place "panzer"! I had a bad surprise by assembling the different structural elements. The bottom of the wagons do not lived under the double cannon The cells that were supposed to max out above were misplaced. I had to cut the brass piece and replace 4 tabs by wooden clogs, drilled to max out on the cars. In other words, do surgery on that big thing limp brass was not really a pleasure, moreover the paint has suffered a bit and I'm good for touch-ups. The first complete assembly, nothing is pasted. Then, catching an oversight Bigblueboy, namely the cylinders of the bottom of the main fund. They are very important for the operation of the gun since at the time of the shooting Dora is not a railway gun but a gun on skates. The bottom of the box consists of pads that come to bear on side rails that run along the double track. My explanation will be clearer when I receive the PE of the railway and that I might place there the whole barrel. So the cylinders, slightly simplified but at this scale. . . The underbody with jacks and wooden clogs that replaces the parties in Parliament, too close to the core. The "bridge" back And the "beach" back Still a lot of work but I'm beginning to see the end To follow, of course Jeans
  6. Hello, A little more on the different elements of Dora, with somewhat convoluted parts but which do not have installation problems. A first overview and a summary assembly, Some parts require a bit of sweetness, The first color-up test, And the next step, a small comparison between the gun "Dora" and "Leopold" (which has nothing of a hypodermic needle!). There are even scratching the barrel is very discreet and I have discovered that with the close-up photo. The first overviews, I'm still far from finished. To be continued, Jean
  7. Hello, I bought this kit here http://freetimehobbies.com/1-350-big-blue-boy-german-railroad-gun-dora/ To be continued . . . Jean
  8. Hello everyone, Happy new year and begin 2016, I was interested to insanely craft, the DORA. 80cm Calibre I bought a model of trade, Bigblueboy kit. A Chinese brand, and therefore I had some concerns about the quality of the kit. There are a few errors and some simplifications but the reproduction of such a monster photo cutout, resin and aluminum shot gives a nice kit, sharp enough to assemble but not enough to tear his hair. Some pictures of the first assemblies. There is still some work to draw a small dio The biggest challenge comes. . . the assembly instructions printed in light blue and gray, it is virtually unreadable and they must be optivisors to get to decipher the patterns. Other difficulty, the metal of the PE, brass a little soft and fragile to the formatting. That said, I managed to get used to, therefore, nothing is impossible. Parts of great finesse, The big problem lies in the coupling of the two parts of the body, especially delicate as manual recommends sticking very fine pieces and small BEFORE assembly To handle sets with brass parts that deform for a yes or a no. . . Finally, I arrived but not without difficulty! Carrying wagons To be continued . . . Jean
