  1. I am no British Tank Colour expert and maybe this is not the thread to ask such a question but are those colours accurate for an early war G3 & G4? I was always under the impression that the early war British tanks were painted two shades of green. I might be wrong. I usually am. Great model though Simon. Love it.
  2. Irrespective of when it gets released has anyone seen any sprue shots or CAD images of this kit yet?
  3. Which paints did you use for the Dark Green and Dark Earth?
  4. I know much has been made of the price of the proposed new Airfix Buccaneer and I don't want to be the one to keep that discussion going, but while in a Lego shop at the weekend it's cost was put in perspective when I spied an AT-AT from the Empire Strikes back film. OK so I know they are not the same thing. Yes there is way more plastic in the Lego box and licensing issues from Disney and Star Wars and the like and the thing builds up to the size of a small dog, but the cold hard facts of the matter are; The all-new 1/48 Airfix Buccaneer - £72.49 The Lego AT-AT - £699.99
  5. After digesting the Buccaneer release news and reading the comments on here, and for what it's worth, I do think the price tag is a tad on the high side but I guess that is the going rate for a new tooled 1/48 model in this post Covid, post Brexit, high oil price, high container price, high inflation world that we are living in. Airfix have listened to the UK modeller though so what more can you ask?
  6. I was sure Airfix were going to add a 1/48 Hudson this year but they've gone with the Anson instead. Well done Special Hobby on (hopefully) filling the gap.
  7. Fabulous subject to release. I am excited. Well done Airfix.
  8. Well done on getting the Stranraer finished and hopefully laying to rest any guilt that you may have had for badgering your poor Mum all those years ago.
  9. I preferred it when they unfurled the banner at Telford. Who doesn't like a good old fashioned banner unfurling?
  10. I came across this on the IWM YouTube channel and thought I'd share it here for anyone looking for some reference on the Spitfire Mk.I cockpit. Apologies if this has already been posted or if I have put this thread in the wrong place. Hope you enjoy. https://youtu.be/3hzI81kEUFo
  11. That is a wonderfully executed Valentine with two really well painted crew figures. Love it.
  12. Stunning model but I would not have wanted to fly in a plane like that. Something resembling a fuselage might have been nice.
  13. A fantastic looking model. Beautifully painted and weathered. I am impressed by the aerial wires.
  14. Absolute stunner Kelscale. Love everything about it.
  15. When Airfix designer Paramjit was on the Flory Models Live show a few months back and I suggested in the YouTube chat that Airfix would probably do a Tornado I thought that just for a second he blinked faster than normal and seemed unusually flustered. Just saying...
  16. If you are ever in Glasgow you will find Scott's Models 9 St Margaret's Place Glasgow G1 5JY
  17. I've been using a small folding card table my entire modelling life and have been wanting to find the "right" fold up desk for ages. Is a camping table sturdy enough for modelling uses? Looks like it might be a tad wobbly to me.
  18. At the 2018 Scale Model World Airfix were asking for suggestions for new kits and I put down the following; a Bristol Beaufort a Lockheed Hudson a 1/48 P-40E or P-40F. Seeing as they've done the Beaufort I guess it's only a matter of time till the other two make an appearance. You can thank me later.
  19. Just need some aircraft to pose them next to now.
  20. Lovely little vignette. I like the way the wheels and tracks have been articulated to sit perfectly over the railway line. Love it.
