Hi AICZ, I too am new (very late starter at 53!) to scale modelling and bought this kit. I was told it would be a good beginners kit, simple and good to hone basic skills. I will do an OOB and I must admit even with my basic knowledge and skill, for such a large kit there is very little good detail. I considered looking for aftermarket bits as well. Not much here in Oz, so will look on ebay and a couple of good online shops here in oz and spend dollars, which makes me wonder for an $80 kit is it worth the extra expense? All up to the individual I guess. Good luck from a fellow noob
