  1. The real 109 rear fuselage has a distinct seam running the length of it where the model seam line is. If you describing the lost panel line detail for the circumferential panels then just scribe a light panel line on the top and bottom to represent the panel line. Have fun and enjoy painting the model. Plasto
  2. Perhaps the way to go and keep cost down is start with a reasonably nice but inexpensive base kit and just create the add on bits with plasticard or 3D printed bits Voyager do a PE detail set for the dragon kit that’s not too expensive and give you some of the harder to scratch build parts.. Or CMK do a conversion set... It German it’s SS and it’s Ardennes so lots of options abound... Have fun...
  3. Ausf G according to this article.. https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=i&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwiuwuu8w-_gAhXBUn0KHX8LB4kQzPwBegQIARAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tanks-encyclopedia.com%2Fww2%2Fnazi_germany%2Fersatz-m10s-panthers-in-disguise%2F&psig=AOvVaw2ssvkGGdv6L-yO2Fepq1LA&ust=1552030815645098
  4. Good choice of subject Andy... how do you think you’ll paint The Caunter scheme running boards on or off?? Also who’s colours do you think you’ll use??
  5. So I made a bit of a start on the base... MDF Place mat blank and some high density foam... This got covered in sculpamould and then after a bit of paint and some scenic scatter we have the following... A nice rocky desert base... I need to tone down that volcanic black sand a bit but as a WIP I’m happy thus far.... Cheers. Plasto
  6. T-55 / 54 would be good and timely with the T54/55 STGB later this year....
  7. Correct we have Kiwi Marmite which is a poor impersonation of the real thing.... Same with weetbix like weetabix but without the tax payment...
  8. So the figures for the most part are complete... Big difference in the quality of the sculpt between the older Dragon and newer Dragon figures...
  9. No problem.. Shooting some images 45/45 also generally produces pleasing images of models. So the model posed diagonally 45 degrees of thereabouts... Shot with the camera looking down at the subject at 45 degrees or thereabouts.. Have fun...
  10. Interesting project. I’d suggest the following. Some sort of tie downs on the bombs. Sort the seam lines on the bombs. Tidy up the painted concentric rings on the bomb noses.. HTH
  11. Hi Ali, The Tiger looks great as do the figures. I have that set and they look good built up. A small suggestion would be if you are shooting photos then look for a plain or neutral background this allows the viewer to concentrate on the subject which is your cool model Tiger not the back drop. For white subjects pick a neutral grey background a bit of card from the art shop does the job.. HTH Plasto
  12. The push bike is the new bucket when it comes to adoring AFB with stowage.. Looking good.. I have been looking for this kit or the Academy copy over the last few weeks but one hasn’t surfaced... looking foreword to seeing more as she progresses..
  13. I knocked a bit of the saturation out on the second image. I just used the edit tool on my phone. The new photos you have done are better.. The date has gone for example. Hard to know what the model looks like in reality. To me the images seem skewed to red. But that’s what it might look like in reality. Try the neutral grey trick shoot an image with a pot of paint in the image that has a neutral grey lid. You can use that as a reference to correct any colour cast..
  14. Some work on one of my Panzer officer figures... more to do but coming along....
  15. So progress with the Dragon Figures... We have a couple of Gebirgsjager in the mix but the uniforms are correct for the DAK... They need the seams sorting and the heads adding. I think unfortunately I will not have time to get some hornet heads for them but the Dragon ones are not too bad..
  16. A manufacturer could choose a myriad of ww2 aviation subjects to produce in 1/72 scale model form. Of all of these subjects there is a core which have broad appeal and a further group which have devoted followings. So when it comes to assembling a product range to take to market subject choice is important. The problem is if you listen solely to enthusiasts what you get is a highly skewed view as to what constitutes a must have subject for your range. So the skill in range selection is knowing what will sell as the main aim of being in business is to make money and creating a range that appeals to all potential customers as well as the enthusiast market. So I personally don’t get too het up when another Spitfire or P51D appears. I also don’t get overly excited when a mainstream manufacturer such as Tamiya decide not to kit say a Hurricane or P-51B my view is if the market is crying out for these subjects then market forces being what they are the market will fulfill the need. So as Arma hobby has invested in the Hurricane someone else may invest in a P-51B. If the demand for these subjects is strong then good sales will follow. What you don’t want to do is tool up meet the initial enthusiast demand and when everyone has 10 in the stash then sell no further stock. As that doesn’t make for a sustainable business model. But it does fulfill the need for a subject in the market. So I suspect Tamiyas new 1/72 Spitfire will be nice but probably won’t meet everyone’s desires in terms of detail features and price as were an incredibly difficult bunch to please. Im looking forward to further commentary once some actual sprue shots surface...
  17. That’s not my point. Its a given the western market for military models has changed away from the ‘toy trade’ to the enthusiast adult buyer. The issue is if you are to invest in tooling to produce using your example a P-51B then the accuracy and build ability of the kit is almost a given as you need to meet those criteria to make a sale, any inaccuracy will be vilified here in forum land. The question is will the subject you choose result in volume sales initially and then on a repeatable basis? My conjecture is some subjects such as Spitfires and Me109G’s and P-51D’s will which is why as subject choices they are very prevalent. Some subject seem obvious to enthusiasts such as the P-51B yet are not as well represented.. So that’s either gross oversight on the kit companies part or they may know something about what sells in volume..
  18. Producing an accurate and high quality kit is once thing. Selling it in volume on a consistent basis is another. In there lies the answer to why a lot of stuff isn’t done by mainstream manufacturers...
  19. I’d say the difference between WHIF and LUFT / Panzer 46 is a fine line. Generally the delineation is WHIF are often subjects that existed that are portrayed in fictitious markings.( TSR 2 in operational colours etc) Where LUFT / Panzer 46 are generally based on prototypes or design concepts that never reached production. It is a bit murky however and with things like Hannebau you also get a sci-fi vibe.. Should be a Good GB if it hits the numbers..
