  1. I have that same airbrush, it worked Ok for about 6 months until the seals went and poured paint everywhere. So I gave in and got an expensive H&S which doesn't leak, but has just about every other temperamental behaviour because its an airbrush.
  2. Nice collection. You know, I've never seen one of those NHS Hawks built - not surprising IMO.
  3. Yes, you'd definitely need a G/H/I to complete the 'set'. Looks like Atlantic cover most of the wartime classes in some form including a Glowworm (if it comes back into stock 🤞)
  4. Felt tip ens? Is that for the panel lines? Sounds interesting. Lovely build, beautifully finished
  5. The miniatures game Jeff shows above is Victory at Sea. Another idea is to look for YouTube videos of board wargames. which will give you some idea of the gameplay. I've also heard of Second World War at Sea from Avalanche Games - not played it but there are some very interesting historical articles on their website. http://www.avalanchepress.com/line_WWIISea.php
  6. Try Naval Warfare Simulations http://www.navalwarfare.net/ They are naval nerds and do PC games, board games (which you can download and print yourself) and miniatures games. Maybe more detailed than you want but you can ask on their forums.
  7. Proper job - I've got the same project in mind for the Abingdon Chipmunk I flew circa 1985. It'll be the only plane in my collection with a pilot.
  8. My thoughts exactly. The Lufthansa scheme is much better 'in the flesh' IMO, though it could have used a yellow stripe. Air India looks like a budget airline, but then so does everything these days.
  9. Lovely - so good to see a model without over the top weathering. Must treat myself to one someday, if I ever have the room.
  10. Almost as brave as taking a walking holiday in the UK this summer 😉 - best of luck with the North Atlantic weather.
  11. Funnily enough, the 1:1 scale Stirling project have got to the same stage. But they have cheated slightly by only doing half the bay... Warning: features joggling. Which isn't as much fun as it sounds.
  12. Ships railings were often collapsible, though usually they would be up unless there was a good reason to lower them (e.g. dockside loading). Carriers usually have fancy retracting railing around lifts for obvious reasons.
  13. Yes, right aileron comes off. No way out of the roll. Tragic, its incredibly dangerous work and happens all too often.
  14. Folland Gnat T.1 XR992 of the Yellowjacks (No. 4 Flying Training School display team): <Airliners.net PICTURE REMOVED> ...sadly came to a rather comic end in December 1969 when one of the crabs' finest reported its engine was on fire. Fl Lt Dickie Duckett (yes, really) immediately ejected as required by procedure, whereupon Mr Observant said oh terribly sorry, it’s XR995 that is on fire. So she got ditched as well. The hero of the hour was credited with the kill.* * Possibly
  15. Is it just standard overhead projector acetate? Or maybe its printing imagesetter film - in which case any cheap source of more? Any suggestions for how to curve it without making it cloudy? I'm thinking maybe boiling water and harsh language? Thanks John
  16. My vote - Zuiho in that scheme. I have the Hasegawa 1/700 one and it looks gorgeous!
  17. Ooooh that galley is a beauty, always wanted one of those. Knights Hospitaller for prefence. BHF often do those job lots, they can be great if the assortment fits.
  18. Thanks everybody. I'll try the AK masking putty if I can't find any plain Silly Putty in local shops. I have tried Copydex but its a bit too tacky for me. Blu-tac is good for feathered edges but I want something for a hard edge (i.e WWII/Cold War RAF despite what some modellers seem to think) Thanks John
  19. But I love that sort of thing... (and its probably designed around PE substitution, right?)
  20. Superb, she looks just right - the paint job is just perfect, catches that TOS look whilst looking 'real'. I've never seen such good collectors on an Enterprise. Scotty would be - well, grudgingly complimentary maybe!
  21. That's a beauty and not easy to do. I must not buy one. Or two.
