  1. If I'd have to pick a marque...Porsche.

not as much the road cars, but the racers.....god I love those.

Still remember the first Le Mans Classic, standing in the '70's paddock, sun on my face, eyes closed and one by one the cars were being started, flat six, SBC, and then...the mighty 917!

    still gives me goosebumps!

Looking at this photo and the shape of the bracket, it is conceivable that it could fit that bracket, flanged sides with a slot cut into the base. Very plausible it was designed to take both the hydraulic fluid container and/or the pump. Now, having said that, given its original location being the bow of the tank, I doubt that the risk would have been taken to mount a mechanical pump which requires skilled labours and such to make would have been mounted on a section of the vehicle that would have potentially been used for knocking over trees thus damaging a pump. Easier to make a tin can and put it there and safe guard the pump in another location, hence the steel box in your photos. My references only make mention of the hydraulic fluid container, no pump is mentioned, but your photos present a possible option of universal design.

    Just a thought.

next time read the text with the pics....

I'm not sure how often Hannants are able to get stocks of the Rob Taurus canopies these days so you could be waiting a while, so the shop in Holland is probably your best bet if you want to complete the model soon as it looks pretty close now.

most EU stores are running low on eastern European stuff, just wait till it kicks off in the Ukraine for the stuff from there to dissapear....😳

  4. All instrument panels are undersize.

At least in width, the have to be, as the cockpit sidewalls are so thick (around 10cm in 1/48)

If kits come with sidewall inserts, where possible I use them as a pattern for replicating details, occasionally removing details from the inserts to add manually.

Same for the inside of the coaming, thin it to halsf thickness inproves things a lot.

Using Airscale and Anyz delails makes for a much more realistic cockpit.

  5. Looking for something specific, possibly contrary...

I have a few proxxon polishing bits (like the conical one in the pic) which I use at low speed to make dents, do oilcanning and such.

only problem is the rubber is VERY soft.

Anybody use these and maybe come across a 'stiffer' (snigger) version?

Did anyone else notice the white Mk2 Escort lurking in the background in a couple of episodes? 😁

Interesting suggestion, I tested it on a small off-cut of the spare area and it did make it easier to peel without tearing, but the adhesive is completely gone.

Gone, stuck to the backing or absorbed by the wood?
