  1. Cheers There off the Beaufighter, I have 2 sets on the Matchbox F.6 Decals that should be ok to use
  2. Well remembered I had a 5 Sqn Lightning done already so gonna stick to the original box art for this one and do it in NMR with black fin 74 sqn. Same one I did when I was about 12... 1st base coat on.
  3. Sitting on its wheels, I did not notice the Decal Sheet had no serials on it for the 5 Sqn Frame so waiting for suitable Decals not to finish this off.
  4. Wowzrers, Great Effort there and what a fine gathering too! Well done that man.
  5. Bit more done over the weekend. Just realised that I did not get serial numbers nor roundels on the Model Decal Sheet which is a bit of a PITA TBH. I will have to have a look at my decal bank. Tried the Matchbox Decals and they are of no use really so the Markings are a mix of the Model Decal sheet and Alleycat Roundels as I had every Roundel Type for the RAF bar the type depicted here. Despite Solutions used the Model Decal Red Bars have not sat down that well. More work with that then! If they wont comply I use the Alleycat Decal sheet and a Different Squadron.
  6. That has come out really nice. Never built this one. This was never re issued under another brand was it? if not Why?
  7. Evening folks, This is it so far Been away with work and had the booster jab so was not feeling the Mae West but back in action now Brute of an Aeroplane really. Had some paint pull away again but patched that up. Gloss coat is one too. Decals Next. Yay!
  8. Been Busy lately so managed to get some progress on this one over the last week. Not far from the finish line. Blimey some sanding on this think for sure but still enjoying it. Looks Quote the Jet TBH. Never noticed the split screen front windshield before and only on one side!! Missed a bit on the nose but happy so far.
  9. Hi Folks, Sucker for Punishment but I said to myself it will be now or never, Pity this GB is not running for the year as I would like to have an good excuse to build some more of the Matchbox Stash I have I have built this kit before under 74, 19 and 92 Sqn ships. for its day it was ok, bit narrow and lots of RPL's but they are not gonna put me off. I started it earlier today and after much scrambling around looking for the Decal sheet I came across the 20 odd Lightning Decal Sheets from Various suppliers and decided I will run with a Grey / Green 5 Sqn bird. Here are some pics. It wont be super detail n all that jazz. Pain in the A$$ waiting to weeks for bits now from the UK plus the extra cost for Processing the packages has put me off. Nice Cheap Price!!
  10. Hi Folks, Have a number of these in the Stash and bought a few sets of Decals to make a few different birds. Never made this kit before and I have seen some lads having hard graft to get this over the line so I am well aware of what I have got ahead but lets roll! Here is the Scheme I will finish it in Made a Start today, Wings glue, Some size issues here, The Cockpit is built and base painted, Tail is glued and the nose. all dry fitted here.
  11. While The Beau if drying I took a trip to the loft and dragged out a later boxing Lightning and when I worked in the LMS A Chap sold me about 4 Meteor NF's at a good price, I can see why now!! Anyhow I had parked these kits and they now longer hit the mark but with the group build no better time to Roll with them so they were started today. I have made the F.6 about 5 times already so now it well the Meteor not so..... The F.6 will be Grey Green Camo and both will be 5 Sqn birds.
  12. Good Afternoon Gents, Decided for my next build I will drag this model from the stash, Made in my youth and I think the Torpedo survives in the spares box still! Of course I hung everything underneath it for max building Pleasure. Here are a few pics of the opening Ceremony I certainly don't remember the moving Ailerons and most defo did not get Seat Belt decals in the original kit. Kit bought in Toy Town according to the label....I'll never grow up!! Looking at the nett shops are asking for £17.00 Sweet lord!! Defo not worth that. After the pics were taken I ended up gluing the Fuselage together and sticking the Tail planes on as well. Wings were glued together, It is a pretty Spartan kit for detail! All the best.
  13. If you don't mind I will jump in with the Revell Boxing of the Bristol Beaufighter. Opened it last night and have pics taken, Amazingly simple kit!
  14. Man Alive some stuff there, Love a bash of a Sky Servant. Must keep an eye out for one. Was not cool enough at the time when I was making more War like subjects!
  15. Class Effort, Nice Homage to the Model and the Base is Super too!
  16. Incredible transformation, was Expecting a Grey one but wow wow wow!!! You have done this before then!
  17. Was there at the weekend, Bit disappointing TBH and Nope there is no cutaway model. A Half section without superstructure and the other half completely fitted out.
  18. Cheers Might Dig out the Walrus next and do it in the home colours. But so much to do!
  19. Hello everyone, finished this one on late last week and here are the results. Overall a very enjoyable simple build. Nothing added on cockpit wise bar the replacement RB04s for the ones that met disaster. Really happy this one has been liberated from the Stash and has given a new lease of life. Seen here with a Matchbox Me.262 model which I made when I was about 9 or 10, I had a thing for Red Rudders back then!!
  20. Hello all, Well this one has crossed the line now and I am calling it finished. Ok I did not embellish the ol gal with much and built it how I would of done in the 80's bar the Airbrushing, I did the ESCI 1/48 one with an awful hand painted job in the 80's which I probably thought was the bee's knees but I am really very happy with this now. Happy Anniversary Matchbox!! Here are a Few photos of the finished article and a ME.262 from when I was 10, Small bit of an improvement I think!! Thanks to all who showed and interest it did help push me along and save this from the shelf of doom, those comments really helped! All the best George
