Hi,
I've recently got back into plastic modeling and I'm currently working on a Hasegawa 1/72 Tomcat.
Because I'm still unsure as to whether I'm going to get back into modeling in a big way, I don't initially plan on buying an airbrush/compressor to finish this model - since it might end up just going back in the cupboard and never getting used again!
So for this first model I wanted to stick to regular paints (Vallejo, etc) and/or spray cans if possible. The primer undercoat is easy obviously - Halfords grey primer is excellent - but I'm having a little trouble planning how to tackle the Hasegawa recommended top coat FS16440, which I believe is the glossy light gull grey.
Does anyone have any ideas how to approach the final coat? Or am I just going to have to paint multiple light coats by brush this time round? If I do that I can probably find a pretty good Vallejo alternative, but it raises the prospect of a long paintjob at the end.
