Another K-2SO...big one
Mechanised Dwarf replied to Neo uk's topic in Work In Progress - SF & RealSpace
A Star Wars modelling AND machining post! Nice I will be following this one oh btw it looks like you are off to a great start, keep 'um coming -
Evening chaps and chappets I've just started the Bandai vehicle scale (mini) TIE and SF TIE and have found something I've not seen before and have no idea on how to rectify. Below there is a picture of one of the TIE wings, it has been primed and had a light coat of Vallejo paint airbrushed on. Inside the green box you can see a "tide mark" in the plastic. OK I've seen those before but they have always disappeared under the primer! All four wings have them, I even tried several coats of paint to see if it would vanish but to no avail and I'm worried about losing detail as they are only tiny models. Does anyone have an answer or am I just going to have to weather the wotsits out of the little devels?? Thanks for any help or ideas

MPC Vintage Star Wars B-Wing rebuild
Mechanised Dwarf replied to Phil Lewis's topic in Work In Progress - SF & RealSpace
Very nice! I managed to get the 4 ship box off of evilbay several years ago, I keep looking at it and wishing they were made by Bandai I shall be following this closely, who knows your enthusiasm may rub off on me -
Revell UH-60 A in IAF clothes
Mechanised Dwarf replied to Mechanised Dwarf's topic in Aircraft Modern
Hi yeah I did mean an Israeli Air Force Uh-60 "Yanshuf" not Indian Air force or any other IAF, I should have been more specific The scheme I was looking to do was this: It's on hold until after Christmas anyway and who knows Santa may bring me something more interesting -
1/72 Airfix Vulcan - FINISHED
Mechanised Dwarf replied to Mark4700's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Absolutely stunning! Very well done. This build has been bookmarked for when (if?) I every get to build this beauty so thank you for such a well written WIP MD -
I’m currently on a bit of a small model kick and have just taken delivery of the Revell UH-60 A in 1:100. While looking for pictures on wiki I saw the IAF version and thought that looks quite snazzy and certainly less dull than NATO olive all over. So knowing next to nothing about military vehicles in general and absolutely nothing about IAF vehicles I turn to the collective here – can I build up the Revell version oob and just paint it up in the IAF livery or does the kit need work? It’s 1:100 so I don’t need to go to the detail required of a 1:35, but do I need to change load outs etc? Thanks in advance chaps MD

Madhatter nice find! It really hits home the size when he is holding it, I don't think I've got enough room to work on it never mind displaying it ;-) BTW if you want a giggle put the auto translate subs on the above vid

Thanks for the replies chaps, the Gundam models always look (to me anyway) very Saturday morning cartoony but rockpopandchips your ZakuTank looks fantastic; you’ve taken a kids cartoon and made it menacing! Very well done chap. I quite like the look of the Edelweiss, quite understated, it could easily be a modern tank. The Industria Mechanika may very well ruin me! There are some utterly gorgeous pieces there. It may be good news that I can’t afford them as I wouldn’t be able to do them justice. The APC from Aliens was released, as was the dropship but both are rarer than hens teeth set in a necklace made from unobtainium and when you do find them they are priced accordingly. I think at least to begin with I will get a real world AFV and then maybe follow Wills idea and add futuristic guns and bits Again thanks chaps its given me lots to think about as I battle my current project MD

roymattblack that looks like the old school Genestealer Cult limo, looks very cool £100ish is way outside my tiny pockets but it does look awesome :-)

Apart from the silly Ep 1-3 Star Wars droid nonsense and the ever so lovely but terribly expensive Games Workshop/Forgeworld offerings are there any Sci-Fi scale models of ground forces? Any tanks or other AFV’s at all? I’ve seen some of the wonderful work in the AFV section and have begun to get a real itch to try my hand BUT I would really prefer Sci-Fi or even “ultra-futuristic” real world. So do you chaps know of anything that might help scratch that itch? Preferably without a sky high price tag attached

1/1700 Star Destroyer
Mechanised Dwarf replied to Silverstone 2's topic in Ready for Inspection - SF & RealSpace
Wow that is a mighty model. This is fantastic work - a 10kg model! dear lord that is eye watering but I'm guessing not anywhere near as eye watering as the price ;-) I would be terrified to work on this - I would either knock it over (then cry myself to sleep for the rest of time) or do a doo-doo job on it (and also cry) its a no win scenario :-p- 29 replies

Nicely done squire! My Russian is almost as bad as my Japanese but the pictures are nice It does look like it has taken some design cues from Bandai but thats not a bad thing at all. Now all we have to do is wait for it patiently........................ is it here yet?

Mechanised Dwarf replied to PhantomMajor's topic in Science Fiction Discussion
42 I've been looking forward to the BSG Raptor for a while, if it ever comes to market will Revell do a European version? I don't know what their licensing details. I don't know much about dragon what are their models like? -
BSG Mark VIIE Viper (my version)
Mechanised Dwarf replied to jake the snake's topic in Ready for Inspection - SF & RealSpace
302 I'm not a fan of the mark VII, I much prefer the older mark II but this is a very nice looking bird, you have done yourself proud Mr Snake. The grey modulation you have achieved is great, how did you paint it? I also love the mounting you have for this, is it your own design? -
