Northern Ireland, the early days - suitable figures to convert?
dcrfan replied to bootneck's topic in Figure Discussion
Isn't that the same figures I posted last month on the parallel thread? -

I'm gutted .... no Skyvan -
😦 What! In this day and age I must be able to report you to someone for torturing your tank with clamps. Rubber bands are much more humane 😉

I note pre orders for new 1/72 Wasp are being accepted by jadlamracingmodels.com International boxing appears to include RNZAF markings.

1/48th scale Campbell Fordson F armoured tractor progress. Anyone have any thoughts on the colour scheme? Photos of prototype on first page of this thread.

'the train guys in Europe think the O scale is 1/43.5 (what?) but the tracks for that scale are in 1/48'. It's actually worse than that. O scale can be 1/48 in the US, 1:43.5 in Britain and 1/45 in mainland Europe while the track gauge in all of those scales can vary. One of my layouts is 1/48 scale using Peco HOm 12mm gauge track to represent 2ft gauge line used by the Imperial Japanese Navy in WW2. So aircraft, vehicles and boats all available in the same scale. Whats not to like?

Have a look at my RNZAF Pacific airstrip build thread a https://rnzaf.proboards.com/thread/26916/wwii-airfield-diorama-south-pacific?page=1 In 1/48 scale I suggest crushed anything will be too coarse. Just adding some coarse texture gel to your selected base colour is more than sufficient. I started out with white but have subsequently added some colour. I was able to visit the remaining taxiways at Torokina a few years ago for a few minutes which influenced my decisions. A contemporary photo of coral before crushing. My revised coral colour. And the subtle texture of coarse gel. [

Body assembly has begun. She is no thing of beauty.

Personally I really like their 1/48 kits unfortunately they are getting difficult to purchase. HJL mentioned above only have a couple in stock. Too many in modellers stashes ☺️

Chassis ready for bodywork

1938 so I'm assuming it is made from plywood, drone dope and canvas

Kitbash of Tamiya 1/48 SS-100 Heavy Tractor has begun. Chassis extended and rear chassis/axle /mudguards significantly narrowed to the bus width.

I need the photo for a wanted poster as just can't seem to find a 1/48th scale Cpl Jones anywhere! He must be practising his camouflage or he's locked in the chiller at his butchers shop.

Kingsman great minds ........ My 1/48 Bedford OXA is nearly finished naturally based on an Airfix Bedford MWD. I'll post a photo later today. And my 'HG copy of an Armadillo' is next planned build based on a 1/48 Tamiya Opel Blitz kit bash. Here is another slightly different version of a HG Armadillo with a nice ex aircraft Lewis gun mount.

Thanks discovered that last night. Regent model ST standing for 'short type'. I also made an unexpected discovery that the rear tyres had a slightly smaller diameter than the front but the difference in 1/48 scale is so small (1.5 mm) that i will ignore it as the rear wheels are mainly behind armour.

Thank you. I'll try and find a copy of Tankette index. I was a member for several years but don't remember those articles. Probably before my time. Then to find some one with the right stone tablets🤫

I'm planning to build one of the London Transport armoured buses. I have found two pictures of similar but not identical vehicles. But I can't find a drivers side view. Has anyone seen a right side view?
