  1. Was in the LMS last Saturday with a 5 Modelling buddies, Lots of oohing an aahing and taking boxes and looking at the prices and putting them back shaking their heads. one of us bought a kit. Fairey Rotodyne @ €25.00 despite warning him off the oncoming pain! LOL! as lads have said loads in the stash and maybe concentrate of those now rather then to over expensive new releases. I feel the Companies will up the prices to what the market will bear. €80 to €100 for a 1/48 kit if daft TBH when the model is worthless when built unlike Model railways where you can flog the stuff off.
  2. Lovely I bought one years back and my Dad nicked it and built it!! Now its my turn again!!
  3. Heck that was fast and turned out pretty nice too. Well done.
  4. Glad you got over that hurdle Pete. Looks fab. Looks to be an old boxing and the decals I had were shot hence the Red Engine bands painted. I might give one another bash sometime as I have always like this jet.
  5. Oooh, I had this happen to mine too, Got a Lovely extreme metal done on the engine pods and painted the red colour bands, Got to the primer on the Fues and everytime I sanded it got worse. Ended up losing my patience and throwing it against the wall. Shame but only so much I can deal with...
  6. Great Result, Never seen bombs like that before mounted so aft, Interesting!!
  7. Got a few 2 do. Vampires and C-119's, 1/32 Sea Venom, Noratlas So would join this one.
  8. Lovely Stuff, have one to make myself so watching carefully. Could do with a new Decal sheet though!!
  9. Nice effort, This makes a lovely model too.
  10. Bloody hell, gret effort, I'll leave mine in the box I think.....
  11. I am not sure about this TBH. My glass jar Fractured around the cap when I twisted it off so I wonder is the glass a bit suss. A BB should not really crack and bottle like this open.
  12. Like you it was a voyage of discovery about paperbending etc. I have not photos of it and it was dumped as it was a poor 1st attempt. yuo one look pretty good though. I saw them at intermodelbau in Dortmund and instantly liked them
  13. Delighted I came across this build. I bought a couple of Lighthouse some time back, Started with a small one to practice, on. Still have not got the courage to tackle this one so I will have to have a gander on the build so far and tune in from now.
  14. "I just don't seem to be able to complete a decent model anymore" I get this way too, Its a symptom of the internet and some of the fab models you see everynow and then, you pull out a kit, Look up the net and super modeller Sam has all the bells and whistles in his and you go , Errra I choose something else. In the end I just go with what I am happy with and dont bother with loads of expensive add ons etc as most of the stuff is stored away 99% of the year as we have only one show a year where I live. I also dabble in Trains and RC Aircraft so when I need a break I fall into those hobbys Sometimes a break is all you need!
  15. Dam only seen this now and half way through a Eduard Mirage III. Next time...
  16. Welcome Along Mark. Nice spit. Down in Cork myself.
  17. Now that it pretty special. Have you a build log somewhere, ie paints used, washes etc.
  18. Just tried the AK Black Primer this week, let for 72hrs to dry (they recommend 24) While they go down nice and flat they also scratch off very easily. No good TBH. Especially for a primer. Any Videos I have watched don't mention this at all.
  19. I actually stick in more thinners and let out tiny amount of paint onto the surface. Takes Ages though to cover a large area. l
