  1. Just goes to show that, with the right skill (which you have) you don't need an expensive model, lovely aircraft well done.
  2. The solution is simple, a small resistor for each bulb fit onto a piece of plasticard glue into fuselage connect bulbs to it, for power use a pp3 9v battery resistors reduces voltage, cut access panel under the fuselage, with a clip to hold it in place, to put lights on connect the battery, or have a hidden switch, a few years ago I motorised a Dakota, B29, Liberator I used the small motors from scalextric cars and powered the props. That aside a very impressive model well done.
  3. What a lovely model of this aircraft, it may have been started a long time ago, but the end result is outstanding, well done. Ray
  4. Very nice, how did you get on with the linkage, I remember building the Airfix Loco's and could never get the wheels to turn smoothly as the links were so loose the wheels would lock.
  5. I am going to show some serious ignorance here, Kellogs Kit?

  7. Very nice Joesdad, cracking model, go to the top of the class, I looked at that kit but beyond my budget, real stunner. Cheers Ray
  8. Looks good should be a fine addition to the other tanks, I have the King Tiger, with my own camouflage scheme.
  9. Well I finally finished it, but I am really not happy with it, paint job is lousy and no matter what I did with that canopy it just wouldn't fit, I suppose I can draw a line under it now
  10. Joachim you are of course correct with the spelling. Cheers

Just a thing to say, initially it was thought that the triple mounted MG's were mounted in round tubs or cupolas, however once the ship had been found it was discovered that they were in fact hexagon and the stern ones were square, so I suspect that now that Musashi has been found, although in three pieces, unlike her sister ship Yamato the fighting tower and superstructure appear to be relatively intact, so I am sure there will be a lot more modifications to come. Cheers Everyone Ray
  13. Panic over I found the box it was tucked away in a corner with some paper work on top
  14. Oh my another Ray that is very kind of you, im afraid both canopies are gone, can't believe I did it, never even used the Eduard parts, I will pm you Ray.
  15. Hi folks whilst I kick myself over the Gannet I thought perhaps I would discuss the Hein, I made the kit many years ago and as it was available with Revell, I decided to re-aquaint myself with this little fighter and recently bought it, my experience of building it was a little disapointing, some of the parts needed to be cleaned of flash, but the sprue attached to the fuselage halves was very heavy and requires model rail cutters to remove it and sanding down. The cockpit canopy was a poor fit, also the pilot was almost unrecognisable, I decided to have the undercarraige retracted so that meant fitting the doors, no mean feat as they required sanding and shaping to fit. So having said all that it does make a very nice model. I will post photo's soon.
  16. Sad news john it looks like I threw out the wrong box canopy and Eduard fittings have gone, booo hooooo Does anyone know where I can find a replacement canopy? Soooooooooooo Saaaaaaaaad
  17. There is a company that produces ww2 warships in 1/128 of course depends on what ship you want to build a 2ft destroyer or Nelson or Rodney, for either static or r/c
  18. May I suggest you take legal advice, it may be possible to draw up a contract that binds the Museum to return the item, even if its 5 generations down the road, if they don't accept those conditions, then it's possible they would intend to keep it. The other advice that was given to contact the HMS Hood association is probably the best route, as a Scotsman from near Glasgow myself I am disappointed with the museum's attitude. As for Hood's bell that is bound to be a contentious subject, perhaps if it were allowed, those relatives of those killed, were given the opportunity to touch the bell it would allow them to have that physical contact with the ship and there relatives, just a thought. God Luck
