    Hello

I started collecting parts about 6 years ago. I think another 3 or 4 years are likely... though of course it wont be "done" at that point, maybe 99% there. and that may not include the multibank engine. A lot of people see the Firefly as a Sherman with 17pdr gun... infact other than the hull, turret, and power train, the whole of the rest of the vehicle is pretty much a British Mod. I have been fortunate to track down some of the vehicle history, so will restore to the markings of Canadian Governor General Foot Guards with whom the vehicle ended the war. Tim

    Hello

A belated hello... as have been a member 5 years, though it seems I never put a hello here... and tbh over the last 5 years, I have posted very little. I confess, I only work in 1 to 1 scale, and my current project is the complete rebuild to serviceable condition of a Sherman VC (Firefly Tank). Lurking here purely because I know many modellers have a great passion for attention to detail and fine research, so often there are useful photos and references which are of help. My project can be found here... www.facebook.com/t289477 I have a huge stack of Firefly parts now... perhaps 97% of the bits... and most are original, including an A57 multibank engine... it's just a matter of having the time and money to put it all back together. Happy to chat Firefly any time. Cheers Tim
  3. Have emailed you the photo... We found original stenciling on the transmission cover of my M4A4 which has 'Unhook Cable before towing' where you have 'lock' on yours. This to release the brakes before the vehicle can be towed.
  4. Unfortunately not - in the interim until maybe one day we find one, we will fit with the Ford GAA engine. We will make every effort to minimise modifications to the vehicle in doing so, and hopefully very little external changes to detract from the vehicle's appearance. Hopefully will be On The Road in time for Normandy 75th in 2019 and some of the other 75th Anniversary events. Cheers Tim
  5. Given the crate on the rear deck, your vehicle should possibly be stencilled with "Link 1 of 1" subject to your representation of course. Link 1 of 1 - indicates that as per your vehicle, it was supplied with the CES in a crate on the rear of the vehicle. (Link 1 of 2, indicating the CES is supplied separately). I have a photo of this from the side of my Sherman VC, however, I don't use photobucket and cannot see where I would attach an image on this forum - am happy to email you the image if you are interested. Tim
  6. Have ordered a couple of small pots from you so I can paint a sample and see what it looks like compared to some of the other restorations. Can you pm me with your 5 litre price please? Thanks Tim
  7. I need approx. 25 litres of SCC15 to paint a Sherman VC (in a couple of years time)... will probably need to find a paint manufacturer to do the mix for this amount... but, would be grateful for confirmation whose paint gives the best match so I can use this as a sample to base from. Thanks Tim
