  1. It's great to see a green Tiger Moth. I find people tend to fixate on exact colour, forgetting that plane paint fades and is affected by humidity, etc. Yours looks really good. Good weathering too. Nice one!
  2. Really good effort. The winterised paint effect looks great. I'm sure there was many field modifications in theatre - some official and some not.
  3. Nice work! I particularly like the ASV aerials. Good to see a coastal command Fortress.
  4. There's two bonza builds right there. You've achieved some very good results! Very inspiring indeed
  5. I'm currently building a 1/72 HobbyBoss kit of a US Navy A-7E Corsair II. The kit is IMHO rather nice indeed - though there could be improvements, such as a single molding for the upper wing to ensure the correct anhedral (which is very distinctive on this aircraft) I've just salvaged 2 AGM-65 Mavericks from a A-10 Warthog glue-bomb and, looking to add something a little different to the model, was wondering if the USN used Mavericks on the A-7E. The finished model will be in the markings of the CAG bird from VA-97 around about the period of Operation Eagle Claw. I realise it may not be strictly accurate to represent Mavericks on an Eagle Claw Corsair, but I'm willing to take a bit of poetic licence!
  6. Is that a fuel tank underneath? looks like its mounted on the torp shackles...
  7. Cheers, that's a great photo. That Beau looks like it was hammered out of a single piece of metal! Are those whip aerials protruding from the either side of the nose cone?
  8. Another thing, what is the aperture on the nose? Gun camera?
  9. Yup. Exactly. I'm making my Airfix Torbeau with rockets. The fairings do indeed cover the MG ejection chutes.
  10. Thanks Black Knight, I thought as much Next question: The kit doesn't have undercarriage doors for the tail wheel. Is this correct? Seems a bit drag-inducing to me...
  11. I've just taken delivery of Airfix's exquisite new-tool Torbeau I really like the SEA colour scheme configured with 8 rockets, but I'm also thinking that it'd be a shame not to do a TORBEAU with a TORpedo. I've seen models with both weapons carried, but does anyone know if this ever really occurred. I can't find any historical evidence... Cheers
  12. No photos as yet, but this is a call for help!! I am part way through the build of the new (recent) tool Airfix A-4 Skyhawk in 1/72. Straight to the point; I feel like a bit of a goose because I managed to tread on the canopy. There... I've said it. I'm looking for a replacement. So far I've had no luck with the Airfix spares department. Can anyone help?
