Trevor I stand corrected and I hope you won a prize for being the only person to correctly predict an Airfix release. Even the guy who designed it thought it was going to be a Stuka 😬

No one guessed the Hellcat correctly. No one. Even the guy who designed it thought it was going to be a Stuka. 😬

Gotta love all this endless speculation. Don't know why we bother with forum threads like this as no-one ever calls it right. Roll on Tuesday so we can get all this over with.

I always win and I'm always lucky and amazing things come my way everyday and I believe that the Airfix 1/24 Spitfire is already mine. Not being on Facebook though I'm assuming they'll just email me to notify me. Can anyone confirm that that is the case?

Doesn't look like there's much wrong with this kit in those photos there. I think it looks good. Thanks for sharing.

Found it on the website and just entered. Thanks

Really lovely model but I think the final reveal photos deserve to be taken against a less cluttered backdrop.- 13 replies

Airfix 1:35 K2Y Ambulance Ice Cold in Alex
Gordon J replied to Hairtrigger's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
Lovely Katy Hairtrigger. What colour and paint range did you use to depict the Light Stone? -
Tiger I of the s.Pz.Abt.501 - Dragon - 1/35
Gordon J replied to Nenad Ilijic's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
It probably took longer simply because there is so much more tank to paint and weather. A Tiger is not an M13 Fiat Ansaldo. -

Like it? I absolutely love it. A stunning model! -
1/32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (mid), and (early) from Kotare
Gordon J replied to Kagemusha's topic in The Rumourmonger
At the risk of this thread spiralling into a whole other discussion can I ask if the wings look the right shape? To my untrained eye on the Mk.1 they seem a bit too long from leading to trailing edge and short in span and rounded at the tips. It's more pronounced in the photo of the sprues on the table than the built up kit I think. I'd expect nothing less than absolute perfection from Kotare so maybe it's just the photo. Maybe it's just me. -
Having seen the size of one of these kits at a model show I'm inclined to suggest you just leave it on the driveway. Same as your car. Just a thought

Su-27P "Flanker-B" "Red 01" diorama, 689th GvIAP
Gordon J replied to haneto's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Almost nothing more I can possibly add to the photos and all the previous comments except to say that this is hands down one of the best models and dioramas I have ever seen. -
1/48 - Lockheed-Martin F-35A & B Lightning II by Tamiya - released
Gordon J replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
It's Tamiya I am sure it will be spectacular but these modern types are immensely uninteresting. -
1/32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (mid), and (early) from Kotare
Gordon J replied to Kagemusha's topic in The Rumourmonger
Kotare are currently listed as one of the traders who are scheduled to be in attendance at this year's ScaleModelWorld at Telford. Not sure if that means we get to see final sprues of the 1/32nd Spitfire ahead of a release or actual kits to buy. Maybe we will see some future kit developments too. -
@PDH Shows what I know and I stand corrected as I too have just had the email from Hannants saying the Beaufort is in stock. 😧
-
From what I have seen of the press releases relating to this kit it still has the feel of something that is in production and the delivery date is a bit off yet. Just my feeling.

New 1/48th Scale Blenheim Announced by Airfix!!
Gordon J replied to tonyot's topic in The Rumourmonger
At the risk of dashing the hopes of anyone who still wishes to see a 1/48 Blenheim IV from Airfix I will reitirate what I was told by the Airfix the guys on the stand at Telford a few years ago when the Blenheim Mk.1 was revealed. They told me that they had NO plans to follow up the Mk.1 with a Mk.IV. I did think it strange but that was what they said. -
Two new tooling from Tamiya at All-Japan Show
Gordon J replied to IT_Man's topic in The Rumourmonger
Yes that rumour was flying about on a previous thread on BM prior to the Phantom kit being announced. Not sure whether there was any substance to it but I for one would welcome a new tooled P-40E. In 1/48th scale please. -
1/32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (mid), and (early) from Kotare
Gordon J replied to Kagemusha's topic in The Rumourmonger
The Kotare Spitfire thread seems to have lurched into a debate on economics! 😧 -
1/32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (mid), and (early) from Kotare
Gordon J replied to Kagemusha's topic in The Rumourmonger
This looks like it will be a very comprehensive kit. I see they've produced some Tamiya mixes for the Dark Earth and the Duck Egg Blue. Not sure how accurate they might be. After seeing this posting I am really looking forward to this one now. Thanks for sharing. -
