Hi , I’ve been 3 times and only found 2 hobby shops , Jans hobby shop is on the upper east side but I’ve heard it about to close for good , and the other one is the Red Caboose on 23 W 45th St Manhattan, it’s predominantly trains and die cast but has plenty of plastic kits and it’s such a great underground location , hope this helps Pat Birch
  2. Great finish ,I built this kit a few years ago , picked it up at an East Midlands model show for £7 quid !! it’s possible Italeri have the moulds but not 100% sure , Birchy uk
  3. Just a heads up for anyone looking to to buy a cheap Airfix kit at Aldi ,just got the P51D Mustang ,kit no.a68208, the Tuskegee redtail version, great value at less than a fiver including paints brush and glue, only mine came with decals for Mustang kit no.a01004a which is a bluenosed version .Might be worth having a look before you buy if you want this specific version ,great new tool kit though ,cheers Birchy
  4. Hi ,can’t remember seeing any builds of this kit ,but it’s fairly straight forward ,the interior seats and crew seats are a bit undersized so you could keep the the cabin door closed , I think the cabin seats were only applicable to other variants ie the HC4 not the AEW2 which would have been full off sonar or radar equipment , Google will give you loads of good references , best of luck ,Birchy
  5. Hi , I built this kit last year before I built the Airfix hc4, this kit has better detail in some parts than the Airfix kit ,but the main omission is the exhaust shroud ,I fabricated one from plasticard using the Airfix kit as a template . I have the 1/48 Sea King AEW2 with a resin radar bag which having done the 1/72 Cyber Hobby one in the grey scheme I am tempted to do a Falklands blue version which is included in the decal options ,I also have a Revell 1/48 Sea king and an Airwaves HC4 conversion set which will get the white tiger stripes, looking forward to see yours progress ,Birchy
  6. Great job , I saw this Sea King flying over Exmouth last month whilst on holiday ,also saw a couple Aew2 baggers on their final flypast .I finished the Airfix HC4 a couple of months ago and had mixed feeling about it , cheers Birchy
  7. HI Nicklas , great job ,finished this kit late last year , what paint did you use for the main colour, looks spot on ,Pat Birch Uk
  8. I remember watching thes take off from Birmingham /Elmdon airport back in the early 80s , the noise was absolutely unreal , a real chest ripping noise I haven't heard since Concorde took off from their about 14 years ago , great model by the way , Birchy UK
  9. Thanks Troffa, literally 60 shades of grey ! I used Vallejo sky grey 70.989 on my RAF Typhoon which came out looking ok , I will probably end up using a few various shades of Vallejo Med sea grey and dark sea grey , thanks for your help ,Birchy Uk
  10. I,m currently building the Revell 1/48 GR4 Tornado ,can anyone recommend the equivalent Vallejo colours for this kit ,regards Birchy UK
  11. Does anybody know of any aftermarket decals for the 1/32 Fly Wessex HU5/HC2 , regards Birchy
  12. Hi , I am pretty sure the Huey from this manufacturer came in 1/35 scale, the only 1/48 Hueys I recall were from Esci and Italeri , Google is your best bet to make sure , hope this helps , Birchy Uk
  13. There's a build feature in the March edition of Military illustrated Modeller of the HC2 version , the builder recommends removing 5mm from the rear end of the interior roof for a better fit, this is also confirmed by the manufacturer Fly , worth checking if you can, I forgot to mention this in my 1st post, Birchy UK
  14. Hi ,I've got the HU 5 version in the stash , not to many builds on the net of this kit so I'll be watching with interest for any pitfalls , godd luck Birchy UK
  15. Great finish , just done the dog fight harrier and argie skyhawk , airfix new tool kits in this scale are just great. Well done Birchy uk
