Is the Weald Foundation membership worth it?
Mostly for images/documents.

Ther's a bunch of Belgian guys building a 1/2 scale working version

Yup, that is cool!
Now add the boxes with part numbers etc, turn the rods into arrows...😈

Just spent at least 45 mins being totally confused by pics of the NAFM Dora with a single shell shute between the wheel wells......
Then I remembered it had the wrong wing for the longest time....😬

The problems being pointed out seem the same as the fit issues with the molding in the Fw190 A's. Judging by the colour of the plastic and if I'm correct Eduard used the same sprues on parts of the plane like the wings and fuselage. They basically used a bad mold to make a new kit. Having said that I haven't come across complaints about this tooling which is interesting.
I have built the original tooling of the A8 and its not perfect for sure but it wasn't terrible considering other manufacturers. Dragon kits have their problems too.
Eduard made a new tooling for 190A's which corrected a few errors and fit issues.
You're right about that, even the fuselage seems to have ugly mould lines on the inside, where I assume the longnose meets the standard fuselage.
Wish they'd update this kit as they did the A's.

It seems the Tamiya sprues have an insert for the undercarriage upper to block the view. The Eduard kit has one as well, but its never referred in the plans.
Gaz
That insert is for the BMW 801 versions

The mold maintenance issue sounds like a marketing ploy to me …… hurry, hurry, hurry - get one whilst you can.
No knowledge of the design and production process, but could these issues be because of pre-production moulds of lesser longevity?

That should drop HKM prices through the floor......

Just stumbled on to this looking for tips, ideas, inspiration.

No mention of an interior, so might even be cheaper!
Or is this one of the 'new brands' re-packaging the same kit sans interior? (Das Werk going the other way so to speak)

If possible, buy the same kit and build to your current standards and ability, display together.

Depends on country as well I guess...
WW1:
Fokker Dr.1 probably better known as 'Red Baron', nothing else even comes close in exposure.
WW2:
Spitfire, Messerschmitt, Zero, Mustang. These names will get recognised by the man in the street, with Spitfires being brown/green, Messerschmitts having yellow noses, Zero's being white and Mustangs being silver.
Cold War early:
Mig, Mirage, Phantom
Migs being all Russian aircraft, Mirages, due to being famous for the Israeli conflicts, Phantoms for Vietnam. Wars are being televised.
Cold War late:
Tomcat, Stealth Fighter.
Tomcat because of Sidra, Stealth Fighter because of general media attention, the (percieved) cloak of invisibility and the televising of the conflicts it was involved in.
Latest gen:
Su-27, Raptor, F-35.
Su-27.....well COBRA! The most televised move ever!
Raptor because it is king of the hill at the moment.
F-35, because it is in the news for all the wrong reasons, all the time.

Is that last scheme relate to Bacardi in any way?
-
Yup, they are.
Ordering is a bit weird though, paypal goes to a person, communication is negligible, but shipping is pretty good.
Like all .UA shops really

Revell do an A8, but that would need quite a bit of surgery

Really, REALLY not able to find info on the nose being short.
Some mentions of the cockpit being in the wrong place, but no pics, drawings compares or such.
