From what I've seen, I'd agree. Maybe ten or more years ago, "short-run" was a term associated with poor fit and few parts. Nowadays the cottage industries have turned it round to such an extent that manufacturers like Modelsvit, Clear Prop! and JETMADS are world leaders. They also have a habit of covering some great subjects.

I wish they would cover the Yak-141 Freestyle!  In 1/48th scale of

    course.

Oh, that's pretty cool. Was hoping for a new tool Mirage IV in 1/48.

Is this Modelsvit's first model kit of a jet in 1/48? Hopefully they could do some of the Soviet/Russian stuff in 1/48 that is still not tackled (Kitty Hawk promised quite a few but burned out before they've gotten to it).

Sorry, have to mention that a kit of a Yak-41 in 1/48 would be great :)

I'll go for a Yak-41 Freestyle 1/48th scale!  Short run would be better than nothing.

As anyone seen a review that covers accuracy of the HB superhornet?

Their are some reviews on YouTube.  One is by Phil Flory,

he likes the kit, more then the Meng.  There's another quick build video that shows the model finished at the end. Looks good,  so far. Fit of the part seemed to be very good also, maybe not Tamiya fit,  but very good.

This is to give the interesting news that Trumpeter  has commissioned a Box Art for a 1/350 Model Kit of the Planned Conversion of the Launched and almost completed ( Admiral Hipper Class Heavy Cruiser ) for the Seydlitz WW2 Warship Hull to be a German Navy Carrier .

Tonight Randall confirmed to me it will be Trumpeter of China who will produce it as a kit using the Hull of their Hipper Class and other parts of the Graf Zeppelin ( planes etc ) .

     Beautiful artwork!

  5. On the F-35B, behind the lift fan door, there's a second  split door

that opens when the plane is taking off and landing. When open, it exposed the drive  shaft that runs from the engine to the lift fan.  Can anyone tell me why it is there,   why is it necessary to expose the lift fan shaft?   Is it an  auxiliary intake, necessary for more air to be sucked into the engine  for it to function properly?

Drawings can be ancient and accurate. What drawings are supposed to be better.

AFAIK TrumpyBoss take scale drawings and walkarounds lying around and hand them out to a CAD designer. The problem is that the designer doesn't know anything about the subject (which is pretty normal to me: he's a CAD designer, not an aviation enthusiast). What's really missing is someone reviewing his work to debug the CAD model before tooling. Some producers do that (at least Great Wall Hobby and Kinetic) but TrumpyBoss isn't one of them.

I hope they didn't mess up their new F-18E!
