  1. That's what I thought might be the situation! I don't mind either ways - just like to know what I'm working with and from where! I've got everything on now, so get a few coats of lacquer on and I'll start looking st adding the wings tonight/tomorrow... Anyone who has used the 26decal set - where does the Star Alliance logo to? I can't find it on the sheet anywhere! I'm also stuck with sticker 8 - a small blue circle by the doors on the left side of the fuselage - four stickers but I can only see three places! Final question I promise! On the front of the fuselage is a trio of frayed circles - have I missed them in either pack or are they of no worry? http://www.airliners.net/photo/British-Airways/Airbus-A380-841/2672602/&sid=ec55006955180c6df7fee66af12e1a0d Thank you! Again!
  2. Sorry to resurrect this post, but I can't get over what a beautiful model you have finished! I've asked in my own thread, but did you apply the default decals to your model? Also, have you used the first flight or Lufthansa version? I've noticed a few little differences with the 26decals which I suspect may be because I'm using an older model.

  4. Just as I thought - thanks Jessica! Emailed Ray this morning to find out if any of the default decals need to be applied to the model- anyone got any ideas as to what I need to apply?
  5. Had a lot of work with supply and tutoring so progress is slower than I'd have hoped. Need to re-paint the flap actuators as they started to peel after I put on the masking tape; truth be told this really annoyed me so I just left them for a while. Then I just need to add the wings onto the fuselage and Bob's your uncle! One thing I do want to ask: when the wings are added are there meant to be any gaps at all? Or is that part of how the model has been built?
  6. Excellent, Thanks for that to the both of you! Would I be right in saying that there is no silver on the tail wings?

Did you manage to get hold of the Holts paint? I'm wondering if it's worth checking out what the metallic version of the colour Ray suggested looks like. It seems a little 'flat' at the moment!
  8. Work is still progressing, I promise. Unfortunately I was dragged into resus. on Saturday afternoon with palpitations... That lasted for 3 hours. Pulse rate was through the roof at 210 and so I was quite poorly. A few doses of adenosine and some IVbeta blockers brought me back to normal sinus rhythm, however I have been exhausted since, so little more progress but not huge amounts. In terms of moving forward, I would like to know where I'm placing the identification letters for the plane. Would I be correct in saying these do not include numbers? I'm wanting to use GXLEI as the numbers are a combination of my birth date! I'm thinking that these would go on the fuselage, above the cockpit decals, and on both sides of the tail fin at the top?
  9. So I've started adding the decals tonight. Had some right issues with the tail section and the wrapping red. I'm going to speak to Ray and see if it would be possible to acquire some more so that I can tidy them up as I'm not at all happy with thine effort! However! I've decided that I shall be using this as evidence that I can be a part of the Royal college of surgeons, so we shall see how that goes! Behold part of the beast done as shown:
  10. Flap actuator? Golly. I struggle with the day to day lingo of education! Thank you. Might find I'm finding better search results now I know the terminology!
  11. Thank you for that. I was worried there was some science behind it - apparently not! Yay! Literally filled in the cracks I wanted to fill in about ten minutes with a cocktail stick! Will cover up and add a few last sprays to the fuselage in blue and then start adding lacquer.
  12. Oh really!? Are you sure!? I literally only need the engine attachment pieces. The actual casings are fine, but the bits that attach to the wings I'm going to need four sets of if you have them going spare! Thank you! On a side note, looking at pictures, the under wing bits with red at the end of them seem to be a slightly different colour to the rest of the wing. Is this just shading?
  13. Indeed I do Phil! Worked out there's a few few more that I need, don't think Tamiya tape is going to adequately protect the current decals if I go for a colour change!
  14. The paint code I used on the wings was HLGrey01 - otherwise called Toga White by Holts. The Aeroflex was RAL7004 - signal grey.
  15. How would you best suggest using the putty? Fill in the gaps literally? I'm unsure of how to fill them and then file them down!
