  1. Depth is run by a bunch of , we are a 2 person team so have to split over summer, and we make ourselves very important and independent (we are the station NDT ) that gives us a lot more leeway, as for security, beats carparking, but don't forget your foulies!
  2. Manage to take leave, so instead of guiding 3000 cars into one queue to join the single highway out of Helston (and being berated by frustrated visitors who paid a fortune to watch fog and listen to a flypast, who feel it is my personal fault the the Cornish highway infrastructure is so poor ), I will be sunning myself in Halifax NS (providing the post tropical storm has passed by then!!!) Hope the fog clears for the Vixen, have left specific instructions to oppo's!
  3. Just like to point out Fishheads never had any Phantoms, WAFU's yes but certainly not fish'eads
  4. Too tru Phil, I keep harping on over on Steel Navy, there is alot of interest over there but I don't think world wide sales would be that great unfortunately, but hey you nver know
  5. It is indeed in 849's hanger as we speak (with an engine out!) as I garoted myself on its bag this morning
  6. I think it was earmarked as a regeneration aircraft, to replace one of the two lost a few years ago. One was being fitted out in D2 hanger, not sure which aircraft it was. I shall check my records!!!
  7. Hi Halfords grey primer (assuming you are in the UK) is a good match, espectially after a black wash. There is a humbrol colour that to me matches exactly but i'm at work at mo and don't have info to hand. Will update later tonight if no one else comes in! Cheers now Bob
  8. i can confirm that Bruce is correct, it does come with those markings.....unfortunately mine are now attached to said model!! Regards Bob
  9. Nice to see the old bird again, welcome back!!!!
  10. Hi Phil Long time no speak! Work is getting in the way of more important things! I saw the programme, wasn't too impressed. I was on her about 8 years ago and seems standards have dropped and she does look like a sack of poo! I hope they expand on their choice of crew to focus on, some don't do the Navy many favours. How you break a gun ( the 20mm one I think??) by removing the cover baffles me abit. My main bug bear is the constant recapping, I think original material only covers 30 mins the rest is just repeats, but thats just my thoughts. As for the merlin going over the side, I think the biggest worry is the loss of a very important tractor. Airframes are 10 a penny! Cheers now Bob PS Blakey still in dry dock WIP!!!!
  11. I had a go with their FGR2 cockpit for the hasegawa kit. Detail is fantastic and the resin fits together a dream, but trying to get the bugger into the kit was a big pain. Lots of sanding, scraping, thinning, swearing, kicking the dog, etc. It has gone in eventually, at the mo looks a bit of a mess but should scrub up well. Bob (No animals were really harmed during the construction process, in fact he enjoys it! )
  12. For my sins I am eternally punished! By the way the hand holds on the italeri kit on the tail pylon I originally found confusing. To me the instructions said above and below the stabiliser but they are fitted further up the pylon, or may have been just my interpretation. Bob UP THE TOWN!!
  13. The tannoy system is some sort of pinky kit (radar) I think it may be a primitive doppler, but as I am a grubber type its not my part of ship. The underside assembly is the jettison pipes, the MK 5 had the simpler arrangement, have seeen the box type in the kit but not sure what it is. Hope this helps....oh and don't forget the tail rotor! bob
  14. I've got that conversion as well (currently around 37 in the build list, no now 38, just got that Nimrod!) but cannot find any decent references anywhere, do you know of any. Don't know of any decal sheets but am still looking! Regards Bob
  15. Greetings, I think Cutting Edge does (or did) decals for 771 NAS in both 72nd and 48th HTH Bob
